I highly rate this home, my mum is a very complexed case, one that no local home to our family home would take on, the amazing staff have been so kind, caring and patient, with my mum. We travel 45mins, we are made to feel like part of there family. Everytime we come a warm welcome. I could not wish for a nicer friendly home to have my mum in. The nurses that manage my mums needs and medication have been nothing but amazing. The staff are a credit to the home. I've even seen management step in to help at a weekend with the care of residents, this is a true reflection being part of a team. I cannot thank this home enough for the high standards in which they hold. My mum is always clean, and very well cared for, I couldn't wish for anything more for my mum, the staff are so patient.

My wife was taken into the care of Ivelhurst nursing home in February, I and my family have been visiting every day between us since then.
The management, the nurses and the staff are absolutely amazing, the care is on a different level to anything I've ever experienced with nursing homes.
The care is second to none, the empathy we have witnessed is very special, the staff are very warm and friendly and cannot do enough to help, they answer any questions asked and they give such positive feedback, support and reassurance.
My wife's personal care is exemplary, she is always clean and well presented and she always seems happy, they are always holding her hand and chatting to her even though she doesn't communicate verbally in a way we can understand.

The whole atmosphere is just so beautiful and in my honest opinion my wife is so lucky to have been placed in this wonderful nursing home.

I absolutely love the quality of care given to my mum they are very patient and caring. My mum is very settled here and the level of one to one care my mum requires is 24/7 and they provide this exceptionally well. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and do their jobs well. It is a lovely care home with brilliant care my mum is very mobile and very often (most days) the carer looking after mum will take her for a walk around the gardens or to the park which she really enjoys and knowing that they take her out as much as possibly makes me happy. Judith who is often with mum when I visit is such a lovely lady and I can tell she cares a lot about mum and they have a lovely connection, she is very good with mum and understands her care needs. If I had to change one thing it would be that mum was closer to home so I could visit more often but knowing she is looked after and cared for so well is very reassuring.

The home is very welcoming and the friendly caring staff are always happy to help naga and jay stand out as always happy to go the extra mile to help mum and us as we did not want to put mum into a nursing home but the hospital took the decision away from us when she was put onto palliative care we had a list of homes to visit some looked like posh hotels but as soon as we went into Ivelhurst we had a warm feeling and there was no bells and whistles or hard sell but we could see strait away the most important thing was giving the residents the best possible care. And mum has improved since being at ivelhurst and her condition has stabilised. and this is we feel is down to the excellent care and friendly atmosphere.

My wife was admitted quickly to Ivelhurst after all attempts to nurse her at home had failed, and settled in, although Vascular Dementia made this difficult for her. Eating became difficult, and staff helped with this. Her doctor visited and explained the road ahead. During my wife's final days, I visited from 5 am and my daughters throughout the day. My wife died peacefully with our daughters and myself with her. She was at all times treated professionally with care, compassion and love. Following her death, she was washed and dressed in clothes of our choice, ready for the undertaker. During her time at Ivelhurst, we all became one family. Meals, cakes and drinks always available. Our worries were taken away, and she was in safe hands.

My mam stayed at Ivelhurst Nursing Home in Yeovil for a week and she loved it. Mum interacted with the staff and other residence as well as joining in the activities. Mum has been in the nursing home before and normally she moans and complaints bout everything. It was nice to see mum had enjoyed herself.

The team at Ivelhurst leave me full of confidence that my dad has the best quality of care. Despite his condition meaning that he can be rude or unkind, the staff are always like his best friend as well as his carers. They really do care. Naga particularly makes him smile, this is all I can ask for. Thank you all so much.

My aunt is settled and generally happy at Ivelhurst. Food is much improved and my aunt eats well. She is always clean and looks cared for. Activities seem to concentrate on the care side of the home which involves transferring residential residents for activities. The activities do seem to have improved over the summer months hopefully more activities are planned on the residential side for the winter months. Regular newsletters via email are an improvement also.

We have been entirely impressed by the level of care and organisation at Ivelhurst, since my Uncle moved there two weeks ago. The staff are kind and professional, they speak with the residents respectfully and gently, and treat each person as the individual they are. Each time we visit my Uncle, we are greeted with genuine hospitality, and we would have no reservation in recommending this excellent home.

This is a home which puts the care and welfare of its residents above all else. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and there is an excellent ratio of staff to residents. The needs of each individual are assessed in detail and communicated with all the carers so that residents feel relaxed and part of a welcoming family. The food is nutritious, home cooked and plentiful, as well as being delicious. Ivelhurst is an exceptional home.

Review from Lee E (Friend of Resident) published on 10 April 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

The current day staff are wonderfully welcoming and from what we can see, are genuinely thoughtful and attentive to our friend/resident. Our friend though does require more hands-on attention than other residents and it would be reassuring at some point soon to see an extra member of staff qualified as it were to help our friend visit the toilet a little more often. This is in no way due to any form of slackness from the current staff, just simply a possible staffing number concern that should be pro-actively addressed by management.

The above said we do completely appreciate that the current day staff do their very best to meet all of our friend's needs. I very much hope that the management of this home recognise the quality of staff that they currently have. Your current day-staff are genuinely wonderful and are a credit to your management, the home, and themselves! I look forward to our next visit.
