We needed to find a care home urgently for my 95-year old mother in October 2025. St Joseph's were very friendly, efficient and welcoming. Mum moved in within a few days and the staff were very helpful in getting everything organised, for example doctor's registration, district nurse visits etc. She was made very welcome and was encouraged to join in meal times, events etc. I would thoroughly recommend St Joseph's
I have worked in the care sector for 32 years, which makes you more aware of what good care should be. When a loved one has dementia, they are very vulnerable, they depend on the carers to attend to every need, and it is a big worry for families to trust a home to provide care for them. St Joseph's have an amazing Team of Carers, they are respectful, kind, treat everyone as an individual , and with dignity. When my mother moved into St Joseph's. It was a great relief as I did not have to worry about her as I knew the carers would look after her, as they understood her needs. I will be forever grateful to them for caring for my mother to her final days, she had 2 happy years with you. Thank you Sheena
Our Dad moved to St Josephs approx 15 months ago and despite our concerns he settled in very quickly and treated it as his home in no time at all. Without doubt the main reason for this was down to the approach and attitude of all the St Josephs team. They were consistently friendly, considerate and caring and we could see they really liked Dad. They enjoyed having fun together and didn't mind Dad busying himself with tidying up or exploring everything. The team leaders medical care was first rate they were alert to and changes and advised us and the Doctors as necessary. A huge thank you to everyone for their care and kindness.
Both my parents have been residents at St. Joseph's for a total of 4 years. Both received excellent care throughout and at their end-of-life stages. The staff are kind, friendly and compassionate and we, as a family, felt confident that they were well looked after and in a safe environment. Communication was good and I was always well informed of any issues regarding my parents. The home has a calm and welcoming atmosphere and is always spotless. I am forever grateful for the caring support and friendship my parents received from the staff and would have no hesitation in recommending St. Joseph's to anyone who needs assistance.
It is really nice to be able to write a good review and St Joseph's have deserved it! My mum has been in St Joseph's since April this year and they have been so kind to her, nothing is too much trouble, patient with her while she settled in, chatting with her. It's clean and well kept - easy visiting - food is plentiful and varied , Doctors call if required, and we feel she is 'safe' now. You make us very happy St Joseph's, thank you - all of you
Unfortunately from recent personal (mum in law had a period of respite care) experiences it has to be a zero (unfortunately I cannot score any lower) out of ten from me. Although on the face of it a negative review however, care and other ancillary staff are very much exempted from any criticism.
Mum has been at St Joseph's just over 2 weeks now, following a lengthy hospital stay & emergency operation. The staff at St Joseph's have been incredible - making a very difficult time much easier. The care they take over Mum is heart warming & although she is still settling in, I feel positive about her future for the first time in a long time. The staff are also very welcoming when we visit. The cleanliness is 5 star & the food is varied & wholesome. I feel very lucky to have get Mum a place here.
When we had to make the difficult decision to pass Mum's care into the hands of the professionals there was only place we ever considered and that was St Joseph's. We had heard so many good things about the staff and their compassionate care. We were not disappointed, from the day Mum entered the home we knew she was safe and in good hands. However the staff didn't just take care of mum they took care of us as a family too. Nothing was too much trouble for them and we will be forever grateful to them for their compassionate care especially as Mum came to the end of her life. Simply put the staff just couldn't do enough for us. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone who finds themselves no longer able to care for their loved ones at home. Thank you will never be enough!
I am my wife's carer and was looking for a care home to provide some respite. From beginning to end of her short stay at St Joseph's she was treated like a permanent resident with respect and care beyond my expectations. The staff are lovely and smile through every situation and really I wonder how they do it. As a family, we are now looking to place my wife within a care home permanently and will not look further than St Joseph's.
My mother was a resident in St Joseph's for nearly four years until her death in December 2024. I cannot say strongly enough how amazing they were in handling her care and her well being. She was not the easiest of people to deal with but everything that was done for her was done with a smile on the carers faces. Nothing was ever too much trouble. The staff's kindness in Mum's last few days was so touching. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending St Joseph's.
My mum is currently residing at St Joseph's and I wanted to say how amazing they are. One of the carers took my mum to the zoo last week which she thoroughly enjoyed and then danced to theatre music when she returned. That particular carer is so kind and the staff there are all so nice.
We chose St Joseph's for my Dad because it was recommended to us and I'll pass that recommendation on. 'If you can get your relative into St Joe's don't bother looking anywhere else'. You will not find a better home. The warmth, care, understanding and kindness they give, to the whole family, is amazing and one that we feel privileged to have been part of. St Joe's is like a family and we feel lucky to be part of that family. It has had such a positive impact on us as a family and we will be forever thankful to them all.
My father has just finished his 3rd stay at St Joseph's for dementia respite care. I cannot praise all the staff enough. The first time Dad was visited at home for the initial assessment and for his subsequent stays we felt like we were being welcomed as old friends. Not only has Dad had excellent care but the staff, both admissions and carers, were so kind and supportive to us the family during what is such a difficult time. As Dad's condition has deteriorated they really understood how hard it is for all members of the family. The food was excellent and his room was always clean. I cannot recommend St Joseph's highly enough to anyone looking for respite or permanent care.
This is the second time this year that my husband has stayed at St Joseph's for two weeks of dementia respite care. It can be quite stressful, as you have no idea how they will get on, but I needn't have worried so much as due to the kindness of the staff he settled in well and was happy to go back for a second stay. The staff welcomed him warmly and made him feel at home. It is, in my view, the kindness, friendliness and helpfulness of the staff that makes all the difference at St Joseph's and you can't put a price on that. I would have no hesitation in recommending St Joseph. And he loved the food as well!
My mother was in St Joseph's for 10 days of respite care. I was impressed from the start when 2 members of staff came to my home to meet Mum & obviously ask relevant questions. Mum was made very welcome & enjoyed her stay. She said all the staff were very attentive & friendly. She enjoyed the meals & general ambience. She may have to stay on a future date & I have no hesitation for her to go & neither does she.
During this past year, it had become increasingly evident that my mother was in need of full-time residential care and required a suitable placement in the locality. St. Joseph's came highly recommended by a neighbour and I am very pleased to have secured a place for her. She has been a resident of St. Joseph's for the past four months and I am really happy to say that she is being cared for extremely well and quickly settled in. This view is endorsed by my mother who cannot praise the staff enough for the way she is being looked after. The home is bright and airy and in very good decorative order with a pleasant feeling of warmth about the place upon entering. All of the staff that I have come across during visits, whether care staff or administrative have been pleasant to engage with and display what appears to be genuine contentment with their work. Their interactions with residents and high level of care are clear to see and from a relative's perspective very reassuring.
My father entered St Joseph's for respite care in December 2023 following a two-month stay in hospital. From the very outset, the staff and care provided to him have been outstanding. The management team facilitated his transfer directly from the hospital to the home just a few days before Christmas. His room and the shared facilities are wonderfully clean and the food is excellent. I cannot praise the carers and management team enough for their kindness and care shown to my father, who has strengthened greatly and improved so much in health because of the support and care received. The home is so welcoming also to visitors at all times and we have enjoyed a lovely Christmas and Easter Day lunch together with him in a private setting. My mother has also been into the home for respite care to enable me to take a holiday and was also so well looked after. I highly recommend St Joseph's to all who may be seeking a first-class, caring facility for a relative.
My aunt has been in St Joseph’s for almost 3 months, and I cannot praise all the staff enough. Although she was very apprehensive about leaving her home, she has settled in very well and made friends with other residents. She now participates in many of the organized activities. This has been possible because of the caring and helpful nature of the staff. She is no longer lonely, is safe, and is being well looked after.
Just three weeks ago my 100 year old mother was moved to St Joseph's to convalesce after breaking her wrist. She arrived at 24 hours notice, but was immediately made to feel welcome and was put into a comfortable room. Both management and staff could not have been kinder or more helpful. I particularly appreciated the relaxed and friendly attitude to visitors which enabled me to call in and see my mother whenever I wanted to. I have also been able to join my mother for meals in the dining room without any fuss at all, and the food was excellent. In addition, the staff were also very efficient and when I needed to collect my mother for an early hospital visit, they made sure she was dressed and ready on time. I should add, that I have been repeatedly struck by the warmth and kindness of everyone at St Josephs and would recommend it highly to anyone looking for a happy and well-run establishment for the twilight years of their near and dear.
Mum (ninety-three) had a very restful and enjoyable stay. Food, staff and carers were very supportive and caring. The only thing we found was the room was not ready when Mum arrived and the lift broke down halfway through the stay. The staff were very good and were able to move Mum to a lower floor. Lovely environment, airy and spacious.
