View Full Details of Overbury HouseMy husband is warm, clean and well fed at all times. The staff and carers take great care of my husband, they are smiling and jolly. Because he is deaf they make sure his requests are met by talking to him by writing everything down for him. Myself and family are pleased my husband is cared for at Overbury House.
Harold was asked to leave his previous home because of his challenging behaviour, and I was getting worried, thinking no other home would accommodate him. However, Overbury House accepted and made adjustments to manage his nighttime wanderings. Overbury puts the needs of the residents first and gives them time to adjust. My husband is settling in, and I have some peace of mind for the first time in five months.
What a lovely place - having been let down at the last minute regarding respite care for my father the staff at Overbury House stepped up and took Dad at very short notice. We were greeted by the staff on arrival who went out of their way to make Dad feel welcome - as usual I was juggling an awful lot of things on the day and their "nothings too much trouble" attitude really helped. Dad, myself and my black Labrador Honey were given a tour of the facilities before I handed Dad over to their care. On my return a week later Dad was having so much fun he refused to come home with me and demanded an extra night which he duly had. I returned the following day and was met by the activities and wellbeing coordinator. What can I say, she is clearly a force of nature and fully invested in her role and proceeded to show me photo after photo of Dads activities in my absence- to be honest I will struggle to compete now he is home but I feel it will not be long before Dad will be back.
It was a very difficult time for me in hospital, however, when I came to Overbury House, everything turned around for the better. All the staff without exception are fantastic and helped to turn my health around. I will be forever grateful and will miss everyone now I am ready to go home.
My brother-in-law was admitted to Overbury House after a lengthy stay in hospital. Immediately, I felt that they knew him and what care was required. The whole feel of the place is homely, the staff are very friendly and welcoming and always have time to say hello with a smile. Nothing seems to be too much trouble.
Overbury House provided wonderful, compassionate care for my dad during the last few weeks of his life. The kindness and support shown both to Dad and us as a family was truly wonderful and very much appreciated. There was always time for a smile and a kind word from all of the staff which helped create a warm, welcoming and homely atmosphere. Thank you so much, Overbury House.
I am very happy with Overbury House. Everybody is very good at their jobs. They are kind and cannot do enough for you. The meals are very good, I don't think you could get a better place for any body to stay.
My dad was in the best place in the world at Overbury House care home. He loved all the staff dearly, as do I and my family, and they have become our extended family. Nothing was ever too much trouble for the manager or her team, they made time to pop in and chat to Dad and went well above and beyond. I am truly proud to have had my dad cared for by Overbury House. The love and care they give to their residents is second to none and even though my dad is no longer with us, there's no other place I'd rather be on Christmas Day than with them.
My father-in-law was with Overbury House for 26 months. The care in this home is beyond anything else I have sever seen. The carers are all amazing and provide such loving care. The manager and the rest of the Overbury Team are truly amazing. They have become our extended family and having lost my father-in-law, we will keep in touch because they are all truly amazing people. Nothing is too much trouble and despite a busy environment, they all have time for us always.
Dad was admitted to Overbury House in October 2024 with dementia and physical health issues. Although his stay with you was short before his passing, the care and attention he received was wonderful. This extended all the way through the home, cleaning staff, carers, nurses and management all treated him and us as his family with compassion and respect. We have no hesitation in recommending Overbury House for anyone seeking a home for their loved ones.
My father-in-law was lucky enough to be offered a place at Overbury in August 2024, unfortunately, he was suffering from terminal cancer, and we were struggling to care for him at home, to be honest, neither us nor himself wanted him to leave our home and therefor although he agreed it was under protest and was very cantankerous at the beginning of his residency there. Fortunately, within two weeks the care given won him around and settled in and made friends with virtually all the staff. The care, support, and communication both ways were excellent and we felt we were still a part of his care package and this gave us peace of mind. We could visit whenever we wanted (including the family dog) and stay however long we wanted to, we were always made to feel welcome and everyone was very sociable with us and our father. Unfortunately, he passed in November, very peacefully and very respectfully, again the staff helped us through that process completely, which we are thankful for.
The care my dad received was amazing from every member of staff. I can't fault anyone. From the very first day, it was clear to see that my dad would receive the love and care he so deserved in my dad's final days. All staff went above and beyond to preserve his dignity and keep him as comfortable as possible. They spent so much time taking him, so he wasn't afraid. Even when they finish their shift. The love and care at Overbury House is outstanding. Thank you so much to every single person, you are amazing.
Since my mother came to the home approx 16 months ago, we have only seen love and care given to her freely by all the staff and carers, with excellent care given, still giving her respect and keeping her dignity as best as they can possibly can for her. Staff here are simply brilliant.
Nobody wants their parent to 'go into a home', however all my fears and worries were for nothing. The whole team at Overbury House could not have been more welcoming to my Mum. She settled into her new environment quicker than I expected, given her dementia, and I am sure this is due to the care and kindness shown to her. All the little bumps along the way have been dealt with, with care and compassion, keeping us informed at all times. Overbury House is an older house, which lends to its lovely character and charm. It has a really homely feel about it, with a lovely garden, Mum loves her room, and they are more than happy for personal items to be brought in, including pictures for the wall etc. I cannot be more pleased having found this care home for my Mum. I can honestly say I do not worry about my Mum when I am not there as I know she is receiving the best care we could ask for. I would not hesitate to recommend this facility to anyone. Thank you Overbury House.
I find the manager and staff very helpful and friendly. Mum is well cared for and she loves her room and all the staff.
A friendly and warm care home where all the staff are like family and go beyond the mile to ensure all the resident's needs are catered for. Nothing is too much trouble for them, and they all make our family extremely welcome.
My dad was cared for at Overbury House Nursing and Residential Home from 24/7/23 to his passing on 10/9/23. Throughout this time all of the staff treated my dad with respect, dignity, compassion and cared for him as if he was a family member whilst providing practical and emotional support to me and my family. Dad spent his last few months being cared for by lovely staff and we the family fully supported throughout. As a family, we can't thank the team (Overbury family) enough for their care and support. From our hearts thank you.
Nursing staff - professional and responsive to medical needs. Caring staff - very mixed, some highly responsive and proactive to the needs of residents and others not so. Laundry - a difficult role with mixed clothing returned to the room and some not returned (all labelled), eg three single socks (labelled).
Overbury is a lovely home, and my relative is looked after and cared for very well by the amazing care staff who take time to ensure every effort is taken to provide all the care and support required. The staff and management team are always so friendly and caring and a lovely team, and I know they go the extra mile to provide an excellent home for my mother, who is very happy there. Thank you to you all for doing such a wonderful job.
For Mum, given her dementia and being bed-bound, the biggest issue is the inconsistency of good hygiene and cleanliness of the facility. On some visits, the room is clean and tidy, on others, we find food and drinks that may have been there for several days. The room on these occasions can also be dirty, and food residue on bed try and bedding. We think this is not good enough. The carers and manager are friendly and always listen; however, whilst implemented, changes do not necessarily continue.
