View Full Details of Florence House Care HomeFrom the first time I was invited to see the home and where my husband would be, until today, I have been very happy with the home, staff and management of Florence House. The carers and staff are all very caring and friendly towards my husband and me. The carers and staff are very supportive and very good at their jobs. Thank you all for caring so well for my husband and making my life easier, knowing he is so happy and well looked after. It's a great relief to know that he is in such a wonderful home.
Mum has been a resident now for about 1 year and a half. Care is exceptional as mum is not the easiest to look after. At times she gets very frustrated and angry because of her dementia. Staff are all so very kind and patient with her. They always have a smile for us when any family visit. Home is always very clean and all residents look very clean and tidy. The home seems to run very efficiently and nothing is too much trouble. The entertainment organisers are especially amazing & always go above & beyond to keep the residents happy & occupied.
My experience when visiting has always been a pleasant one. Your staff are welcoming, friendly and polite. I always find my husband in clean bedding and his room is always clean. He's always clean and tidy, due to the care he receives from your staff. We had a lovely time at your summer barbecue. You managed to bring my husband down into the garden to join us. friend and myself also enjoyed our time at the barbecue; it was such a fun event. Thank you from me. Your staff often tell me if my husband has had a good day, which is lovely to hear. You arrange things like cutting of toe nails, hair cuts which is always good to hear. I do look forward to coming in to visit my husband and I do believe that's partly down to the friendly warm welcome I get from your brilliant staff. I have been visiting for just over 4 years and never have I had any doubts about my husband's care. I'm very grateful to Florence House and all the lovely staff.
I find the staff very friendly and helpful they seem very caring The home was clean and looked well looked after Robbie is not an easy person to look after but I feel they respond to his needs And they keep me updated as I don't live near so can't get to see him very often
My father was transferred from a care home to Florence House. He was a little confused initially, but soon settled in. All the staff, carers, nurses, activities, administration and managerial are all very professional, kind, caring and respectful. My father loves it there and I know that he is very well looked after and I thank them from the bottom of my heart for that. I'm looking forward to celebrating my father's 98th birthday in July with him and the staff as they really push the boat out with cards, gifts, balloons and of course cake. Thank you all so very much for what you do for my father and the residents of this lovely home.
My mother has been in care now since coming out from 2 2-month stay in hospital. For 6 weeks now and another 2 weeks in that time, I have found the staff/nurses very friendly helpful well organised and caring for my mother in a respectable professional way. She has already put on weight 3 kilos, still underweight, and bed-bound, but she is in late Alzheimer's, Dementia at age 82. She is very clean and they always ask if you want food and drinks. In my opinion excellent first time in a care home.
I went to Florence House yesterday to visit my father who is in a bad way, but the nursing staff and the manager were amazing and doing such a good job with my father. As for his birthday, they even put balloons and banners up for him on his door and his window and they made us so welcome. How he did improve there since he came out of hospital and he even put on some weight, but I want to thank all of the staff for what they have done for him. The room was so much better than I thought and there was enough room in there too, so I was so surprised to see all of the cards he had received on the mantelpiece where he could see them. You have all helped him so much and I thank you from the bottom of my heart and he has done well. Even though he is a fighter, he is struggling now as he isn’t so strong, but he still keeps on going and such an amazing man is my father. So many thanks to all of you and to the manager who spent some time with me.
Mum, aged 89, was transferred to Florence House for palliative care following an operation for a fractured hip and a fractured wrist. She survived for only 10 days and during that short time the effect on her well-being and appearance was very significant. The staff were invariably sympathetic, kind and attentive, resulting in an overwhelming improvement to her appearance and comfort. During this short, but important final phase of her life, the family were invariably impressed with the staff and thankful for the improvement to her final days. It was for both our family and the staff of Florence House, a job well done.
The staff at Florence House looked after my father in his final days and were wonderful. They treated him with kindness and dignity, and he was very well cared for. The staff were kind to both my father and our family, and I would highly recommend Florence House.
Words cannot say enough about the care my mother received while staying at Florence House Care Home, every single carer, staff, cook, Dr and nurses, are just wonderful people. When mum passed away the care shown to me and my family was exceptional. Couldn’t recommend enough about Florence House Care Home. Thank you, everyone xxxxxxxxx
We were so lucky that there was space for my father in Florence House when he was transferred from Royal Berkshire Hospital in late November 2021 for palliative care. The room he was in was nice and clean with a nice view, but most of all the care from all the staff was fantastic. I was called in the morning of mid-January to be told they thought our father did not have much time left. My sister and I sat with him all day. The carers bought us food and drinks all day, It was so nice that as carers and nurses came on shift or got a chance, they came and asked us if they could hold his hand and say their goodbyes. Our father slipped away late afternoon. We are so grateful for the compassion and care our father was given. Thank you so much.
Top marks all round to staff, carers, and all concerned.
There has been a big improvement over the past year or so. Then home is calmer and more organized with the focus on the wellbeing of the residents.
