I have peace of mind because I know my Mum is being cared for in the best possible way. The staff are always friendly and understanding. There is a good-humoured atmosphere about the place with a full programme of activities and outings.

My husband has been at Oak Lodge nursing home for fourteen months and I could not wish for a better place for him.

I find all the staff very friendly and very caring, from top management to the nurses, carers, kitchen, cleaners, laundry and entertainments. They arrange lots of entertainment, music, afternoon singing, quizzes and many others. I would highly recommend this nursing home to anyone looking for a place for their relatives.

I found it very small in the room where they have their bedrooms and in the summer time, the door to the garden is not often open and it does get very hot in the room. Otherwise, everything is quite good. It's nice to know that my sister has someone near to talk to otherwise it's a long day for her and other people that have to stay in the home. My sister is happy now that's one good thing but I am pleased to hear they will be moving her to another room soon and it will be much better for everyone that stays here. Everyone is very nice to talk to so that's a very good thing.

I am very happy with the way my dear Mum is cared for in "Acorns". The staff are very caring and thoughtful and efficient. Always patient with her (due to her dementia, she can be a bit difficult)! she always looks clean, tidy and well fed.

Thank you so much xx

On arrival at The Lodge myself and my family were welcomed and I was made to feel part of a family. I was included in all the entertainment and activities and so was my family included. I had my 50th Birthday here and I had a surprise party and cake. My family has joined me for meals and have been told they can come at any time.

Hello My name is Lisa,

I gained my Health and Social skills and experience at our sister home, Gotton Manor in Taunton, from 2020, where I worked as a care assistant, which was my first experience in a care home.

Working my way up to Team Leader, Senior Carer, Care Coordinator and then Deputy Manager.

During my time at Gotton Manor, I gained a Level 3 and a Level 5 in Leadership in Adult Care, passing both with a Distinction credit.

Recently stepping into the Care Home Managers role at Oak Lodge in Chard, I have been supported all the way by everyone at Harbour Healthcare.

The residents' care and quality of life are my top priority, helped by the amazing & well established team at Oak Lodge.

I have an open-door policy for staff, residents and relatives.

No two days are the same. The care we provide comes from our hearts day in & day out.

Hi, my name is Clair. I am the Deputy Home Manager at Oak Lodge Care Home.

I started as a carer in 1995. In 2007, I came to work at Oak Lodge Care Home as a Senior Carer and then worked up to the position of Nursing Associate. In October 2019, I was offered the Deputy Home Manager position; I was delighted, and of course, accepted the offer!

I have been part of the team at Oak Lodge for the past 19 years. Over the years, I have developed a deep understanding of our residents, their families, and the values that make our home a special place to live and work.

I am delighted to welcome our new manager, Lisa Moxon and look forward to working together to continue supporting our residents, families and staff. Having strong leadership and teamwork in place will help us build on the excellent care we already provide and continue to make our home the best it can be.
