Oak Lodge Care Home

First my mother for 3 years in the 1990's, then my husband last year, now a good friend have all been at Oak Lodge. The outstanding quality here is care + nursing provided. The staff are always cheerful + make real friends with their charges. The rooms are not ideal, however one or two are larger. The food seems pleasant and varied. Mostly I greatly admire the infinite cheerfulness and patience of the carers.

I am writing this a week after my mother died. She had been at Oak Lodge for five and a half years and gradually deteriorated due to her suffering from dementia and Alzheimer's. As a family we felt confident that she was well looked after and appreciated that we could visit at any time without warning. We also appreciated the continuity of many of the staff, good for the residents and also a sign that the place is running well. The deputy manager particularly gave me a sense of confidence, together with the nursing staff and carers.

My dear friend and resident of Oak Lodge is cared for with kindness and professionalism. The staff and management all work to make her residency the best possible experience and are adapting her care to meet her needs as they change. The care staff are hardworking, happy and positive around her and this makes a huge difference in her life, living at Oak Lodge. Thank you to everyone for all you are doing.

I have been very impressed with the standard of care at Oak Lodge, from the management, the nursing staff, the cleaners and the auxiliaries. Everyone is so kind and caring to both the residents and relatives/visitors; nothing is ever too much trouble. Ten out of ten,

I am sister to an elderly resident and have found the staff to caring, helpful and good humoured oth to my sister and to me as a visitor. To have to come into care was a great shock and the staff have meant that my sister has settled well into this lovely environment. he admin staff have been particularly helpful to me.

Dad came into Oak Lodge on 26/02/2026. So far everything has run very smoothly. The care Dad has received has been excellent. The management has been extremely helpful and kind. Every member of staff ahve been very caring towards Dad and Mum and myself.

My Uncle entered Oak Lodge in June 2023 & after a short restless period he settled well & is still there & happy. His care needs have now increased & the staff are excellent in coping with him & he is well looked after. We are also kept well informed of his condition :& any problems that arise. He couldn't be in a better place.

My wife entered Oak Lodge in July 2025 in order to receive end of life care. She exceeded all expectations and did not pass away until November 2025. My wife, due to medical problems, remained in her room 24/7 and so did not avail herself of the wider facilities of the home. I therefore can only comment on the care that she did receive during her time there and observations of the residents recreational areas as I passed through. I found the staff fully committed to providing the best care for my wife, particularly towards the end when she was unable to get out of bed, so all personal care was undertaken in bed. My wife did not have much of an appetite and required feeding, but everyone did their best to ensure that she was fed with dignity with food that she wanted. Many staff would do their best to find a few minutes in their day to have a chat with her. When she died many of the staff were visibly upset at her passing.

Very satisfied with Home on the whole. Friendly welcome and always clean and odour free. A few more 'Drop Ins' to the residents who are unable to leave their rooms, would be a great bonus as some don't have many visitors. Kitchen staff are always helpful and accommodate the residents requests whenever possible. Most of the carers are compassionate and empathetic towards residents and family. Most of the leadership team are very approachable and act on any issues that might arise, also engage with all the residents.

There is always a happy greeting from the staff. Activities are entertaining.

The care home has been very welcoming and understanding. The staff are especially open and welcoming and always jolly and willing. The care provided to my father has been excellent and has allowed my mother to come to terms with their future.

Everyone appears very happy. Staff and clients rooms appear nice and well kept. Mum has settled well, which was a big surprise to me. Clients including my mum are well dressed and clean.

We are very pleased with the care mum is getting and would recommend to anybody who have to put loved ones into care.

The home is always clean and has a lovely welcoming atmosphere, a credit to Florin and team concerned with the day to day running of the home.

Yet another visit where staff were friendly and helpful. The home was clean and inviting as always. Mum had moved rooms recently because of a problem with her bed, I was kept informed and told when she had returned. I would like to thank you all for your hard work it is appreciated.

Oak Lodge care home is very clean and the food was fantastic. Staff are friendly and caring. My father was well looked after giving us peace of mind.

I just wanted to write this review as I am so pleased that my father-in-law was able to be a resident at Oak Lodge. He has a lovely room, with an en suite toilet (though he is unable to use it sadly). But my main reason for the review is the staff who look after him or just pop by to say hello. I am so impressed with them all, they are cheerful, smiley, he has a laugh and a joke with them and they treat him kindly and with respect and for that reason I just had to write this, I can't commend them highly enough, thank you to all.
