View Full Details of Woodcroft Care HomeI have never met a carer so dedicated and as lovely as Boomie. She is always so happy and smiling, so very helpful too. Will is lovely too, he is always so positive when helping dad with his medication. The staff here are all lovely, and thank you for looking after my dad.
All care & support staff have been excellent with phenomenal care & attention paid to the resident. They have all respected her outlook on life, religious wishes and calm demeanour. Management has been changeable over the years as has their attitude. They have with left after being confrontational and not respectful. I depend solely on the dedicated staff to provide the best care. One carer has been wonderful as has many staff over the years including senior nurse.
My mother has since passed after being in this care home not only were 2 people dismissed back in 2024 for duty of care regarding my mum which the then manager was absolutely amazing and could not apologise enough. Again in May this year another night time carer was suspended from duties for being verbally threatening behaviour towards my mum pointing at her and shouting with a horrid manner. Over a few days then mum had falls out of her room in the night or early hrs where she landed up in hospital. Mum deteriorated and within 5 weeks mum passed away. We recommend anyone to put cameras in room as if we never we would never have know . This care home has gone down hill since a new manager was appointed in February of this year. Daytime staff on 1st floor, though could not fault, they showed mum a lot of care.
My mother is cared for very well. The staff are great and very supportive. There is a full curriculum of stimulating activities for the residents entertainment. My mothers physical health has improved since being there, and I think it's because she now has a balanced nourishing diet.
Mum has been at this home nearly 5-6 years. She has settled in very well. When she arrived she was nonverbal. But now she is very settled and speaks well. Staff are fantastic, always happy to assist. It's a very welcoming home. No smells, very clean. I'm very pleased with the home Mum is in. Thank you staff.
I would like the thank everyone for the excellent care given to my mother-in-law which is down to the staff. She enjoys the food, the entertainment and the respect they show her. She says it's home from home. Well done Woodcroft.
My putative mother-in-law has just finished four weeks of respite care at Woodcroft and the experience for her, and us as visitors, has been fantastic. The home is modern, spacious, clean, and airy, and the staff have all been very friendly and welcoming. My mother-in-law has been very comfortable and content there, and spent some time saying fond goodbyes to other residents and staff. We and, I'm sure she, would be perfectly happy if Woodcroft were to become her permanent home in the future. Thanks again to all staff and management who have made her stay so comfortable.
My mother needed respite care urgently so we had no say in where she was placed. I was very anxious and concerned about where she was going to be. However, the minute we walked through the door I felt so much happier - every member of staff we have met has been warm, welcoming and so helpful. The home is light, airy and comfortable with a real family feel to it. We met the absolutely fantastic manager - she is so approachable, has great energy and commitment and is also extremely professional with a clear vision and values. Her leadership is demonstrated in the whole ethos of the home and I have no doubt she will improve things even more over time. My mother is very happy there and thoroughly enjoys the varied activities. She also loves the food which is great quality. I have no hesitation in recommending Woodcroft as a genuinely caring, safe, friendly home from home for respite or permanent care. Well done everyone and thank you so much.
My wife came to Woodcroft in May 2022 for respite and has been a resident since. Woodcroft is not the Ritz, but it's clean and homely, the staff are amazing nothing is too much trouble, my wife as far as I am concerned is well looked after, and neither my family nor I have any issues. I can honestly say this with a hand on my heart, the staff and management team are so friendly and welcoming, if I do have any issues at any time they are soon remedied. If I had to go into a care home at any time in the future I would have no problem with coming here, in actual fact I was looked after here, after I had an operation in December 2023. I can't name any one member of staff or agency staff as they are all equally excellent. The food is always hot and tasty.
The cleanliness of my father's room and the home has improved since earlier in the year. Laundry services need improvement with regard to a lot of clothes having been lost.
Took an elderly veteran friend to visit his wife. The gentleman had not been able to see his wife due to cancer treatment. What should have been a lovely visit turned out to be an upsetting one, due to the unprofessional manner of the manager on the top floor. Total lack of respect to myself, a visitor to the home. Asked why we had visited and not asked permission! My gentlemen called the day before and asked if it was ok, the lady even said how lovely/nice. I was not believed on asking the same question 3 times. Told me there was Covid on the floor! The receptionist would have said don't visit! Proceeded to tell me that my gentleman could get it from his wife! Accused me of videoing the visit when I was watching a video to give the couple privacy to talk! If this person can speak to a visitor in this way, I wouldn't want my family member in the home. Floor Manager needs retraining in my opinion to treat people in a more respectful way.
My mother arrived at Woodcroft Care Home in July and her care has been fantastic. A few hiccups in the first few weeks but the staff and management went above and beyond to ensure they were sorted. My mother felt at home and settled in. We are now six months in and it feels like she has been there forever. We are on first name terms with staff, my mother shares banter and laughter with the staff on a daily basis, nothing is too much trouble for them, it's like a five star hotel and my mother is well at home here.
Following an extremely stressful and upsetting year with our dad, it was the best and safest option for him to go into a care home. We chose Woodcroft as we were highly recommended by a few family friends who had a positive experience here. Since my dad moved in, couldn't be happier - although it's an anxious time and Dad has taken a while to settle the staff have been absolutely amazing. So professional but always so helpful, kind and personable - nothing is ever too much trouble. From my very first point of contact, I have nothing but thanks and praise for the whole team. We can now rest at night knowing our dad is safe and really well looked after. Dad is not yet ready to be involved with all the activities but I know in time he will be. So grateful to everyone at Woodcroft, thanks so much.
As a first experience of dealing with having a family member in a care home, it is tough. Then add Covid! Communication has been a challenge with the home. Not a negative, a challenge. For example, knowing what we as a family need to provide (clothes, toiletries etc) and knowing about social media groups. Personal challenge has been the constant change in Covid rules and signing in and out of visits. Also knowing staff can take videos and photos of family and post them online... not sure that sits right with me.
After watching my mother for the past year in the care home, I have enjoyed watching her taking part in all the events organised by the carers team. Seeing Mum laugh, smile and take part in events is fantastic. Mum used to say that she was lovely, but not anymore. She enjoys the singing, especially the choir. Value for money - the safety of my mother heads much, much more value for money - question needs to be reworded!
When it became obvious that my mother needed constant care, we were very happy to be offered a place at Woodcroft. She has settled in well and seems quite content. Although she doesn’t always remember, she takes part in the many activities on offer. Whenever we go to visit her the staff always have time for a chat and keep us informed of any concerns they may have about mum. We can’t thank everyone at Woodcroft enough for their care and dedication.
Staff are always friendly and cooperative, happy to engage with the service user but have to be reminded of certain aids used (hearing aids not always given). Very small criticism. The care home is very clean and the food is excellent. I have very little, if any, interaction with management above seniors on the 'shop floor' - who are amazing.
My mother is very happy at Woodcroft and loves most of the staff. She is well looked after, enjoys the food and loves the social activities. My only complaint is the cost, how can a non-profit organisation increase the weekly contribution by 8.5% when the inflation rate is less than 2%.
The residents seem very happy in the home. The difference between this home and the previous home Father was in is like night and day. While the previous one was almost twice as expensive - he mostly isolated with very little contact with staff whereas in this home he talks to people and doesn't seem to want to leave.
I am really happy with the care given to my mum. The staff are always supportive and caring. The only complaint I have is mixed communication during visits, not all staff know what's going on. Firstly we are told visits are allowed to everyone, then when we arrive only designated visitors allowed.
