I was really taken with the home, quality - which I appreciate with my husband David, who is very well cared for. The assistants and professionals. All very caring and considerate. Overall, I'm happy as is our family for the lovely place Ernstell is! Elizabeth, Edward, Louise, Vanessa and Kate. 30.6.27
Thank you for taking the time to share such a lovely review of Ernstell House.
We are very pleased to hear that you and your family are happy with the home and, most importantly, that you feel your husband is receiving excellent care. Your kind comments about our care assistants...
My Father has had several incidents at the home, due to his Dementia but they are always dealt with, with great support and calm from the staff.
We are very pleased to hear that you find the home friendly, welcoming and supportive. It means a great deal to know that you value the dementia care provided and that you have found the staff caring, calm and...
I feel the care has gone down at Ernstell. We can never find a member of staff when needed an update none of the staff eat the food. I have tasted the food it was awful.my husband has never had pressure sores before he has them now. You don't see any members of staff checking on the residents making they have all they need 70% don't even say Good Morning or Afternoon. Whenever I have complained to the Manager. I have been told, not my words, he isn't a prisoner, move him if you don't like it. Not a good attitude for a Manager.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry and surprised to read that this is how you feel, as we have always aimed to maintain open communication with all family members and to respond constructively to any concerns raised. We take all feedback seriously and will review the...
In particular, the way my sister and I were treated during his final week made us feel incredibly supported and more importantly allowed our Dad to have a dignified and peaceful passing.
When his condition was really going downhill, the staff were nothing but lovely, respectful and calm. In fact, I can say that about everyone that we saw come into his room that week.
After he'd passed, it was comforting to have staff members come up and tell us how much they liked our Dad and how sorry they were that he had died. We were left with a genuine sense that they cared, which is how you hope it would be.
Thank you for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and heartfelt review, and for your kind recommendation of Ernstell House. It means a great deal to read your comments, particularly regarding the care, compassion and support provided to your father and to your family during his final week....

An excellent nursing home that surpasses expectations.
Excellent qualified staff on each shift 24/7.
Well led, bespoke service where the resident is always put first. A rare find but a jewel in the crown.
Lovely to see family included in decision making as well as the resident.
Well done to the whole team from floor up.

My dad has been at Ernstell for approx 1 year now. He is well looked after and treated with dignity. Staff are lovely with him. The accomodation itself is very nice. Good choice of meals. Some good activities organised to keep him stimulated if he wants to take part. Families are kept up to date and included with the activities. Generally we are happy with dad being cared for at Ernstell.
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback about your father's experience at Ernstell House. We are delighted to hear that he is well looked after and treated with dignity, and that you feel confident in the care and support he receives from our team. It is wonderful to know...
The staff and the environment are welcoming and professional. Mum's needs are met and she is very well looked after, which gives me peace of mind knowing she's in good hands. This is a happy place for residents, with lots of effort put into entertainment and daily activities to support various needs. The entire team are positive, supportive, compassionate and open to feedback from visitors. The App is particularly useful as it allows me to see how Mum is doing on days when I'm unable to visit. My Father visits daily to spend time with Mum, and it's a credit to the team that he is treated so well during his visits. I feel that the team, the entertainment and the positive atmosphere are a huge benefit to him, even when he's not a resident. Well done Ernstell House.
Thank you for your wonderful feedback, we strive to care for all the family, not just the resident and I am so pleased that this is your experience. Our staff work hard to ensure that residents live their best life possible and that they have fulfilling days. We will ensure that we pass your positive comments onto the team.
The care home has lots of activities to engage the residents . Food is to a high standard and all staff seem very caring and approachable .I also find the reception staff very helpful and always take note of any comments and requests which involve my Father
Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. Our team work very hard to provide the best care and I will pass on your lovely comments to them. It is so important that your father is able to be involved in the care he receives and I am pleased that he is able to do this and that staff are listening.
Overall, really good/excellent, but no one is perfect! I would say more training needs to be given to recently appointed staff, as whilst trying their best, overlook fundamental processes.
All staff are polite and say hello and the quality and of care is excellent, once everything has been understood.
Thank you for much for your review, we do have a robust induction and training program for all new staff as well as ongoing training for our established team members; however, some of our new members need more support, so we will certainly take note of your comments to make further improvements. I...
The atmosphere is always warm, welcoming, and nothing is ever too much trouble. The home is always clean. The entertainment team, I love their energy and enthusiasm. Dad is very content. Usually looks well. Regular trips to the barbers on site. Clean-shaven. I am overall very, very happy with his care and would highly recommend.
Dear Daniel,
On behalf of the entire team at Ernstell House & Amica Care, we would like to sincerely thank you for your kind words and thoughtful feedback. We are delighted to know that your father feels content and well cared for, and that you are pleased with the warmth, cleanliness, and...
The staff (all) are compassionate and nothing is too much for any of them. The detail and programmes they run for each resident is amazing. After my dad passed I realised how much I had become to feel part of a bigger family and I miss them all even months on. Thank you Ernstell Team for my dads journey and making mine easier to bear.
I will be forever grateful. You are exemplary in every way.
You will not be forgotten.
Thank you for sharing such a moving and heartfelt review of your experience with Ernstell House. We are truly honoured to have been part of your father's end-of-life journey and to know that our team's compassion and dedication brought comfort to both him and your family. It means so much to us...
Ernstell House has been a very positive home for my mother for the last four years. Kind and caring staff, well prepared meals, respectful and professional approach. Am very happy to have had her so well looked after.
Thank you for your thoughtful review and kind words about Ernstell House. It is heartwarming to hear that your mother has felt at home with us over the past four years. Ensuring our residents feel cared for, respected, and supported is at the core of everything we do. We are delighted that you have...
My dad's end of life care was exceptional. All staff were kind, gentle, respectful, not only to dad but to me and my family. I'm only sorry dad was with them for a short time. Their knowledge and training in full blown dementia is exemplary and they should be rewarded for their activity schedule. Amazing for what remaining cognition the residents enjoyed. If you wanted any further endorsement, I would do it in an instance. Whilst not the cheapest care home, money does actually become irrelevant when you know your loved one is in expertly caring hands. Well done, I will miss you.
My wife has been at Ernstell House Nursing Home for a month now. It takes time for dementia patients to settle into a new place, but the staff have really done a great job to help her. They give her a lot of love, which in her other home was neglected so much. This gives me less pressure and no worries. All the nurses are so kind to my wife, making sure that she is comfortable all the time.
Thank you for your kind words, I will certainly feed back your comments to the team, we are very pleased she is settling in well.
The home is well-laid out in a lovely setting, garden's lovely to sit in weather- permitting. First port on entering is the reception. Friendly staff and the care of staff giving to. Patients treated with dignity. The rooms are well thought out and a good size, safety and security is very good. Cleanliness is very good, food good. Activities are very good for residents. Overall the home is well thought-out.
Surprisingly less unsettling than I imagined. The home was very clean, tidy and bright. Plenty of light and air. My friend's room was decent, although lack of fresh air was very noticeable. Her carers were outstanding. I understand the home company only pays the carers minimum wage and we are not happy with this; living wage with bonuses for performance should be introduced. We definitely did not like the crowded dining room at meal times, it was as if everyone had to be herded in at once!
We will certainly...
A beautiful home in a beautiful setting. The moment you step inside you can feel the love and care given to both residents and their families. The home itself is filled with wonderful staff, who really care for all. It's a pleasure to visit, well done to all for filling the home with love and laughter.
Thank you for taking the time to write this wonderful review. We are incredibly proud of our fantastic team and will ensure this is shared with them.
