View Full Details of Abbey Rose Care HomeCan't thank the manager, carers & the whole team for taking excellent care of my Aunt over the last 2 years. They are caring, hard working & each person pleasant & approachable with anything we needed to know or any help we needed. With my deepest gratitude & respect to you all
I look at a care home as being a long term stay at a hotel, but with special needs and facilities, at a cost of stay. So at Abbey Rose I found for my mother's stay the staff, from nurses down to cleaning/catering to be extremely friendly, courteous and supportive to my mother's diminishing situation. At no time did I feel my observations given the utmost respect. Her room and the whole facilities/hotel was clean and spacious with bathroom/shower facilities modern. You could see from the staff's great attitude, it was a likable place to work in. Shame about the quality of food but I guess it had to do with the residents needs. Overall, well done!
My mother was in Abbey Rose Care Home for end-of-life care and passed away peacefully on Monday 26th May at 05:30. I cannot express enough how kind, respectful, and compassionate the staff were throughout her time there. From the moment she arrived, she was treated with dignity-not as a patient, but as a resident. The care home itself was always clean and welcoming. Her room was spotless and comfortable, the bathroom was immaculate, and the food was consistently of a high standard. During the last 48 hours of her life, when she was unconscious, the team maintained her personal care with such sensitivity and respect. Their attention to her dignity never wavered. The level of care provided to us as a family was equally outstanding. My daughter and I were able to stay with her until she took her final breath, and we were given as much time as we needed with her afterward, in peace and privacy. I am deeply grateful to everyone at Abbey Rose Care Home.
It was comforting to know the last 6 years of mom's life was spent in the caring, safe environment Abbey Rose created. We were so lucky to have found this home and got to know all the staff on a personal basis. From reception and nursing staff to the manager, they all knew mom, knew us, and made us feel part of one big family. The very few issues or concerns that did arise in over 6 years were always listened to, addressed, and fed back to us. We cannot speak highly enough of the care mom was given. We are truly grateful Mom spent her final years here.
The decision to move my mother-in-law to a care home was not an easy one for us as we always envisaged taking care of her ourselves. However, this was not to be but I can say that the decision to move her to Abbey Rose proved to be the right one. She was shown great kindness, care and love. She was also treated with dignity and respect. As her family, we were given great support. The staff were always cheerful and welcoming and we felt that they became an extension to our own family. The home is kept immaculately with lovely decor and in an good state of repair. It has a beautiful garden in which they hold special events and which relatives are invited to. There are daily activities for the residents to join in with if they wish. There is always someone on hand to talk. We think that my mother-in-law was given an extra 12 months of life because of the care she received at Abbey Rose and for that we will always be thankful.
I would like to personally thank all the staff on the 1st floor for looking after my dad in his last weeks of life. He was shown kindness, empathy and received amazing care and compassion from all the nurses and care staff. My dad passed away on 12th April after a battle with mouth and throat cancer. The last days and hours were made as comfortable as possible for him due to the care and attention of the staff. The male carer who was with us at the end (he will know who he is) was so considerate and empathetic. From the bottom of my heart I thank you all
Our Mum was resident from early 2023, until the end of January 2025. We couldn't have chosen a better place for Mum to be. From day one she received first-class professional and personal care, staff were so friendly and made us feel at ease leaving her , knowing she would be safe, secure and looked after in their capable hands. From the start they went the extra mile in helping her to settle, not an easy task due to her dementia and other ailments. We felt reassured that they had her best interests at heart. Kept clean, tidy and feels more like a hotel than a care home. Her comfortable room had everything required. A truly caring place, bright and cheerful. The genuine interest, awareness and compassion shown by everyone. Staff engaged tirelessly in providing best of care, peace of mind, and stimulation. It is not too much to say that they gave us extra months with Mum we would not have had if they had not been so involved. We have nothing but praise for the care she received.
Approaching my mother's 1 year anniversary, during those reflective moments, I recalled the professional, loving, genuine and sympathetic care she received during her stay at Abbey Rose. The receptionist greeted me warmly with instant reassuring answers to my many questions and that high standard of professionalism was maintained throughout - from the smiling, friendly manager, the highly professional and always available nursing managers and nurses and the carers frequently engaging and lovingly caring for my mother. All staff we encountered were friendly and professional and made great efforts to maintain my mother's dignity and also integrate with the special themed celebrations or activities for residents, health allowing. My mother arrived, and departed, in a loving dignified manner feeling loved and part of the Abbey Rose family and for that I, my family and mother's close friends will be eternally grateful.
My brother has been here a while now. He's very happy, the staff are pleasant and courteous. The environment and surroundings are always clean and tidy. Very pleased with the level of care given and happy to see how well he's taken care of and his needs met. You work to very standards, please keep up the brilliant work you're doing Abbey Rose.
I like the staff and the care provided is effective and suitable for my Dad. All the questions I asked about my dad were answered and the nurses dealt with any issues that were related to his mental and physical health.
My sister has been in Abbey Rose Care Home since October 2023, I could not be more grateful for the way the staff have looked after her. The home is spotless and perfect for her last years there. Thank you Abbey Rose, for all that you do.
My husband was cared for with dignity, nothing was too much trouble. Any questions were answered. Nurse was always available and you could ask the staff anything. Everything was clean, he wad washed and changed everyday. Was so pleased with everything.
Since becoming a resident in April Mum has settled in well as Abbey Rose is very homely, and local to where Mum has previously lived. The home is run well by the management team who have an open-door policy. The nursing and care staff are amazing and treat Mum extremely well. They are respectful, kind and compassionate. They understand Mum and get her humour. Mum's room is spacious and light. The food is endless with meals taken in her room or in the dining room it's up to her. A trolley comes around 2/3 times a day with hot drinks snacks and cakes. Her room is cleaned daily, her laundry arrives washed, ironed and hung up in her wardrobe. Placing Mum in residential care is possibly the hardest thing I have ever done. However, I sleep well and don't wake up worrying about her as I know she is safe. Mum has also stopped asking to return home as in her own words "she feels safe and secure" at Abbey Rose and there's always someone around to talk to.
The decision to place a loved one into someone else's care is not an easy one. However, we need not have worried when Dad went into Abbey Rose with the manager and his superb team. Although sadly Dad wasn't there for many weeks, he received the utmost professional care, attention, and, dare I say it love. Dad could be a handful and not particularly appreciative of what the team was trying to do for him. Not that this impacted on the care he received daily. The team worked tirelessly to keep Dad with us for as long as possible. We cannot thank them enough.
My mum was only at the home for 7 Days, but all the staff were so kind and caring, the rooms were lovely and bright and we made my mums her own with her lighting and cushions and pictures, we could not fault the home, all staff were very knowledgeable and took us as a family through every step when my mum took a turn for the worst, unfortunately, she died 7 days after moving in but I had complete confidence in the team and management that looked after her. Thank you all so much from the bottom of our hearts you made my mum's final days. I would recommend this home it made our lives happier and restored our faith in caring, lovely people.
The manager was very helpful during the admittance process and very welcoming. Everyone at Abbey Rose was so caring and kind and I cannot praise them enough for the wonderful care my dad received. I made the right choice and my mum will go to Abbey Rose when she needs more care.
All the staff could not do enough for you. They were very helpful and polite and have a great sence of humour. The rooms were very good, big telly and very clean.
Sadly my dad passed away on the 11.5.2024. I just want to say a huge thank you to all the ground floor team at Abbey Rose Care Home for looking after and caring so much for my dad whilst he was in your care. I really don't know what I would have done without all your love and support at this difficult time. I'd like to thank each and every one of the staff members that looked after him and I know he will certainly be missed by all the amazing staff at Abbey Rose Care Home.
My mum has been a resident for just over twelve months and has settled in very well. The staff are amazing and give my Mum the 24-hour care she needs. They are always so friendly and lovely to my mum and make her and us all very welcome. My dad was a resident for a few days only last year before he passed away, however in that short time the staff were amazing and so very supportive to my mum and us all when my dad passed. There are always lots of activities for the residents and they a like one big happy family. They deserve to get paid more!
My father received the best possible care when he lived at Abbey Rose, we couldn't have asked for more. All the staff were exceptional and so kind. We realised Dad had another family who loved him like we did. In his final days, we were with him and they made Dad so comfortable, and looked after him with love, and kindness, he didn't want for anything. We will be eternally grateful, thank you.
