I chose Rowens for Day Care for my wife on recommend and location. The home has a high standard of cleanliness and my wife has been made very welcome by the staff. I have found the staff to be very professional and I feel at ease with my wife in their care.
My husband has been visiting Rowan House every Thursday for day care for about 3 years now to give me respite from my full time caring rota. He finds the staff very caring enjoys his meals and the afternoon entertainment is the highlight of his day (singing and excise). he is able to talk to the carers about his worries.
Since coming to Rowan House each Thursday for Day Care I found that the management and staff have all been very caring and helpful to me, and if I needed full time care away from my own home, I would not hesitate to hope for Rowan House. I would recommend Rowan House to anyone in my position.
On a recent visit to a resident in Rowan House I was highly impressed by the exceptional level of care and consideration being given to my friend. Personal care was of an extremely high standard, the 2 members of staff involved clearly had a detailed knowledge of individual requirements and delivered the personal care with great attention to detail, compassion and dignity. They were so very kind and considerate. I have visited on many occasions and there is always a high standard of cleanliness throughout the home, and my friend's bedroom is always immaculately clean and tidy, with freshly laundered bedding. They went above and beyond to make her comfortable, keeping her surrounded by kindness and respect until the very end. Their support extended to our family too, offering comfort and reassurance when we needed it most. Moving Mum into a care home was one of the hardest things we ever had to do, but Rowan House has been a blessing. She settled in beautifully and is genuinely happy, which means the world to us. The staff are warm, compassionate, and treat her with such dignity and care. I'm deeply grateful for the peace and comfort they've given our family.
My mum has been a resident for about a year been a difficult time during to funding but all the staff are caring and nothing is to much for them to try to help the care is wonderful home us clean and all staff care from management to the cleaners thank them all for their hard work I am glad that my mum who is 95 is well looked after.
The staff in this care home are amazing and are always patient and kind both to residents and visitors. Nothing is too much trouble.
Rowan House has dedicated staff that care for the individual needs of each resident. When we visit it always has a happy atmosphere.
I was apprehensive about how Mum would react after her fall, hospitalisation, and then her big fear - residential care! Mum started overwhelmed and nervous. The staff have gone out of their way to make Mum feel she is amongst friends, and they give her a cuddle and hold her hand. Activities: group sing-alongs and music events, one-on-one knitting, pasty making... There will never be enough staff, but that applies to most care homes. The staff treat everyone with respect and dignity, and they seem genuinely happy in their work, despite being nearly always busy and attentive to residents' needs. Food and drinks are very good. Rooms are spotless and tidied/cleaned better than many hotels. There is always a Duty Manager on hand and the Deputy Manager can regularly be seen with the residents and relatives - a big tick. The home is under new management and they are making positive changes, probably with limited resources.
The staff at Rowan House are always attentive and cheerful when I visit my 93-year-old mum. If Mum is a little out of sorts they always let us know and keep a close eye on her which is good to know. Any questions that I have had are readily answered or taken on board and answers found. They have been extremely helpful in assisting and advising me on matters of funding Mum's care.
My dad came into Rowan House for respite care following a long spell in hospital. He has the beginnings of dementia and was very confused when he arrived. The staff made huge efforts to help him settle and made regular contact with me both personally by phone and by allowing my father to call me when he was anxious or unsettled. He is now well-settled at the home and seems happy. I visited him for the first time this week and the environment was friendly, clean, and welcoming. I feel he is receiving good care and there is always someone around to listen to him or reassure him.
I went to visit Rowan House for a temporary respite placement for my mum following a lengthy hospital stay. As soon as I went in I knew this was the right place for her to be. Both management and staff have been so professional, kind and supportive through a very challenging time, they always have the best interests of the residents at heart and work so hard to create a homely feel and a warm welcoming atmosphere. I cannot thank them enough.
