The Risings is a truly outstanding care home with an ethos and level of genuine care that I have not found elsewhere. I would liken the environment to a family where the management, the staff, the residents and the relatives friends all work together to create as positive experience as possible for
the residents. The management adopt a learning/listening style always keen to review and hear whats going on - and willing to take action include driving proactive change for the better. The staff are positive, caring and with patience beyond a functional care role. The facilities are well maintained with action taken to replace or improve before it is needed.

The Risings is a wonderful care home. The staff are amazing, there is always something going on to entertain the residents, there is also a quieter room if they prefer not to get involved. Residents are treated with respect and everything is always clean and tidy. I would highly recommend The
Risings.

My mum has lived at The Risings since April 2025 after being diagnosed with vascular dementia. At the time of her movung in, she was very troubled by negative thoughts, voices and beliefs. Any stress was too much for her. The care, patience and attention to her individual needs shown on a daily
basis by the Risings team has gradually led to her becoming more herself again. As her family, we are now able to enjoy quality time with her, both at The Risings, in our homes, or on days out doing things she enjoys. We know that all of her care needs are being provided and carefully monitored by the staff team. They always involve me in discussions if there are any concerns or noticable changes in her mood or health, and I feel we work together well to keep my mum as happy and healthy as possible. She is definitely enjoying the food and being able to have a nice soak in the bath again! Thank you!!

Our Mum has settled extremely well at The Risings after relocating from her previous care provision in December.. Since moving in, her medication has been carefully reviewed, which has made a significant and positive difference. She is now sleeping through the night, and her anxiety has noticeably
improved.
She has developed strong, trusting relationships with the staff, which is incredibly reassuring for us as a family. It is clear that she feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for. Mum is eating and drinking well, has a consistent daily routine, and looks very well in herself. This is a clear reflection of the high standard of care and attention she receives every day.
As a family, we are extremely pleased with all aspects of the home-the warm and welcoming environment, excellent management, kind and professional staff, clear and regular communication, the high level of care, and the varied activities programme provided. Most importantly, Mum is benefitting from living there.

The care my mother receives at the home is extremely professional and delivered with due diligence and passion by all the staff at the home. She could not be looked after any better and I am so greatful she is under their care. This has given me peace of mind during her ongoing care. Thanks again to

The Risings is an excellent care home. My mother had been a resident for almost two years. I am thrilled with the care and support that has been given to both my mother and the rest of the family. The staff are friendly and approachable. They respond quickly to any medical issues and provide
excellent communication with families.

The Risings is a friendly place and is kept really neat and clean. The staff look after all the residents with care and attention, they are always clean and tidy. When visiting you are made to feel welcome. They have a good team of people working for them, the residents are kept busy with different
activities each day. Residents look fit and well so food must be good, can't really comment on it too much as we don't visit during meal times. Dementia care it good.

At my inital meeting with the staff, prior to my husband becoming a day resident, the manager/deputy manager listened to everything I had to say to enable them to better meet his needs on a daily basis. As we arrive at The Risings each morning the staff are always welcoming. There is a family,
caring atmosphere. A wide variety of activities ensure that my husband is engaged throughout the day both by staff or visiting persons. Residents with health issues are monitored throughout the day.This is the case with my husband's care. I am kept informed of my husband's medical needs. A visiting local doctor reviews medication regularly. The staff provide excellent care for my husband. They meet his needs medically, physically and socially. I have found that the staff at The Risings provide excellent care for my husband.

My Dad sadly passed away in April after 14 months of being cared for in the Risings.
Dad initially attended for day care, then became a permanent resident. He settled in much better than I expected, I suspect this was due to the kindness and attention of the staff. We were still able to take him
out for pub lunches etc, but he never complained when returning to the Risings, as he was always greeted with a smile and made a fuss of.
I was a frequent visitor and observed how the carers were focused on the needs of individual residents and helped them to reach their full potential. The activities were also aimed at helping residents by encouraging both physical exercise and mental stimulation in a happy atmosphere.
Dad was a fussy eater and attempts were made to accommodate him.
Everywhere was kept clean. Any concerns were efficiently dealt with.
Dad received palliative care during his last 2 months, he was kept comfortable and pain free thanks to the wonderful Risings family. Thank you.

My husband is receiving daycare 3 days a week, has also been for 2 weeks respite recently. He benefits from the communication of staff all who are professional, caring, friendly, and helpful. The kitchen staff take note of their food preferences and allergies. It is a very structured Care Home but
not regimental as the residents have visitors who bring little treats to share. The management are very helpful and caring always ready to listen and help, nothing too much trouble. I don't have any issues, it is very much a home-from-home ambience.

I find the ownership and staff at The Risings to be efficient, pleasant and above all caring to the residents. My wife has been a resident for 6 months now and after a difficult settling-in period, she has responded well to the kindness and attention from the staff, I am now able to relax in the
knowledge that she is happy at The Risings, and I can now take her out for meals and coffee and visits to relatives, safe in the knowledge that she is happy to be taken back without the anxiousness she showed during her settling in period. Alzheimer's is a trauma for both the patient and their families but I believe the manager, her parents and her team of carers are doing a fine job and I sincerely thank them for the care they show my wife.

My mum went to daycare at The Risings. Even though she only went 3/4 times she enjoyed it there. Unfortunately, my mum had a fall in February and was in hospital for some time. I had Mum's name on the waiting list to live there permanently but when Mum came out of hospital there were no rooms, that
were suitable, available. I have spoken to staff recently and can't praise them enough. They are professional, caring, thoughtful, friendly and helpful. The kitchen staff take time to speak to the individual to ask about food preferences. The manager was so helpful, nothing too much trouble. On the whole, it is a home-from-home atmosphere and a huge thank you for making my mum's days there enjoyable.

My mother-in-law is in a nice clean care home and is well looked after. The staff are brilliant with her I have no issues at all, she is happy in there, would highly recommend the care home to anyone who needs to place their relatives there.

This relates to many months during which my wife has been a regular user where she attends for daycare. She has vascular dementia. Our experience has been truly excellent. I love it when I collect her and hear things like "It has been brilliant. I have had a lovely time". The home does not seem at
all typical of such premises and care is consistently excellent. Altogether our experience has been as good as what we have to live through can be. Thank you.

The staff are just wonderful-kind, and caring and compassion shines through every single member of staff. The team are knowledgeable and supportive of the individual and the family alike. They go above and beyond every day.

We couldn't be happier with The Risings. My Mum settled in really well from day one and the staff could not be more welcoming and caring. My Mum has dementia and we are more than confident that her needs are being met and the staff are extremely approachable if we have any questions or queries. We
are kept very well informed at all times too. There is always something going on to keep the residents entertained and it's lovely to see Mum so happy.

The staff and management are caring, well organised, professional people. They are compassionate and will help in every way they can, they listen to anything you have to say and will offer advice that could help. Very clean, friendly home.

The carers who look after my mother are polite, responsive and seem to have a good rapport with her. The home is always very clean and runs efficiently. They respond to any inputs from me and they are happy to take on any suggestions which will add to my mother's experience of her stay.

Incredibly thoughtful and attentive in caring for my mum. Spotted and acted on a physical illness really quickly recently. Very good communication with the manager and the whole team. Such a wonderful care home with amazing staff.

My wife was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease in January and it soon became clear that she would require residential care. My son (a director of a Hospital Trust) and my daughter (a GP with responsibility for care homes in Portsmouth) helped me investigate all homes within a 25-mile radius. We
found only two that we considered to be acceptable with The Risings having the edge. My wife and I first went to The Risings on 4th May when we were given a guided tour of the whole premises by the Manager. We were both impressed by the ambience which resembled a spotless, well-run, happy upmarket hotel. There was a clear distinctive positive energy - going in my wife was terrified, referring to it as "the kennels" but, on leaving, said, "it's a really wonderful place". She began as a day resident on 23rd May, becoming "full-time" on 29th July. The whole family is grateful for the professional, loving care that she is receiving. Thank you to the wonderful team at The Risings.
