Mum has been resident at Bramble Cottage for the past 4 months. During that time, she has received the very best of care delivered with patience and understanding. Every member of staff from the care home manager to nursing staff, cleaning staff and kitchen staff have gone above and beyond to ensure
mum has felt as if she were at home. Their care has allowed mum to recover and return home!

My only disappointment was my room, small, the most uncomfortable chair which could not be changed, old very limited TV and bed not comfortable. I also had to ask for replacement pillows as they were so bad. But the shower room was superb. All staff were kind, smiling and willing. Everything ran
smoothly which must be complicated to achieve, food well planned and good, nice to be able to eat in your room as often I did not feel well to go down.

When our dear friends who we have known for almost 40 years was finding it hard to cope at home and looking to move into a care home we suggested she tried Bramble Cottage as my mother-in-law had convalesced there 20 years ago. She moved in in June last year and settled down very quickly. She has
a good sized bedroom overlooking the beautiful garden and enjoys watching the bird and animal life. She says staff are so kind and she feels very safe. She only has to press the button she carries around her neck and someone comes. She has told us she really enjoys the food and the activities and new social life. Previously she lived by her self and felt very isolated, especially living in a hilly part of Brighton. It was very hard for her to leave the house she had lived in for more than 60 years, but moving into such a lovely Care Home as Brambles has given her a new lease of life.

My mother has been at Bramble Cottage for over a year and is very happy there. The staff are excellent, they are caring, friendly and go out of their way to make her feel happy, safe and very well cared for. There are plenty of social events and personal requests such as food choices are well
catered for. I cannot recommend Bramble Cottage highly enough.

My dad arrived at Bramble Cottage in a pretty bad way after mixing up his medication and not eating properly. The staff were so caring. He enjoyed the food and the company of other residents, and was often able to eat out in the beautiful garden when the weather was nice. After 2 weeks of wonderful
respite care he was back to his old self and able to return home and live independently.

We were visiting my Godmother for the first time. All the staff were very welcoming and friendly. My Godmother had a turn when we were attempting to take her out. The staff were so quick to act and were very caring. I was very impressed with the efficiency, kindness and friendliness of every staff
member we encountered. The place is lovely, comfortable and warm. I know that my Godmother is being very well taken care of

I was made very welcome at Bramble Cottage by both staff and residents. Although only there for a few weeks, I was made to feel as important to them as if I was to be there permanently. I found it a very homely place and my visitors were also warmly welcomed. It was always very clean and airy. I was
invited to join in the activities and although I often had visitors I enjoyed taking part in the quiz. I would certainly recommend it to any friends looking for a retirement home either for themselves or a relative.

The staff are all wonderful, caring, kind and so helpful. My mum was at Bramble Cottage for over two years and she was so happy there. During her last few months before she passed away she was extremely poorly but the care and attention she was given by all the staff was amazing.

A very positive & uplifting experience of respite care. I would not be so far forward in confidence & recovery without the help & assistance I received in Bramble Cottage. A very good programme of activities to cover the abilities of residents, & of course the lovely garden space.
Thank you all for
your care.

Our Mum had a fall at home, where she lives independently, and after a few nights in hospital required a stay for recuperation with medical care. Bramble was a perfect choice of location for local and visiting family and friends.
The manager has a lovely team of carers who were very kind from the
outset in reassuring us that Ma was in a good place and that she would benefit from their tailored considered and gentle care.
With routines and opportunity to socialise, I really saw a noticeable change in Ma very quickly.
I actually became very fond of the place and would also like to express my thanks to the other residents for their friendship towards us as a family.
I am hugely grateful to all at Bramble for all that they do, so very well, and wouldn't hesitate in recommending it to anyone.

All the staff are very friendly and welcoming and will go the 'extra mile' as a regular behaviour.
The food is excellent and the management are very involved in the care given to residents. The support given to my mother and myself has been exemplary.
I have no hesitation in recommending Bramble
Cottage.

I spent two weeks at Bramble Cottage after surgery. It is a lovely place with some beautiful rooms overlooking a pretty garden. The staff and management strike a very good balance of caring for residents whilst enabling them to be as independent as they wish/are able. I especially appreciated being
able to eat in my room as I wasn't very mobile. Nothing was too much trouble and the weekly activities were enthusiastically undertaken. My only reservation was about the quality of the food - which was edible without being inspiring. But there was a choice and you could request alternatives. I could see that many permanent residents didn't seem to have much appetite. Overall, I found it a very good experience and met some lovely people. Thank you.

My husband, who is handicapped with Alzheimer's, was looked after very well during five weeks of respite. He was made to feel very welcome and encouraged to join the activities, which he enjoyed. All members of staff are friendly, caring and helpful.
Bramble Cottage feels clean and fresh and exudes
a nice, homely and welcoming atmosphere.

Bramble Cottage is warm and caring, has an extremely good atmosphere and the staff are its biggest asset. Nothing is too much trouble for them. All tasks are always coupled with a smile. They are very approachable and always available. There is a beautiful garden which residents are welcome to
enjoy. There are activities available on most days. The food is good, with seasonal menus. The only downside is the showers which need updating.

After my dad's health deteriorated quite rapidly, he moved into Bramble Cottage.
A beautiful home, with beautiful gardens and the most wonderful staff. After years of caring for my dad, I had absolutely no reservations of him being cared for at Bramble Cottage. I was able to be his daughter again
instead of his carer, which I'll be forever grateful for.
All the staff made us feel welcome from the start and my dad couldn't believe how lucky he was to be staying in such a lovely home. His wishes and dignity was respected throughout his time at Bramble Cottage. The staff were attentive and incredibly caring.
Thank you all for looking after my lovely dad.

I have cared for my dear late wife for several years mainly at our home in Brighton. Over that time she has not enjoyed good health. Her mobility was very poor and she became virtually housebound. Our son and daughter became concerned about us saying the time had come for both of us to go into care.
My wife was 91 years old and I am 90 years old. They told us they had visited Bramble Cottage Retirement Home in Brighton, speaking to the manager, looking at rooms etc and the excellent garden and patio and the cost involved. As a result, we became resident at that home in July 2022. The completed options below which I did are true in every sense. I am type 2 diabetic although I take insulin. The manager personally takes notice of my daily readings and insulin injected. In the early hours of Friday 18th November 2022, my dear wife of 67 years died peacefully in Bramble Cottage. The carers on duty gave comfort to me, my daughter and granddaughter. They advised for my late wife to be legally examined and pronounced dead and later to be taken away by our chosen funeral directors. Her funeral took place on 6th December 2022.
