View Full Details of The Laurels Care HomeMy dad has been in The Laurels for over 2 years now and from his arrival I have found the team at the care home very professional, friendly and attentive to not just my own dad but to other residents too. My dad had a health scare in February this year and I could not have asked for better support from the girls on duty that day (8th Feb 2025). They displayed genuine concerned and empathy and there is no training for that. The care home itselfs always appears clean and tidy and smells fresh. If there is a suggestion I could make is that requests for a visit from the audiologists would be followed up. My dad is deaf and with 1 lost hearing aid and the other not working, conversations are difficult. I have asked for a home visit appoiontment to be made but nothing has been organised as yet. I'd very much appreciate it if this could be followed up please. I would highly recommend The Laurels.
I took my mum into laurels care home on 1/8/2025 , I knew it wasn't going to be easy for me or my mum ,, But the level of care and understanding from the managers & staff involved was absolutely outstanding ,,, what was achieved on that day seemed like a miracle to me , I went home 100% completely satisfied with no worry for my mums care and safety , I've visited this home on numerous occasions at different times and found all the staff very helpful and very caring on every visit which is all I wish for also the atmosphere is so pleasant and the home itself is so homely and immaculate I am truly grateful my mum is at this home
I have never had any issues with the care my mum recieves from the Laurels care home. All the staff work very hard to ensure there residents are well looked after. They often put functions on for the residents which my mum really enjoys. All staff are pleasant and polite when visiting they have regular activities during the week provided by a member of staff. the manager is always aproachable and happy to listen to any queries. Overall its the best thing I did moving my mum to the Laurels care home as she is very happy there and recoeves all the care she may need.
My mother has been a resident at The Laurels for over a year. I've been very pleased with the care she's recieved and the professional way the care home is run. I would recommend The Laurels to anyone looking for a care home.
Mam seems very happy at the laurels, she says the food is very good and the carers are all very friendly, only one small criticism the carpet in her room is getting very grubby and should be replaced.other than that I would rate the laurels five star.
The Laurels is a safe, clean, friendly home for our increasingly frail mum. There are an assortment of activities and occasional trips out. We are always welcome to visit almost any time. The staff are caring and professional and we are updated regularly on mum's health and well-being.
In my experience the laurels is a welcoming place, the staff are professional, caring and supportive. The activities team are amazing and provide many opportunities to stimulate the residents, the laundry staff do a great job identifying unlabelled clothes and making sure they get to the right people. The meals are varied and enjoyed by all .The domestic staff are always on the go unlike some other homes The Laurels always smells fresh and appears clean. The management team interact with residents and visitors, and are approachable if there is any issues, overall myself and my sisters are very happy with the service our father receives.
At The Laurels I believe my mum to be well cared for, the majority of staff are very friendly to us as visitors and appear to look after the residents very well, I always feel that my mums wishes are considered and carried out appropriately in a timely manner. She does seem very happy although does struggle at times due to her deteriorating mental health.
Mum only went into the Laurels on Tuesday si it is too soon to say how she is settling. As a family we are highly delighted with the carers and their relationship with the residents. Mum says the food is lovely
From day one, outstanding care from all staff ensuring residents are well looked after and treating them with kindness and respect. Nothing is too much trouble, the staff go above and beyond looking after the residents. The home is warm and cosy and kept spotlessly clean. Lots of activities each week which keep residents engaged.
Very good, clean and caring staff. I go several times a week and it is always a caring environment.
A very happy place, always nice staff, nothing is too much trouble. Sister-in-law is very settled.
I visit the nursing home regularly on coffee mornings to see a friend. My own father was a resident in 2019 for 2 years and I found it outstanding in all aspects and still today it is the same standard. Very welcoming, clean, jolly staff with good understanding of care, plenty of activities daily. I would and have highly recommended this nursing home to many of my friends for their parents.

My mother has only been in residence since July 2024 (four weeks). She has settled in brilliantly. She is treated with kindness, respect and dignity. Before going into The Laurels she had become frightened to be on her own after falling but now she is happy and relaxed. Joins in with activities and has plenty of conversations. Feels like I have my mother back. So thank you!
I cannot speak highly enough of the team at The Laurels. They made a very difficult time much easier for my Nanna as well as the whole family. I will be forever grateful for the quality of care she received, always ensuring her safety and dignity as well as providing her with the respect she deserved. The cleanliness, quality of room and furnishings, choice of meals and variety of activities offered made her stay as comfortable as could be. Thank you!

I couldn't have wished for my mum to be anywhere else, she was looked after with love and compassion from every member of staff from when she went in until her passing.
I was very reassured when the manager came out to meet my nan and make sure the home could meet her needs. After a few weeks my nan was like a new woman, she was even up and dancing to live music! The care she received was excellent right through the different stages of her deterioration and she loved all the entertainment. The wonderful staff were incredibly supportive to the whole family and we will always be grateful
