View Full Details of Laurel Care HomeLaurel Care Home has been the best care for my grandmother. She moved to this home in February 2024 for nursing care and the care she has received has been second to none. I am always kept updated on her needs and if she requires any medical attention. The home is always clean. The staff are always friendly, welcoming, organised and always put on many activities for the residents. I couldn't ask for a better place for my grandma, knowing she is well looked after certainly takes a lot off of my shoulders.
My father, who has dementia and Alzheimer's has been so wonderfully looked after this year. He is a private person who has welcomed the care he has received. He is always mentioning how nice 'the carers' are, that includes all staff: receptionists, laundry, catering, 'pink ladies' (although he doesn't join in activities), gardeners and DIY/maintenance staff. Dad likes to see what's going on outside. He was a great gardener. All nurses are approachable and act instantly on any worries or concerns that I may have. I really can't thank them enough. My father has another family in this home who I can trust and be assured that I do not worry about his care.
Laurel Care Home is everything I could have hoped for for the care of my Father. The facilities, his room and care provided is first rate. Most of all it is the staff, they are friendly, caring communicative and professional and I have full trust in them. Since my Dad arrived at Laurel Care home I have relaxed in the knowledge that he is safe, well and happy. Sleeping is now a lot easier at night.
We cannot praise Laurel Care Home enough. My father stayed here for the last few weeks of his life and he was treated with the utmost respect and care. The home is lovely, the staff are lovely and my father was happy here and we knew he was getting the best care. I cannot thank the team enough. Special thanks to the staff on reception. Both are lovely ladies.
Laurel Care Home is special. We entrusted our mum to their care, and they took away all our worries. Mum could not have been in a better place. All the staff that cared for Mum were just so caring, kind and compassionate. Her room was lovely. The food was great. They didn't just look after Mum; they looked after her family too. Always asking if we were ok. An extraordinary place with exceptional staff.
Mum has been a resident for nearly two years. She has dementia and limited mobility. She is very well cared for and has a lovely room overlooking the well-kept, established garden. The staff are very helpful and friendly, and communication is good. There are lovely facilities for residents to spend time in as well as regular entertainment. Unfortunately, Mum chooses not to participate but loves her planned days out.
My review of the Laurel Care Home is very positive and honest. When we were looking for a facility to care for Mum last year we were impressed by what The Laurels had available! Unfortunately, Mum has become totally bedbound unless being hoisted out of bed and cannot appreciate all the facilities on offer. When I answered the value for money box below I have to say that The Laurel is one of the most expensive facilities, and I was shocked not to have received the funded nursing care as this was kept by The Laurel.
Mum is not only well cared for but she also enjoys all the activities and outings. The staff are very caring, appreciating her needs and take care of all her medical needs ensuring she gets all her medication at the right time. Her room is well equipped with a view of the garden where she can sit out on a nice day. The care home staff keep us well informed of any problems.
Mum has been resident since February 2020. Mum had mild dementia on1st entering, this has progressively worsened over the 3 years along with her physical mobility. Mum always tells me how safe and secure she feels. She loves her room and always feels well looked after, telling me how kind and caring the staff are, which I totally agree with. She loves the food and appreciates the quality of it. Her room and the home as a whole always seem very clean. There are activities to join in every day, sadly Mum is very deaf so struggles in social situations, thus choosing more and more not to join in. I have only given 4 stars for facilities as I feel its a shame that the main communal rooms are on the 1st floor and not ground level. I've only given 4 stars for value for money as I believe the home now receives well over £6000 a month from private and NHS funding, which I personally feel is a little steep for the level of overall care Mum receives at this moment in time.
My mother has been at Laurel Care Home for nearly two years and has been extremely well cared for. The rooms are excellent and the staff is very kind and friendly. The food is excellent and I have been very happy with the support Mum has had. The nursery care has also been very good.
My mother has been living at Laurel Care Home for five years and I have never had an issue with them. She is well cared for and has always felt very safe. Her wishes have always been respected. Although she is very infirm she is taken out on trips and this adds to her mental well-being. I feel reassured that Laurel Care take great care of her and for that, I will be eternally grateful.
The home is always well staffed and are friendly and helpful. It is always clean, tidy and the gardens are really well tended to. There are daily activities which are varied to keep things different. Weather permitting staff quite often take the residents into the garden.
The care given to my mother exceeded our expectations although I had to request a bath and hair wash for her. Mum stayed for two weeks respite to give relief to me and for her own health and safety. We were hoping that mum would wish to stay permanently but she missed her own home - mum is 102 years old. Mum commented that she was impressed with the care given and could not fault anything.
Our father spent his final year at Laurel during which time he received excellent care during his last days. My sister and I stayed with him overnight and the staff could not have done more for us or dad we would definitely recommend Laurel Care Home.
I have put my mother into this care home because she had a few days' respite there a few years ago. They were so kind and gentle with her that I decided to use this home when she needed full-time care. Now 103 she is very contented. The room suits her and she enjoys the food. The staff are very helpful from the time I walk through the main doors until my visit is over. They keep me informed if they feel I need to know anything.
After a great struggle to find a home for my sister in law we found Laurel Care. All homes are a lottery and in this case, we came up trumps. My ratings of excellent may seem over the top but I would stand by all of them. With the choice we made there were never any regrets only many, many thanks and peace of mind.
My mother has been at Laurel Care Home for about nine months and I have been very happy with the level of care she has received. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. The level of cleanliness is of a high standard throughout the home.
Excellent care in all aspects. Lovely, homely feel, great food, all staff treat their clients with great care and respect, as though they were their own relative. The entertainment for the clients is continual if they wish to attend or be involved, although COVID has stopped their trips out. I would recommend anyone I know to go there - I have been to less welcoming and well run four-star hotels.
Our friend was a difficult and challenging case, having both a tracheostomy and a gastrostomy, but Laurel Care Home gave him a home and cared for him with compassion and kindness. Always ready to help, the staff were always friendly and our friend told us they were very good to him. He was as happy as he could be under his unusual circumstances.
During the time my cousin spent in Laurel Care Home, she received excellent care. The staff were very attentive and helpful. Her room was always clean and tidy, and her clothing was washed and put away in her cupboards. My wife and I visited her most Friday afternoons, and I asked her many times if she was happy being at the home; she said, 'It is much better than the two other places'. I would recommend Laurel Care Home to everyone.
