My mother was admitted to the Weir Nursing Home in May 2026; she was there for palliative care as she was suffering from an aggressive cancer of the bowel. From the first day she arrived she was given excellent care and support; she was checked on regularly and the outstanding staff took time to
chat and ask her about her family which she was very proud of. The quality of care and support was excellent. She was allocated a beautiful room elegantly decorated with a private en-suit which was really important to her as her condition required easy access. The facilities throughout we spotless and furnished like a home.
She particularly enjoyed going to the communal lounge where often there was live music to which she sang along. Other things that gave her pleasure was having her hair done so she looked smart. It was so important to many of the residents to look well presented and the friendly lovely staff understand this and take the time to ensure residents are happy. Thank you The Weir

Our family member was made to feel so welcome and they settled very quickly to their new surroundings as a result. The staff have responded promptly and effectively to any questions or issues we have raised. Couldn't have gone better

The Weir is a beautiful residence in a wonderful setting.
The rooms are a very good size and very clean.
The meals are excellent with a varied selection to choose from.
The staff are very patient, professional and extremely helpful.

The Weir Nursing Home has exceptional staff who are kind, caring and extremely tolerant. The setting is beautiful and there is a lovely calm atmosphere.

Ever since my sister has been in The Weir from November 2024 I have found the nursing care to be professional but friendly. Nothing seems to be a problem and the food is excellent.

My dad has been with you at The Weir for nearly two years. I'm very happy with the service provided. The staff are exceptional. Dad is very happy in the lovely surroundings. Thank you.

My mum has been there for over a month now and I have been so impressed with the care from all the staff. Everyone is warm, patient, kind, helpful and professional. Mums health had deteriorated very suddenly and rapidly but within a few weeks her physical health has hugely improved.
The Weir has a
lovely communal and family friendly feel-even pets are welcomed. There is a genuine sense of care and compassion, which seems to have been lost in many health care facilities.
I would recommend The Weir to anyone in the sad position where a loved one needs residential care.

Dad has been in the Weir for just over 3 years now. It is clear he is well cared for he has an excellent relationship with the staff and has lots of opportunity to take part in various activities. The food is excellent and the communication between myself and them is always very good.

The staff provided exceptional support and reassurance to my grandfather and our family following the challenging decision to transition him to care. From his arrival, he has consistently received dignified, respectful, and patient treatment. He frequently praises the staff's kindness and expresses
deep gratitude for their care. He's also enjoying the diverse range of activities offered. Our visits are always welcoming, inquiries are promptly addressed, and concerns are effectively alleviated. As a family, we are exceedingly pleased with the level of care provided.

My father was a resident at The Weir for eight months. We were very pleased with the level of care and kindness that he received. The staff were thoughtful, patient and attentive and always welcomed us very warmly when we visited. I would not hesitate to recommend The Weir. Thank you!

The staff nursed my mum, who was moved to the Weir on end-of-life care.
They were professional and caring and treated my mum with dignity.
They were also there to help and support me through a very difficult time.
I cannot praise and thank them enough.

As my wife's husband, I was always made welcome. My wife had the best service in care and on a one to one basis. All the staff were so friendly and very polite to her. Thanks to all for helping me get through some difficult times.

My son has been living at Weir Nursing Home for 2 years now and on entering he was down and out but with the expertise of all staff our son has come on quite well. Still needs a massive amount of attention but they carry on regardless.
Nothing but praise. Hope they keep up the good work.

Our son gets the very best care.
The staff are very kind to our son, he needs 24-hour care and they are all wonderful.
It's a pleasure to go to the home to visit our son.
We always receive a wonderful welcome and our son could not be in a better home.

The Weir is a friendly, welcoming nursing home. The residents have the chance to participate in many activities. Outings are also arranged for the residents. The meals are excellent and home cooked. Nurses are always on duty to administer medical care. Resident's families are made to feel welcome
and included.

Overall good care, able to visit at all times. Home cooking. Residents are always clean, tidy and well fed. Events held on a regular basis for all to join in or not. Dog visit to your own room which is good for residents. Able to have own things around you. Safe.

My uncle was admitted to the Weir in December 2016. We have nothing but praise for the levels of care given to him in the short time he has been here.
The standards are excellent and he is extremely happy here.

Excellent nursing home in a lovely location. Residents are treated as individuals and dignity observed whilst still allowing for a fun and friendly atmosphere. Staff always considerate and caring towards residents, family and visitors.
There are sufficient activities for those able to take the
park and a wide variety.
Plenty of space for those who want to be on their own or with families/visitors for private visits.
Meals appear very appetising and varied with plenty of choices.
The home and garden is always clean and tidy, residents clothes are laundered to a high standard.
Staff approachable for any queries and are always professional.
