We were extremely relieved to have found Rowan House when looking for a last minute respite for my auntie.
From the outset, the manager and the entire team were lovely and it helped with the anxiety of leaving her in someone elses care. Her room is bright and nicely arranged and most importantly,
my aunt appears calm, comfortable, and content, which speaks volumes.
Reply from Adele Beaton, Area Manager at Rowan HouseThank you so much for your kind words. I know they will mean a lot to the whole staff team at Rowan House and I will be sure to pass your review on to them. It is so lovely to read that your aunt is comfortable, calm and content. Thank you!

My sincere thanks go to the wonderful team at Longview, you have all been so very kind in the care of our dear Mum right up to and including during her passing. It has been a very emotional and difficult time for us all and your support and kindness has been above and beyond and for that we are so grateful
and will never forget it. Mum was treated with respect and dignity all the way through her stay, and her room was both comfortable and clean at all times. you are stars and we can't thank you enough.
Reply from Andy Kirby, Manager at Longview Care HomeThank you so much for your review. Your mum was such a lovely lady, and her personality shone through despite all her difficulties and challenges. The staff miss looking after her a great deal.

On the 14th February the management and staff held a St Valentines Party which was attended by many family members of those in Care at Longview. Leading up to the party lunch everyone had soft drinks, tea or Coffee with biscuits and cake.
The party was well planned the staff very supportive and totally
engaged in all the support and activities such a party demanded. Staff ensured that not only the residents had their lunch but also ensured all the visitors were able to have lunch from the buffet which was prepared
The atmosphere was brilliant, lots of chatting, laughter and activities.
The raffle was excellent and residents and visitors alike were cheering at the lucky winners of the 13 wonderful prizes.
Enjoying the whole atmosphere and ambiance of the party was a great opportunity which enabled me to spend several hours with my wife -a great memory to hold,
I am sure I speak for the many residents and visitors when I simply say a huge thank you to everyone at Longview.
Reply from Andy Kirby, Manager at Longview Care HomeYou are most welcome! Life in a care home should be fun, and everyone should have the opportunity to have a great day every day. Even so, special occasions deserve extra special attention, and by planning these events, it gives everyone chance to relax, have fun and spend time with other people facing similar challenges. We are looking forward to many more events as the weather improves, and we get out and about more.

My uncle has been a resident at Longview for 12 month. I cannot praise Longview Care Home enough for the exceptional care they give my uncle. Living far away can make supporting his daily needs difficult, but the team have completely eased that worry. They go above and beyond for both him and me, showing
genuine warmth, patience, and professionalism every day.
His physical and mental health have improved dramatically thanks to the consistent care, companionship, and support he receives. The staff keep me fully updated on his medical needs and any changes, which gives me complete peace of mind.
Most importantly, my uncle is happy, settled, and truly cared for. Longview has created a welcoming, compassionate environment, and I'm incredibly grateful to every member of the team. Nothing is too much and the staff have become like family to my uncle. I wholeheartedly recommend this home to anyone that may need it in the future.
Reply from Andy Kirby, Manager at Longview Care HomeWhat a lovely review, thank so much. Your uncle was really very poorly when he came to us, and he's completely better, back to his old self, and has decided to stay with us because he doesn't want to live alone any more. He's a lovely chap, and we love having him with us. Thank you so much for your help getting him back on his feet, he's so grateful to you every day.

Mum settled much quicker than we anticipated, and we feel that having the same staff looking after her has helped with this. Staff always appear happy, and some have built a relationship with Mum. She is well cared for and enjoys the food. No matter how good the care is, all care homes are expensive!

Longview care home provided excellent care for my mother. I am a nurse with 41 years of NHS experience and not easily impressed, but the compassionate care my mother received was second to none. All the staff treated my mother with dignity and respect in her final 3 weeks of life. We stayed with mum
for her last 72 hours, and the staff's care for us was exemplary, with endless cups of tea and support. I would have no concern whatsoever about using Longview again if the need arises.
Reply from Andy Kirby, Manager at Longview Care HomeThank you so much for taking time to review our home, a particularly relevant review considering your own extensive nursing experience. We know how important it is to take exceptional care not only our residents, but their families as well, especially during those days when we all need extra support. We are grateful for all your kind words, which I will of course share with our team.

My wife came to Longview at the end of Dec 25 as a resident with advanced Alzheimer's and in poor health. From the very start she, and I, were made so welcome, and her subsequent care was exemplary. The staff are amazing -- so gentle, caring, competent, courteous and full of smiles. The end-of-life
care they gave her ensured that she was never distressed, and the same loving care was extended to me and to my family whilst we effectively 'lived' at Longview during my wife's final days. I cannot speak highly enough of the way the staff, from the manager through to the most junior staff member, treated her and us. Longview Care Home is indeed a home, and it is a lovely, immaculate place. How lucky we are to have such an excellent facility in Cornwall. We cannot thank you enough as you helped us through our difficult journey; we could not have done it without you. Bless you all.
Reply from Andy Kirby, Manager at Longview Care HomeThank you so much for your very kind words. We love what we do, and every single one of us understands how important the small things can be, particularly at the end of someone's life when every second of every day means so much. St Clair House

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My father has lived at St Clair for the last 18 months. He has been very happy there. The staff are always friendly and kind, treating residents with respect and warmth. In the last few months of my father's life, the staff really stepped up to make sure Dad was comfortable and his needs met, whether
it was helping him be comfortable in his chair or bed, or providing something different that he felt like eating or drinking. I always felt confident leaving him in the hands of senior carers - they reached out for medical support when needed, dealt with difficult situations well and kept me updated. The facilities are good, lovely garden area and sunroom. The only downside was the location of the room upstairs around a few bends which he found tricky to navigate. However he could always ask for help if he wanted to go anywhere. The room itself was lovely, big window and ensuite. Overall a fabulous care home. The warmth, friendliness and consistency of all staff made it feel a home.

I have been absolutely overwhelmed with the care, love, excellence, attention to detail and kindness that has been shown to us as our dearest mum transitions, from one Care Home to another. Everyone has been so very kind and welcoming and has gone beyond the extra mile to help and reassure us, as
we walk this path for the absolute best for dear mum. We are extremely thankful and grateful for all your hard walk and kindness. The care staff team are absolutely amazing, full of smiles and love and care and so very, very helpful and won't let me do anything! They look after us with the same love and care as they do our dear mum. My first two thoughts of the place were how beautiful it is and exceptional in every way. Bless you all loads and loads let's continue to walk this path together steadfast and with the same absolute excellence from day one right through for as long as we need. We couldn't manage without and you have taken a heavy weight off us. You are all absolutely amazing!!!
Reply from Andy Kirby, Manager at Longview Care HomeThank you so much for taking time to review our care home. The transition from your mum's previous home where they were unable to meet your mum's needs was made so much easier with your help und understanding, and we are so pleased that she has settled in so well, and started to make real progress both with her health and happiness. I am very thankful to the whole team, that your concerns and worries have reduced to the point you can relax in the knowledge she's so well looked after all day, every day.

I worked in care for many years and was a little anxious about Dad coming in to full time care. St Clair's was recommended by a family member whose in-law had been here for several years and had been very happy here. I feel we have been so fortunate. Everone at St Clair's has been so kind and supportive

My Mum is a resident at Longview, and she couldn't be in better hands. Due to her Alzheimer's it became impossible for us to care for her at home. We were apprehensive about Mum going to a home; however, we knew it was necessary for Mum's safety and well-being.
From the minute we stepped through the
door, we were welcomed like old friends. The staff are so kind and caring; they take the time to get to know the residents and their families, and they have made Mum's transition into residential care as smooth as possible, especially as Mum can be very unsettled at times.
The accommodation and facilities are spotless, Mum's dietary needs as a vegetarian are well catered to, and the home offers activities for residents to enjoy throughout the week.
We are kept updated on Mum's health as well as any concerns raised by the staff or visiting doctor. Mum is well looked after, with expert and compassionate round-the-clock care.
I highly recommend Longview for people needing dementia care 24/7.
