View Full Details of Brooke HouseI was very worried about leaving my Mother as she lives with us full time, she is a quiet lady and has dementia, my worries quickly went when I met the kind, caring staff at Brook House. They showered her with kindness, and when I collected her two weeks later I found her to be very happy and clean and she had improved greatly in herself, she said she had had a lovely time and that she would happily go again for, as she put it, her holiday. Thank you to all the staff who work so hard and look after their clients as if they were their own, not only have the staff looked after my mother but our whole family and I can't speak highly enough of them, I will always choose Brook House in the future.
My husband had a very good experience during a period of respite care. Carers ensured he took part in activities offered. Would recommend Brooke House and will come for future respite care I hope.
Mum has recently had two weeks in Brooke House whilst she recovered from a hip replacement. As she has an early dementia diagnosis and struggles with change, we were apprehensive about how she would adapt to a new routine and environment. We need not have worried, she enjoyed it so much that she is planning to return for a 'holiday' in the summer! Every single person on the team was so caring and friendly, and we always felt that mum was in great hands and being very well looked after. The food was a particular highlight, especially the cakes - luckily my afternoon visits tended to coincide with the tea trolley coming round! Very quickly everyone knew mum's name and she enjoyed watching muntjac deer from her window. The activities team were relentlessly cheery with everyone and the carers were always kind and supportive. I would not hesitate to recommend Brooke House to anyone looking for a place where their loved one can feel part of a family, not just be a resident.
My Godmother has now been a resident at Brooke House for just over a year. She absolutely loves the view from her room across the parkland where Muntjac deer, pheasants and a variety of birds can often be observed. It is a delightfull, relaxing setting, perfect for a care home! Her health is good and she is usually relaxed, happy and talkative and coping with life well which is a credit to all the staff. Everywhere is very clean and well looked after. The catering staff provide excellent food. It's a pleasure to visit especially at tea time when delicious cakes and tea are provided! Their are a wide range of activities daily and trips out for those that are able to do so or wish to partake. The staff also organise various functions when residents and their relatives can enjoy the summer sun in the gardens with refreshments and entertainment . I feel confident that my Godmother is safe , happy and well cared and it's a pleasure to visit.
Both my parents have been residents at Brooke House since January 2021. They prefer to spend time away from the main areas and enjoy having their meals together, in private, which the staff are very happy to facilitate. I have always been informed promptly of any medical concerns and the appropriate action has been taken. With the idyllic, rural setting of Brooke House, it is possible to observe and, on fine days, communicate with nature within the grounds. This means a lot to my parents as they have always loved the countryside.
My nan/mum had been in the care home for twenty months. She had previously been a different home but Brooke House is, by far, the better home by a mile. This goes down to the standard off the home to the food, activities and the very friendly carers. Brooke House really took care of my nan like she was their family, true care and empathy for her. I can't thank the lovely management and staff enough for everything they have done and will always be truly grateful.
Brooke House has looked after my mum for the last two years and all the staff there have done an excellent job of caring for her as her physical and mental capabilities have declined. They have adapted the level of care accordingly and always made sure Mum was safe and supported. They are really kind and dedicated. The number and variety of activities and entertainment provided seem to have increased over the last months which Mum really appreciates. We reviewed a really detailed and accurate care plan with the management recently and feel confident that all her medical needs are being met.
Wonderful welcome, easy to engage with the staff and ask any questions. Feel part of the family already only after a few difficult days. Thank you so much.
Visiting Brooke House is always a happy experience. Mum loves living there and tells me you only have to mention something and it appears. Staff are all so patient and kind. Activities are good and Mum enjoys them. After a period of management change, we are relieved to see a great manager in place now. Thanks Brooke - we know Mum is in good hands.
The welcome into the home is always warm and welcoming. Staff are always courteous. As a blind person, when my husband visits his sister (in the dementia unit), we would appreciate members of staff announcing their names and designated roles on meeting, until he was familiar with the voices! The home is always warm and bright and very clean. With residents varying degrees of Alzheimer's/dementia, it is difficult to engage in activities but this does appear to be, in our opinion, somewhat patchy. Dining areas are superb, with attention to detail, beautiful crockery, cutlery, napkins and fresh flowers on every table.
My wife has been a resident of Brooke House for 18 months. She is cared for and loved by the staff and has a big smile for them, which means a lot to me. They care and attention to the needs of the residents is second to none. The house is kept to a very high standard by the domestic staff and the meals are prepared well with a good range of menus. I have observed (and taken part) in the activities provided by the activity coordinators which add greatly to the lives of those living here.
The staff have all contributed to making the recent move to the home as positive experience as possible for both my parents. The parent staying has been well cared for and has seemed to have relaxed and settled in the new surroundings. The parent visiting has been treated with kindness and consideration.
Brooke House is amazing! The staff are really friendly and look after Mum exceptionally well! As a family, we are always made to feel welcome and included. Dad is always welcome to have dinner with Mum and we are always treated to a slice of homemade cake in the afternoons! The activities arranged for the residents are great and include trips to the seaside! Thank you to all the staff.
My experience of Brooke House is a positive one. My father has been shown kindness, compassion and respect from all staff - manager, carers, ancillary staff. Communication with us, his family, is strong and any request/question we have is answered swiftly and fully. We are made welcome whenever we visit and never have the feeling that anything is put on for us for 'show'. When we visit, we can see that all residents are treated with the same care and patience as my father. The home has a warm and welcoming atmosphere and clearly, a strong emphasis has been put on making it homely and not clinical. Nor does it have an institutional feel. The food is of a very high quality. Choosing a home for my father was not easy and we are now quite confident that we chose the right home for him. The culture of Brooke House is to ensure residents continue to live their lives with dignity, which is equally important as any other aspect of their care - if not more so.
Brooke House staff were fantastic looking after Dad he was looked after with care and respect not just his physical needs but also his psychological and social needs. The home was always clean and smelt nice and the food passed Dad's very critical pallet. Thanks for looking after Dad so well.
My father went to Brooke House Care Home after a spell in hospital in June. He has physically improved since being in the home but his mental capacity has deteriorated. The staff and support he gets are very good and he is happy to be there. The home is lovely with a wonderful garden and surrounding countryside. As my father says, "I am in the perfect place for a retired farmer". We are very pleased with our choice of home for our father.
I moved my mum to Brooke House around May after the care home she was in failed to care for her, this was the best decision I have ever made. From day one, I was so impressed by the home, the furnishings and the garden. My mum has excelled in every way possible and that's all thanks to such a wonderful team. The management team are amazing, their warmth, kindness and understanding. They really listen and care about what I am saying. The care that my mum has received has been nothing but love, support, understanding and friendship from the carers. The home is beautiful. It feels so homely and is always so clean and well-kept. The food is amazing, nothing is too much trouble and all the staff go above and beyond to make it such a happy place to be. I cannot thank you all enough for everything that you are doing for my mum. I know she is so happy here and she loves it.
My mother receives excellent care at Brooke House. All the staff are very kind and caring. They are patient and always treat Mum with respect. The house is set in a wonderful location and the facilities are very good.
Brooke staff are professional, caring and considerate and that applies to everyone, whatever their job. Since being at Brooke my partner has received extreme kindness and help for which I thank them all.
Since the appointment of the new manager, the whole atmosphere has improved dramatically, including proper recording of visitors entering and leaving. I do feel that more could be done by way of mental stimulus for residents capable of benefitting from it.
