View Full Details of Kingland House Residential HomeWhen I moved my wife into Kingland House I had various problems with her. This made for a 'messy' transition from my point. It was not made clear enough, to me, that I should have left her there, and not return for a few days. Had I fully understood I would have tried to comply, but realistically it still would have been a problem. The staff have been excellent, and I am certain that my wife will settle down soon, but I feel that I may have inadvertently caused a problem for them. For this, I apologise.
Kingland continues to offer kind and supportive care. My friend, who I visit, is - so far as can be ascertained - happy in his situation and enjoys the visits of entertainers, especially when animals are involved.
Kingland House treat my Mum with care. They try and give her a better quality of life. She has dementia however they never seem to give up up on her and they are constantly reviewing her care. I trust the team.
My mother has often been left in her room until late morning before being dressed and taken to the lounge. This has left her feeling very isolated and has started to regret her decision to move into the home. Whilst I appreciate there are issues about her toileting requirements I still feel that she needs to be in the lounge earlier in the morning. She has also made comments that although most of the staff are kind there are some, mostly male, that are not very gentle when attending her needs. However apart rom the above comments I have always been pleased with the appearance of the home and the entertainment provided although my mother in her elderly state cannot take advantage of what is on offer.
The care and attention given to my wife, who is bed bound, by all the staff is above excellent. They are amazing in the way they look after my wife, who has severe dementia , and i know she is in best possible place given her condition. Everyone looks after me when i visit my wife.
The staff at Kingland house have gone above and beyond to support my 86 year old mother who arrived with quick onset of dementia and bed bound. She was a challenge for the team to meet her high needs but they have shown genuine care and compassion, patience and a willingness to help my mother be as comfortable as possible at this stressful moment and stage of life. Thank you. I am utterly grateful and relieved my mum is there at this point and my father can finally look after himself at home.
My mother is very happy and finds the staff very attentive. Her room has good light. The administrator is super helpful and all the care staff are very nice. My mother likes trips to the garden.
I am so grateful to the staff at Kingland House for the ongoing care they give my brother as his Dementia has progressed and mobility decreased. I am kept fully informed of significant changes and consulted when necessary. Thank you to all involved with his care.
The care given by the staff, and the facilities, at Kingland House, Poole, is consistently excellent and cannot be faulted. As a regular visitor I am made welcome and appreciated. I look forward to my visits and always leave feeling uplifted and that my wife, a resident, is in the best possible place given her condition.
My dad is happy and well looked after by the continuing care and support received by the staff on every level. I cannot express enough how the kindness and support that the staff give my Dad makes such a difference to his overall mental and physical health. Despite having a number of health issues that are debilitating and progressive, he looks better than before he became a resident 18 months ago. Most importantly, he is settled and happier, and feels safe and comfortable. Thank you, everyone, for making this happen, and giving back some quality of life to Dad.
My elderly father moved into the home a few months ago. He has settled well and is very happy in his new surroundings. The staff and management are kind, caring, understanding and professional. Not only have they made my Dad feel welcome they have also made us as a family feel included too.
My mother is very well looked after at Kingland House Residential Home. Several different members of staff check to see if she needs anything during the day and nothing is too much trouble. There are plenty of activities for residents to participate in should they wish. There is also a lovely garden to sit in whilst the weather is good and both residents and visitors are welcome to use it.
Unfortunately due to a life-changing illness, my grandfather is no longer able to live independently at home. It was a difficult decision to find a care home for him, but I can't fault Kingland House at all. They have done everything possible to encourage my granddad to join in with the many varied activities and the room he has is kept immaculately clean. The staff area is always friendly, smiling and very welcoming. I honestly can say I have peace of mind that he is being well cared for and it's nice to see all the photos etc. on the social media channels. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the home whether it's for rest bite or on a more permanent basis. The location of the home is perfect for a walk to the park or into town.
The staff were friendly, helpful and competent. We always felt that Dad was being well cared for. We were impressed that residents always left their rooms to eat in the dining room, regardless of how much effort it took.
My mum has been a resident at Kingland House for just over 3 years. She arrived very unwell and anxious but with kindness, patience and good care, her health and wellbeing slowly returned. I visit weekly and have been lucky enough to join in with chair exercises, I’ve had a game of bingo, I’ve also seen many different singers while visiting. Kingland House share a lot of photos on social media of the residents enjoying the activities and outings. It’s lovely to see the residents having fun. The location of Kingland House is perfect for a walk into town, Poole Quay or Poole Park. There is always a wheelchair available to use.
Very grateful for the level of attention and professionalism demonstrated by all the staff. If we raise queries, they are dealt with very quickly. Good level of care and understanding about issues arising for someone with dementia. Good link up with local GP. Garden is lovely and so well maintained. Thanks to everyone.
The staff, cleaners and entertainment staff are very friendly and professional in everything they do. My mum is bedbound and when we ask them to come in and see to her, they are there quickly and nothing is too much trouble. They are all hard-working and caring individuals and a special mention to the receptionist at the door - she is always polite and she has to keep getting up to let us in and out. Thank you Kingland House, my mum is well cared for and it puts the family's mind at rest.
My mum has been in Kingland House for a few years with dementia. It’s the wonderful care from the staff and amazing carers that she is so comfortable and all her needs taken care of. They keep me informed of any changes or concerns and there is never an issue if I want to see her. I live a long way from the care home and they understand this and accommodate my visits to see her. It’s a lovely kind, caring, compassionate home. There are always things happening to stimulate the residents. Unfortunately, my mum can’t join in these but it’s lovely that others can. I used to worry constantly about her, but I know she has the best care from the home and her needs are met.
My mother-in-law has been in Kingland House for a couple of years and is very happy there. If I have had any issues, they have been sorted quickly. All the staff at Kingland House are very helpful and friendly. The only downside I would say is that some of the meetings or events are during the working day, and as we work, we are not able to attend. As long as mum is happy, then the family is happy. Many thanks to all at Kingland House.
Mum agreed to try two weeks of respite care over Christmas and is now on her second two weeks with the intention to make it permanent. She settled in very well within a few days, enjoying all the company. She really enjoys being in the lounge and playing games, etc. She has a nice quiet, ground-floor room and is well cared for. It’s lovely to see that she is happy there.
