View Full Details of Oak Lodge Care HomeMy wife entered Oak Lodge in July 2025 in order to receive end of life care. She exceeded all expectations and did not pass away until November 2025. My wife, due to medical problems, remained in her room 24/7 and so did not avail herself of the wider facilities of the home. I therefore can only comment on the care that she did receive during her time there and observations of the residents recreational areas as I passed through. I found the staff fully committed to providing the best care for my wife, particularly towards the end when she was unable to get out of bed, so all personal care was undertaken in bed. My wife did not have much of an appetite and required feeding, but everyone did their best to ensure that she was fed with dignity with food that she wanted. Many staff would do their best to find a few minutes in their day to have a chat with her. When she died many of the staff were visibly upset at her passing.
Very satisfied with Home on the whole. Friendly welcome and always clean and odour free. A few more 'Drop Ins' to the residents who are unable to leave their rooms, would be a great bonus as some don't have many visitors. Kitchen staff are always helpful and accommodate the residents requests whenever possible. Most of the carers are compassionate and empathetic towards residents and family. Most of the leadership team are very approachable and act on any issues that might arise, also engage with all the residents.
There is always a happy greeting from the staff. Activities are entertaining.
In the 8 months I have attended the care home visiting my family member our room is not cleaned regularly I have had to do it myself. not all staff will treat with full dignity nor care . My family member is fully paralysed and has very infrequent interactions with anyone, their ment to have hourly visits. **They don't don't leave there room or partake in activities nor food & drink
The care home has been very welcoming and understanding. The staff are especially open and welcoming and always jolly and willing. The care provided to my father has been excellent and has allowed my mother to come to terms with their future.
Everyone appears very happy. Staff and clients rooms appear nice and well kept. Mum has settled well, which was a big surprise to me. Clients including my mum are well dressed and clean.
Always found staff helpful and friendly mum looked after very well. Room kept clean Always informed of weekly activities and events. We are very pleased with the care mum is getting and would recommend to anybody who have to put loved ones into care.
My Father is in the home and is very well looked after in terms of health and well being. The Staff remain constant with their attention and care to all the residents and offer excellent mental stimulation with a variety of activities. As personal requirements change, staff flex individual needs easily and seamlessly. Dad is certainly a happier person knowing there is always someone close by to checkin on him and also to communicate with. The home is always clean and has a lovely welcoming atmosphere, a credit to Florin and team concerned with the day to day running of the home.
Yet another visit where staff were friendly and helpful. The home was clean and inviting as always. Mum had moved rooms recently because of a problem with her bed, I was kept informed and told when she had returned. I would like to thank you all for your hard work it is appreciated.
Oak Lodge care home is very clean and the food was fantastic. Staff are friendly and caring. My father was well looked after giving us peace of mind.
I just wanted to write this review as I am so pleased that my father-in-law was able to be a resident at Oak Lodge. He has a lovely room, with an en suite toilet (though he is unable to use it sadly). But my main reason for the review is the staff who look after him or just pop by to say hello. I am so impressed with them all, they are cheerful, smiley, he has a laugh and a joke with them and they treat him kindly and with respect and for that reason I just had to write this, I can't commend them highly enough, thank you to all.
I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff at Oak Lodge. The care my mum received before her passing was amazing. We as a family were always made welcome and kept up to date with her care. The care and support we were shown gave us great comfort during her passing. My mum loved her last few years and always had a smile.
The Oak Lodge care home was always very welcome, all the staff spoke or smile when you were there! The room was always clean and tidy. everyone is always seem happy there and has a laugh with family and residents. The care and well-being of residents very good and they are treated with dignity.
The care provided to my mum was fantastic and staff were always kind and cheerful, going the extra mile at times to make sure things were as good as they could be right to the end. Living a long way away, it made a huge difference to know she was in good hands and that I didn't have to worry. Our whole family felt well supported by the staff. The rooms are not big but the care more than overweighs this. 100% recommend.
I can't fault the staff. They are caring and loving and are giving me all the support they can for which I thank them. Nothing is too much trouble.
Staff very nice, always happy and helpful and always got a smile. They made me feel welcome and with tea and cake at 3 pm. I would like to see the garden maintained better.
My mother spent several months at Oaklodge, and we were very pleased with the level of care she received. The staff were caring, friendly, and attentive, always ensuring her well-being. The food was plentiful and of good quality, and the team were supportive throughout her stay. There were regular organized activities, and while my mother wasn't always enthusiastic about joining in, she was consistently encouraged to participate. I would recommend Oaklodge, especially for individuals with more advanced dementia, as I have no doubt they will be safe, well looked after, and treated with kindness.
Dad has repeated several times over the last month, how good and friednly/caring the staff are who look after him. It makes such a difference to know that his experience is a positive one, thank you!
The staff at this care home work really hard and are amazing with my sister. I feel that some form of outings to places/shops would be lovely and benefit some of the residents. Meals repetitive. Maybe a trifle or fruit and jelly for dessert or tea. More staff needed as after lunch a lot of the residents are left struggling while waiting to be taken to the toilet. Luckily my sister is not needing that help at the moment.
My husband is really kindly looked after at Oak Lodge. The staff are happy + friendly and this is so good for family + visitors. He loves the food which is excellent. I cannot speak too highly of the home.
