View Full Details of Barchester Henford House Care HomeMum has been in Henford House for a few weeks now - initially as respite care but is now a permanent resident with nursing needs. All the staff are very welcoming and the nursing care is second to none. They identified when she needed to go into hospital for a couple of weeks and she is looking better than she has done for a long time. Overall she is very well looked after.
I cannot praise your staff enough. On every level they have provided our mum with the most amazing care. My mother has had a few months of respite and could not have been looked after better. Nothing is too much trouble ^ the knowledge of staff to help us get all the help mum needed. My mother hasn't looked as well as she does now for many years. She is on fine form now and her recovery could not have gone better.
Since retiring at the age of 67, my husband, professional painter and decorator, has developed depression, followed by Alzheimer's, at first manageable, last two years have been very hard for me to care for him 24/7 with very little help from NHS. On 3rd Jan 25 admitted to hospital where stayed til 28th Feb 25. Henford House is my and his saviour.
Staff always cheerful and helpful. Lovely with our mother.
Initial fears and reluctance of putting my husband into a nursing home have been allayed. He is so well treated and looked after, I can go home each day happy that he is settled into his new 'home' and engaging with the staff.
I have only been here for eight days so I am still learning. I expect to be moved to the room of my choice when the heating is fixed.
Friendly staff, comfortable, warm, my birds are happy.
We have always been very pleased with the care my aunt received. My aunt was very happy at Barchester Henford House Care Home and being almost 3 hours away, it was a comfort to us knowing she was well cared for and happy. The staff were always friendly, helpful and very good with communication and updates. The staff were very respectful, informative and helpful when my aunt died recently.
Good range of activities. Exceedingly welcoming room. Staff are lovely. Looking forward to moving in permanently.
I visited my mother-in-law to attend the fish and chips club. It was a really enjoyable experience. Thank you to all the staff, including the chef.
Mum came to stay on two separate respite occasions and had a wonderful time. She was very welcomed by all the staff and left each time feeling relaxed and happy.
A really lovely care home. The staff were ever so kind to my dad who came in for some respite. The food was really good and so was his room. He really enjoyed the company of the other gents this time and made some friends. The staff were really kind to him and it felt home from home.
My husband has been in Henford House for two days, but we are both thrilled with the beautiful buildings, the room leaving to the garden space. The staff really cannot do enough. They are so professional and kind and are prepared to give us time to air views, assess needs etc. Couldn't be more impressed. There is a real "buzz" about the place. It's very person-centred. The lounge and dining rooms are inviting. I'm sure my husband will recover here, and we can get him to join in with staff and residents alike. Thank you.
I visited a friend, accompanied by his wife, who had recently been transferred to this wonderful care home. The gardens and buildings are palatial, airy, spotlessly clean and beautifully laid out with amazing facilities and large rooms - in fact, the atmosphere was more like a very smart, comfortable hotel than a care home. All members of staff were friendly, welcoming, caring, attentive, informative and very professional. I would have no hesitation in highly recommending Barchester Henford House Care Home to any potential resident or family seeking a vacancy for their loved one.
Lot to say about Henford, all good, but this facility is made great by the staff. The staff are brilliant, helpful, caring and patient. I have witnessed the staff on many occasions and am in awe of how they deal with the residents, led well by management. Thank you.
Good quality respite care. So helpful that there are no minimum stay requirements. This flexibility means my husband is happy to take a short break and I can make the most of his funding.
The home is perfect for my husband's present needs, with the right amount of care. He especially enjoys the view from his room window, the meals and has found he can communicate with a couple of the residents.
A family-centric environment with individual care needs provided by staff who know all the residents' names.
A lovely afternoon in the garden for the pudding club in the sunshine. Cakes galore with some army soldiers providing interesting stories of their work. An excellent idea. Staff pulled out all the stops, providing delicious cakes. The gardens looked beautiful, full of colour.
A friend of mine is staying in this care home and my wife and I visited him in June 2024. Together with his wife, we prepared a lunch of his favourite food which we ate in the home's private dining room. This is a lovely comfortable private space, large enough for probably 20 people but we had it just for the 4 of us. The home provided all the plates, cutlery etc... and set the table up. They also took it all away afterwards. Any resident can book this room to eat privately with friends/family: A great facility. The home itself is outstanding. Our friend tells us he gets good care there. And we've witnessed that. During our visits we have been struck by the friendliness and professionalism of the staff, the cleanliness and freshness of the whole home and the overall facilities including the dining area, lounges and garden. This is clearly a well-managed, comfortable and caring home.
