View Full Details of Higham HouseMy wife was placed here a year ago by the hospital; they took her away from me because she had got "too much". An awful experience! Of course I was upset by the whole episode, but I needn't have worried. The management and staff are brilliant, helpful in any way they can be, given some of the circumstances that they have to deal with. I have no concerns in the way my wife is looked after, any issues are almost immediately resolved. Although the house is "olde world", it is always clean and tidy, again, a good housekeeping team. I have no hesitation in recommending the home for anyone with the need. Never judge a book by its cover!
My father moved to Higham House last year after many years at home with live-in day carers so I was apprehensive when he wasn't able to stay at his house and move into a care home. Fortunately, we were not disappointed and we feel the home have been extremely caring towards him, accommodating his needs and ensuring he is kept safe. The care home dealt with the Covid challenge well and ensured the residents stayed safe, without putting them or the staff at risk. My father has limited needs but even so, the staff went out of their way to ensure they were met. For example, my father was used to watching DVDs and so agreed that we could bring in his player and movies from his former house. He also loves colouring and the team set up a table for him to hold his many pencils and colouring books. Whilst the home is an older property, the rooms are of a good size and maintained and kept clean and tidy. I would recommend Higham House to anyone needing a care home for a family member.
