Mum was increasingly unable to care for herself at home, not getting up until lunchtime, not eating or drinking, not doing her usual chores/ hobbies/ pastimes. We organised care at home for her but she would send them away. It was a difficult decision to seek residential care but we haven't looked back - she is alert, happy and engaged when we visit and takes part in lots of activities. She was ill for a couple of weeks shortly after arriving and we cannot fault the care she received. Staff are welcoming, helpful and so caring, the home is bright and cheerful, and mum's room is clean and lovely - she even has her own recliner chair there. It really is a home from home.
It is heart warming to read how settled your mum is at Rowan House. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. It means a lot to read the you find the staff helpful and caring and that it feels like a home from home. I will be sure to pass on your kind words t the staff team. Thank you.
From the outset, the manager and the entire team were lovely and it helped with the anxiety of leaving her in someone elses care. Her room is bright and nicely arranged and most importantly, my aunt appears calm, comfortable, and content, which speaks volumes.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I know they will mean a lot to the whole staff team at Rowan House and I will be sure to pass your review on to them. It is so lovely to read that your aunt is comfortable, calm and content. Thank you!
The care you are giving my dad is great. You keep us updated with anything that happens to him. We've noticed the difference in him since he's been with you. Dad seems to be improving from when he was at the previous place.
Thank you so much for your review - It is lovely to read that your dad is so well care for that you have seen improvements. I will make sure I pass your kind words on to the whole team. Thanks again.
The team at Rowan have made mums from her previous home as easy as it could be. They have taken time to get to know her and treat her with real respect and dignity. My brother and I are so pleased with how this difficult time has been supported.
Thank you for your review. It is fantastic to read how your mum has been treated, that the transition to the home has been as easy as possible and that you and your brother are pleased with the support. Thank you.
I chose Rowens for Day Care for my wife on recommend and location. The home has a high standard of cleanliness and my wife has been made very welcome by the staff. I have found the staff to be very professional and I feel at ease with my wife in their care.
Thank you for your words and for taking the time to complete this review. It's great to read how the staff have welcome your wife.
My husband has been visiting Rowan House every Thursday for day care for about 3 years now to give me respite from my full time caring rota. He finds the staff very caring enjoys his meals and the afternoon entertainment is the highlight of his day (singing and excise). he is able to talk to the carers about his worries.
It is heart warming to read how your husband enjoys his time visiting Rowan House. It is also really good to read that you can then enjoy a well deserved break. The staff at Rowan are truly a wonderful team and your review will mean a lot to them. Thank you.
Since coming to Rowan House each Thursday for Day Care I found that the management and staff have all been very caring and helpful to me, and if I needed full time care away from my own home, I would not hesitate to hope for Rowan House. I would recommend Rowan House to anyone in my position.
Thank you so much for your reply. How lovely it is to read that your Day Care experience has been such a success. I will make sure that your kind words are passed on to the team. Thank you.
I have visited on many occasions and there is always a high standard of cleanliness throughout the home, and my friend's bedroom is always immaculately clean and tidy, with freshly laundered bedding. I've never failed to be impressed by the very high standards of care my friend receives at Rowan House.

I can't thank the staff at Rowan House enough for the compassion and dignity they showed my gran in her final days. They went above and beyond to make her comfortable, keeping her surrounded by kindness and respect until the very end. Their support extended to our family too, offering comfort and reassurance when we needed it most. It was clear that they truly cared, and we'll always be grateful for the warmth and professionalism they showed during such a difficult time.

Moving Mum into a care home was one of the hardest things we ever had to do, but Rowan House has been a blessing. She settled in beautifully and is genuinely happy, which means the world to us. The staff are warm, compassionate, and treat her with such dignity and care. I'm deeply grateful for the peace and comfort they've given our family.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this review. Your words mean such a lot to the whole staff team. We completely understand how difficult it is making the decision to move a loved one into care, but to read how reassured you are with the standard of care and with Rowan House in general is just heart warming. Thank you again.
My mum has been a resident for about a year been a difficult time during to funding but all the staff are caring and nothing is to much for them to try to help the care is wonderful home us clean and all staff care from management to the cleaners thank them all for their hard work I am glad that my mum who is 95 is well looked after.
Thank you for leaving such a lovely review. I am so pleased to hear that you and you and your Mum after happy at Rowan House. I will pass your kind words onto the whole team.
The staff in this care home are amazing and are always patient and kind both to residents and visitors. Nothing is too much trouble.
On behalf of everyone at Rowan House, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for taking the time to leave this fantastic review. I will make sure your kind words are shared with the entire staff team.
When we visit it always has a happy atmosphere.
Its good to read that you feel the happy atmosphere at Rowan House. The team are extremely dedicated and happy in their work and the residents are at the heart of all they do. Thank you.
Mum started overwhelmed and nervous. The staff have gone out of their way to make Mum feel she is amongst friends, and they give her a cuddle and hold her hand. Activities: group sing-alongs and music events, one-on-one knitting, pasty making... There will never be enough staff, but that applies to most care homes. The staff treat everyone with respect and dignity, and they seem genuinely happy in their work, despite being nearly always busy and attentive to residents' needs.
Food and drinks are very good.
Rooms are spotless and tidied/cleaned better than many hotels.
There is always a Duty Manager on hand and the Deputy Manager can regularly be seen with the residents and relatives - a big tick.
The home is under new management and they are making positive changes, probably with limited resources.
This review serves as a credit to all the team at Rowan House. Thank you for taking the time to submit it, I will ensure your words are shared with the whole team. The Activities you mention sound wonderful and I am glad you and your mum approve of them. Thank you!
