View Full Details of Ivelhurst Nursing Home LtdMy wife was admitted quickly to Ivelhurst after all attempts to nurse her at home had failed, and settled in, although Vascular Dementia made this difficult for her. Eating became difficult, and staff helped with this. Her doctor visited and explained the road ahead. During my wife's final days, I visited from 5 am and my daughters throughout the day. My wife died peacefully with our daughters and myself with her. She was at all times treated professionally with care, compassion and love. Following her death, she was washed and dressed in clothes of our choice, ready for the undertaker. During her time at Ivelhurst, we all became one family. Meals, cakes and drinks always available. Our worries were taken away, and she was in safe hands.
My mam stayed at Ivelhurst Nursing Home in Yeovil for a week and she loved it. Mum interacted with the staff and other residence as well as joining in the activities. Mum has been in the nursing home before and normally she moans and complaints bout everything. It was nice to see mum had enjoyed herself.
The team at Ivelhurst leave me full of confidence that my dad has the best quality of care. Despite his condition meaning that he can be rude or unkind, the staff are always like his best friend as well as his carers. They really do care. Naga particularly makes him smile, this is all I can ask for. Thank you all so much.
I cannot say enough good things concerning the staff's devotion to patient care is second to none. They couldn't do enough for father during his end of life care and they were so kind to the whole family when we were visiting dad.
Although mum was only with you for 5 weeks, the care and support she got was very good. The staff were always very kind to her and our family when we visited her. In her final days, she was cared for so well with love and understanding and most importantly respect for us all.
Ivelhurst Nursing Home have worked hard to settle my sister into their nursing home. All the staff I have met have been attentive and thoughtful.
My aunt is settled and generally happy at Ivelhurst. Food is much improved and my aunt eats well. She is always clean and looks cared for. Activities seem to concentrate on the care side of the home which involves transferring residential residents for activities. The activities do seem to have improved over the summer months hopefully more activities are planned on the residential side for the winter months. Regular newsletters via email are an improvement also.
Staff always friendly.Obviously hard working and caring. Hospitable welcome and very cost and clean communal reception TV room. Residents are attended to carers always at hand - display kindness and patience. Feel confident my friend is looked after.
We have been entirely impressed by the level of care and organisation at Ivelhurst, since my Uncle moved there two weeks ago. The staff are kind and professional, they speak with the residents respectfully and gently, and treat each person as the individual they are. Each time we visit my Uncle, we are greeted with genuine hospitality, and we would have no reservation in recommending this excellent home.
Very well looked after for 2 weeks respite care. The staff very friendly, professional and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. Very happy stand would would go again. A room with facilities would make life easier.
This is a home which puts the care and welfare of its residents above all else. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and there is an excellent ratio of staff to residents. The needs of each individual are assessed in detail and communicated with all the carers so that residents feel relaxed and part of a welcoming family. The food is nutritious, home cooked and plentiful, as well as being delicious. Ivelhurst is an exceptional home.
The current day staff are wonderfully welcoming and from what we can see, are genuinely thoughtful and attentive to our friend/resident. Our friend though does require more hands-on attention than other residents and it would be reassuring at some point soon to see an extra member of staff qualified as it were to help our friend visit the toilet a little more often. This is in no way due to any form of slackness from the current staff, just simply a possible staffing number concern that should be pro-actively addressed by management. The above said we do completely appreciate that the current day staff do their very best to meet all of our friend's needs. I very much hope that the management of this home recognise the quality of staff that they currently have. Your current day-staff are genuinely wonderful and are a credit to your management, the home, and themselves! I look forward to our next visit.
The overwhelming feeling I've had since my parents moved here in January is "caring". The staff are so welcoming, warm and attentive, and they carry out their duties not just with speed and quality but with genuine passion and love. I've never experienced anything quite like it. It has made the move a much more pleasant and enjoyable experience than any of us could have wished for. It has put my mind at ease and my parents are just so happy and comfortable. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Thank you to everyone at Ivelhurst.
The care and attention given to my mum was second to none. The staff were first class in every respect and so thoughtful and attentive. I would recommend the home to anyone.
My mother has resided in Ivelhurst Nursing Home for 5 months. I can honestly say I cannot find any fault in the care my mother is receiving. She is always clean. Her room and bedding are always spotless. The food is very good. Mum expresses she enjoys her meals. As a family, we are regularly updated on her wellbeing. The manager regularly sees the residents questioning to ensure they are happy with the care they are receiving. All the staff are kind and extremely respectful.
The care my father is receiving at Ivelhurst is exemplary, and we feel so lucky that there was a place for him when he needed it. He is in the latter stages of dementia. All the staff are kind, compassionate, friendly and caring. From the care and nursing team to the facilities and management team, all are approachable, hands-on and always have time to talk. The activities that are organised for the residents are enjoyable, well-managed and thoughtfully organised. The food is fantastic, especially the cakes! The standard of cleanliness is very high too. All staff treat every resident with the respect, kindness and patience they deserve. It feels that our dear dad has been welcomed into a really caring family at Ivelhurst, and we are welcomed into it too. Knowing he is well cared for, and having such support from all staff, is making a difficult time for us so much easier.
The room is very small - tricky using the hoist. The staff are very friendly and helpful but sometimes difficult to understand because of heavy accent. Particularly tricky for people who have difficulty with their hearing. Management - have responded to some suggestions about various things. Activities - have not seen any so cannot comment. Value for money - not in a position to make a judgment. I would need to see other residential homes and compare prices. The existing hoist used for transferring residents causes great discomfort and fear. Consider different types, please. Laundry - some garments are damaged by too hot water. The building is old and this is reflected in communal facilities, however, this seems to have no impact on the level of care for most residents. My mother prefers to stay in her own room and is not mobile enough to access other rooms, so is not concerned about the modernity or suitability of other rooms. What is most important to all residents must surely be the care and consideration from staff, and in my experience, it is as good as it can be, given the level of staffing - two people most of the time. A third carer would be preferable to prevent delays in responding the the call lines. I realise that there would be a financial consideration to be taken into account but is it a possibility?
Our dear dad has dementia and is being cared for at Ivelhurst Nursing Home. We are very happy with the care he is receiving. All the staff are kind, caring, friendly and helpful. Everywhere is clean. The food is delicious. There are plenty of activities going on to keep the residents entertained and stimulated, it feels like dad is part of a very caring family at Ivelhurset which is so reassuring for us and we are made to feel equally as welcome when we visit.
We unfortunately had to put my mum into end-of-life care and chose Ivelhurst we are very thankful for them because they could not have cared better for my mum than anywhere else. They made us feel so welcome and cared for my mum deeply The staff couldn't do enough for us. I've never been asked if I would like a cup of tea or coffee more than I had when I was there. All the staff were fantastic with mum and made her smile on more than one occasion, which was a great achievement in the condition that she was in. It wasn't just the care team that we knew it was the maintenance man. It was the laundry lady and the man who delivered the tea, coffee and cake every afternoon. Everyone welcomed us every day with a smile which is what we needed, so thank you so much to the staff and to the adorable nurses who made sure my mum was comfortable until she came to pass
The overall view of Ivelhurst Nursing Home is very good. The care is also very good. They could improve the rooms and especially the bathrooms could do with an update as it all looks tired. The stairs could be a hazard to anyone who is mobile. Wish there was more outside space. All the staff are lovely possibly extra lovely with the residents, nurses too are very professional and keep you informed.
