My mother has been at Barons Down for four months now. She has a lovely sunny room with views over the South Downs. We are allowed to visit anytime and it's never a problem. Dogs are welcome and there's always some treats for them. The staff here have been wonderful. Everyone is friendly, cheerful
and helpful - to both Mum and her visitors. Although she has little appetite these days, she says the food is very good and the chef goes out of his way to find something to entice her with. There are daily activities in the lounge for the residents. Unfortunately, my mother doesn't want to join in but she does get some one-to-one time in her room and has her nails painted regularly. Everyone went out of their way to make Christmas as fun as possible. I feel we have fallen on our feet with Barons Down. My mother looks healthier than she has done for years and we are safe in the knowledge that she is getting great care and being looked after very well.

delicious party food.

Staff always respond well to requests and concerns. My sister-in-law is well cared for and she can have very up and down days. Particularly pleased with the activities coordinator - she always makes the effort to include my sister-in-law even if they have to bring the activity to her room. The
manager is very approachable. The nurse in charge of my sister-in-law’s care, together with the GP's weekly visit, ensures that health matters are addressed. I do think staff in this home do try hard to meet their residents’ needs.

Our mother spent the last couple of years of her life here. She had a bright, spacious room and a lovely view. She could have lots of her favourite things around her.
She chose not to join in any activities as she had her own interests and enjoyed the tv provided. The kindness and friendliness of
the staff meant that Mum was very happy. She was treated with affection and respect. We always felt welcome on our frequent visits. Mum was kept safe. There have been a number of changes in management band we feel these could have been communicated better.
