My mother stayed at Churchfields for a short time for end of life attentive care .
During her time there I cannot praise the staff enough for the caring attention they gave to my mother .
Special mention to mikhala and Dommy for the special attention and help they gave to me during my visits to my
mother.
Many thanks for looking after my mother during her short time with you .

I selected this Care Home after searching the Witney/Oxford area for an elderly lady with Alzheimer's. Churchfields is in a beautiful village setting with patio and large garden areas; it's small enough to be personal and large enough to offer a range of good support staff and plenty of communal
spaces of different character, all with lovely views and decor. Lots of activities. Bedrooms are very clean and pleasant with TV and seating area and en suite bathroom. Plenty of good food, though at times a bit prosaically presented.
Margaret was only there a few months before sadly she had a fall from which she did not recover. However I am so glad she spent her last months in such a beautiful and friendly place. The staff really are exceptional and there is an atmosphere of genuine caring and enthusiasm to value people and maximise their quality of life. Sharon, the Manager, is a strong character who carefully selects her people - with the aid of residents - to ensure this human face

My husband is a recent arrival and it has been a revelation to me. All staff have been patient, kind and welcoming to us both and I could not ask for better. He participates in activities he would not do at home and is settling well.

My mother was resident at Churchfields just under a year. In that short time, she enjoyed a better life than in the years before which had become difficult and distressing for her, followed by a rather worrying search for a suitable residential home. The moment we found Churchfields, we knew it was
the right place. My mother's time at Churchfields brought her true contentment and calm, the care was exceptional and we felt we had gained an additional family in the last months of our mother's life. The understanding of dementia at Churchfields is deep, understanding and compassion go hand in hand. Every aspect of care is superb, every member of the team knows every resident for themselves, the atmosphere is gentle and warm and there are varied and joyful activities, and it is excellently managed and resourced. I don't have the words to express my thanks for the way Churchfields cared for our mother, and how kind and thoughtful everyone was towards the whole family.

A warm, closely knit community where everyone is appreciated and cared for as the interesting and unique individuals that they are. Thanks for treating Mum with respect and dignity and for doing it with a kindly sense of humour.

environment to be looked after in.

The staff are very welcoming and are open to chatting to us. Their treatment of my nan is amazing, always asking her what she wants to do instead of telling her what to do.
Most of all, they have made her feel welcome. I can tell that they love having her around and truly want to support her in
the best possible way.
It is amazing to see how involved the staff let her get in with the home, cleaning and everything she wants to do to help.

Jennifer and I are profoundly grateful for the wonderful care that you took of Ian during his stay over the past 3 years. We know that he much appreciated it too. In October 2022, Ian was discharged from the hospital with the prognosis of less than six months of life expectancy. The care and support
that you gave him extended this a few more years, from our prospective he was safe in your hands, and you gave us peace of mind, knowing that any health or medical needs were immediately addressed. This was invaluable. Thank you for everything.

Since moving in, my mother-in-law has settled very well to living at Churchfields. There are lots of activities going on for her to join in with, which she really enjoys. The staff are always very welcoming and friendly. Meals are always appetising, and she enjoys eating with other residents. We are
often asked if we would like to stay for lunch when we visit.

My Mother became a resident in Sept '25, when it became clear, due to her lack of mobility and age she could no longer take care of herself, and with both my sister and I living in the USA, not being able to help.
Having visited with my mother the first two weeks when she moved in, and recently
for a week in the new year, it has become very clear it was the right decision. The care she receives is second to none, the staff are very caring and attentive to her needs, they treat her with respect, dignity and friendliness. I have got to know a lot of the staff myself, and each day I arrive at the home, and during the day, I am greeted with a smile, and they genuinely seem very happy in what they are doing, which directly impacts the well-being and comfort of the residents. If my mother is seen by outside doctors or nurses, I am always kept up to date with and email from the care home nurses.
Living so far away, Churchfield offers me great peace of mind, my mother is in good hands.

My father has spent almost 6 months at Churchfield, a period which started with an emergency respite care admission under very difficult circumstances which was compassionately and competently handled. He is now a permanent resident and despite presenting many difficulties in his personal life as
well as his health, has settled down due to the patience and endless good humour of the staff.
Churchfield has a cosy family atmosphere, with an emphasis on keeping residents busy, but it's also very efficiently run when it comes to meeting the challenging health care demands of many residents. The staff are painstaking and experienced and diligent about keeping relatives involved about developments in the care of their loved ones. It's probably unfair to single any one person out, but Sharon, the manager, leads brilliantly from the front.

Although my husband does not appreciate the care he is receiving, as a family we are very grateful he is safe and well cared for. He is well fed; having put back on the weight he lost during an 8 week hospital stay and has been known to take part in some of the variety of activities on offer. The
staff are all friendly and welcoming and it is reassuring to know there is 24 hour nursing care.

My husband has Parkinson's and confined to a wheelchair. He originally had several periods of respite care here early in 2025.Due to my own ill health he has now been a resident at Churchfields since August 2025.
He is looked after exceptionally well and treated with dignity and compassion. The
carers are amazingly empathetic and really seem to know him well as an individual. He enjoys all the activities and joins in with enthusiasm and interest. He has told me : 'They look after me well here'.
In the summer he was able to sit outside on the terrace and to enjoy playing boules and table tennis from his wheelchair in the lovely gardens.
I am impressed with the different activities the home provides.Live music, visits from an owl sanctuary,Shetland pony visits as well as physical activities and trips out in the minibus.
I have every confidence in the staff and management to look after my husband in a safe and caring environment.I would highly recommend Churchfields Care Home.

My wife has received excellent care during the time she has been in the care home.
A well run home with very good and caring staff. There is a lovely patio area at the rear of the care home that is a good asset in the summer.

My mum became a respite resident in July 2025 (suffering with dementia), from the initial meeting with Sharon (care home manager) and meeting the senior team we realised very quickly that we had made the right decision. I visit at least 3 times a week and I'm always greeted in a professional and
friendly way and my mum is always participating in activities and regular trips out in the minibus to local clubs. I love the regular social media posts that show the activities and the residents including my mum appear to be happy and engaged. I'm sure there are stressful times for the Churchfields team, but I've never seen this, they are always smiling and happy to help. Recently the flu virus hit the care home, Sharon and her team kept us up to date on the situation and still made you feel welcome and making sure that the residents where well looked after. My first experience of Christmas in a care home.......it was fantastic! As always THANKS!
