My brother moved to The Orchards in Crewkerne in July this year. The whole experience since he has been there has been nothing but positive for him and the family. Through all the kindness and understanding of all the staff, my brother settled in well and he has since made friends there, and fostered
happy connections with the team. He has enjoyed the social events and outings, and loved attending the Memorial Day service most recently. He is also engaging in the activities at the Orchards and getting a lot from these. The Orchards staff are always welcoming and friendly, and engage well with questions by family members. They all do their best to help and ensure things run smoothly for my brother. My brother also really enjoys the food at The Orchards and very much likes the view his bedroom window over the playing fields. He loves watching the weekend sport! In all, his experience since being there has been entirely positive.
Reply from Christelle Johnstone, Marketing and Communications Manager at The OrchardsThank you so much for taking the time to share such a heartfelt review. We are delighted to hear that your brother has settled in so well at The Orchards and that his experience since joining us in July has been so positive. Your kind words about our staff mean a great deal to us. The team works hard to be welcoming, attentive, and reassuring for both residents and their families, and feedback like yours is incredibly appreciated.

Ernstell House in Plymouth has been an absolute blessing for my Dad. From the moment he arrived, the warmth the kindness shown by every member of staff have given me such peace of mind. The team truly treat residents with dignity, patience and genuine compassion, and it shows in the way my dad smiles
more, engages more and feels safe. The home itself is always clean, calm and welcoming, and there is a real sense of community. Staff take the time to understand each resident as an individual and keep families involved and reassured every step of the way. Knowing my dad is cared for by people who go above and beyond every day means more than words can say. I am so grateful to the entire team at Ernstall House for the love, respect and comfort they give him. They really do make it feel like home.

I was worried about putting my mother into care, would she be looked after? Would she be happy? Well after a look back over her last ten months at The Orchards I can answer "YES!".
I really am happy for her to be in their care. When ever I drop in to see her, she is well dressed, warm and
cared for in warm comfortable surroundings.

Overall no complaints about the care given. However I was not impressed to find breakfast dishes still in resident's room late afternoon. Also residents in lounge unable to have afternoon hot drinks due to lack of cups and only one member of staff in the lounge with several residents. Appreciate may
be short staffed but .
Reply from Keren Wilkinson, Chief Executive Officer at The OrchardsThank you for taking the time to send in a review, these reviews are very valuable to us, please be reassured that we will look into the comments you have made and ensure that we address any improvements that we can make from your feedback. Please be assured that the home is always fully staffed, we will never compromise on staffing levels; however, the can be occasions when residents who are not in the lounge area require support from our team resulting in a reduced staff presence in the communal areas. There is always one staff member present and they can call for helps if required.

Excellent qualified staff on each shift 24/7.

The staff and the environment are welcoming and professional. Mum's needs are met and she is very well looked after, which gives me peace of mind knowing she's in good hands. This is a happy place for residents, with lots of effort put into entertainment and daily activities to support various needs.
The entire team are positive, supportive, compassionate and open to feedback from visitors. The App is particularly useful as it allows me to see how Mum is doing on days when I'm unable to visit. My Father visits daily to spend time with Mum, and it's a credit to the team that he is treated so well during his visits. I feel that the team, the entertainment and the positive atmosphere are a huge benefit to him, even when he's not a resident. Well done Ernstell House.

Overall, really good/excellent, but no one is perfect! I would say more training needs to be given to recently appointed staff, as whilst trying their best, overlook fundamental processes.

All staff are polite and say hello and the quality and of care is excellent, once everything has been understood.

Dad has been at Exmouth House for the last 2 and a half years. My brother and I looked round several local care homes but none of them felt quite right for Dad until we went to Exmouth House. The calm, friendly atmosphere, the lovely bedroom, the large communal lounge, the range of activities and the
attentive staff made us immediately feel that Dad could be happy there. He settled in very quickly and I feel that he is safe and very well-looked after. The staff quickly got to know him and noticed what he liked and didn't like. The residents are treated as individuals, and always with respect and dignity. Mum has been at Exmouth House for 3 years. Myself & my brother are very pleased with the care she receives. It's like a home from home . Comfortable, warm with a great atmosphere. The care team are compassionate & go above & beyond to ensure all mums needs are met. Always with a smile & treated with
respect & dignity. Kat & Kinga keep us informed of how mum is & always keep us up to date with care or any issues that may occur. They know mum so well & are always on top of any concerns. Mums room is pretty & kept beautifully with all her own photos, books & treasures. Activities are very important to keep mum moving, busy & happy. Liz does a fab job & works hard with willing help from the staff. She invents fun activities. A lot of ideas come from the residents themselves. There are residents meetings so that mum can have a voice & feel valued. Liz is always open to ideas & suggestions . Mums receives regular prayers & holy communion which is important to her. Sadly my Mum passed away in August after living at Exmouth House for just over two years.
I can't begin to say how happy I was with the care my Mum received whilst there and putting my mind at rest. I was kept updated with phone calls and video calls which was lovely. As I live in Essex, it meant
I could only get down once a month to see Mum, it was a great relief to know she was well looked after and I could sleep soundly at night.
There were always activities going on and outings. It has a real family feel to it.
The staff are amazing and so welcoming. What I loved was you could just turn up at any time and spend as long as you wanted there.
I would highly recommend Exmouth House, I shall miss seeing all the staff and residents there. Great team that I can't thank enough for everything

The nicest thing about the home is the garden being able to take my husband down to garden gives us great pleasure. The staff are very attentive and supportive and management very good and helpful, the atmosphere in the home is pleasant and inviting, although the lounge is cramped for visitors and it
is not always possible to move away from the noise and confusion.
Reply from Mandy Bugler, Manager - Signature House at Signature HouseThank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're so pleased that you enjoy spending time in the garden with your husband it's a special space that our residents and families find peaceful and uplifting. We're also glad to know that you find the staff attentive and supportive, and that the overall atmosphere of the home feels pleasant and inviting. We appreciate your feedback regarding the lounge area. As this is a Specialist Dementia floor with only 16 residents, we understand how important it is to have calm and comfortable communal spaces. While the home does offer large bedrooms that provide a more private and spacious environment, we recognise that the lounge can be quite busy, especially with the number of visitors we welcome and may make it difficult to find a quiet area away from the noise and activity. We will continue to explore ways to improve the use of shared spaces to ensure all residents and their families feel comfortable and supported during their visits.

After visiting our brother in hospital for weeks we could see he was not happy and we were always concerned for him, but visiting him here (only two days has he been here) he looks so much better, its a wait off our shoulders.
