View Full Details of Whitstable Nursing HomeFrom the very start, all staff were very reassuring and kind. They helped ease mum and us into her new circumstances and were very accommodating with requests and finding foods that would suit mum's needs and ways to make her as comfortable as possible. Unfortunately mum was only able to enjoy the home for a short time but during that time we observed everyone going out of their way to care and help us deal with the situation. They were, without exception, friendly, patient, skilful, professional, understanding and helpful. We cannot thank them enough for the level of care particularly towards the end of the chapter. The only criticism we would have is the obvious lack of investment into the building and business. Whilst not unserviceable, some areas of the home looked tired and there are areas (some outside) that would benefit from an overhaul. Additionally, it seems that the staff are the key to the success of this business but this is not adequately recognised. Owners - do better!
My mother came to be in this nursing home after she had a few months in hospital, unfortunately she was under palliative care as there was not a lot of hope of a full recovery, the team at this home were exceptionally kind and always willing to try with my mum, everyone one was amazing to the end when her condition got the better of her, I can't thank them enough.
My Dad has recently moved into Whitstable Nursing Home and I cannot fault the care that has been displayed to him. All of the staff are supportive of not only him but me as it is very daunting to put a loved one into a care home. They have made us both feel very welcome and part of a family. His room is really bright and we've been able to put up pictures which make it seem much more homely. The location of the home is so central to Whitstable and I've been able to take him out to the beach and into the town, which is great. All I want is my dad to be happy and safe and cared for and he certainly is at Whitstable Nursing Home.
My brother-in-law was placed in the home a week or so before he died. He was so well looked after by all the staff and we could not have wished a better end for him. All the staff also looked after us so well. We consider ourselves so lucky because my father had also been cared for by the very same staff a few years before, they seem almost like a family. Thank you.
My mother was a resident of Whitstable Nursing Home from Novenber 2024 -February 2025. Her time there, although short, was very happy and she received excellent care from the Nursing staff. Everyone there was attentive and caring and my mother expressed to me on a number of occasions that she felt happy and content at the home. The meals, freshly prepared from the on site kitchen were excellent and the residents nutritional needs are well catered for. As I did not live locally, the staff kept me well informed and I was always able to speak to my mother by telephone when not able to visit We will be forever grateful to the nursing staff for making my mother's end of life not just comfortable but peaceful and dignified. I would have no hesitation in recommending The Whitstable Nursing Home.
I stayed in WNH for approximately 8 weeks for respite care following a bad broken shoulder bone and needing 24 hour support. Overall the care was good with particular individuals exceptional. Generally I was made to feel welcome and all the staff team made time to cheer the day up. The nursing care was good, the kitchen, laundry and cleaning staff were hard working and versatile.
Placing my mother in a nursing home was a difficult but necessary decision. She has been in the home for nearly three years and we have been delighted with her care. As her health conditions have progressed, the team have adapted to changing needs. Beyond great clinical care, the staff have been kind and professional, treating Mum like a family member. We are delighted that we chose Whitstable Nursing Home.
Impressive location and appearance from the outside. Great staff are friendly, helpful, kind and considerate. Good facilities, events and plenty of staff on hand to provide support.
I have been very impressed with this home each time I have visited my good friend.
Mum has been at Whitstable Nursing Home for 2.5 years now and throughout that time every care standard, staff and overall friendly, family feel of the home has been exceptional. As an ex-registered mental health nurse who was based in the community and had to visit dozens of nursing and residential homes on a regular basis, I more than understand the pressures of intensive caregiving and this home has always delivered amazing care to both my mother and other residents on a consistent basis. I cannot thank everyone here enough for the ongoing outstanding care they are giving to Mum.
After reading all your glowing reports was very shocked as our relative was admitted here for a short while, her care was not as you have described. She had food put in drawers and over the other side of the room so she could not reach, by staff. She was not sat up until staff asked to do, and the staff had to be asked to help her sit out. She was often found in uncomfortable sleeping positions, not getting the help she deserved. I found her heart medications on the floor of her room. She was injured here during care where staff failed to send her to the hospital for a leg haematoma, staff would not admit to how it happened, this injury and total lack of care has caused our relative almost a year of absolute pain and discomfort. It's a shame our relative went here as she would not have been injured, no one cared enough to send her to the hospital for the correct treatment. Staff qualifications and skills need reassessing and the ones who severely injured our relative need sacking.
My dad is very happy. Staff are very helpful and caring. Very friendly atmosphere. Due to staff, us visitors are treated very well. It seems to be like one big family.
We have found the home warm and comfortable and the food is prepared suitably for my husband's Parkinson's symptoms. The staff from management to carers cook and cleaning/laundry staff have all been friendly and approachable. Well done Whitstable Nursing Home! Thank you.
Very homely with a very good atmosphere. Staff are always on hand and professional. Residents are never alone and staff are always doing, never just sitting around. The home is warm and inviting and feels like a real home.
My mother spent a year living at Whitstable Nursing Home. I live locally and visited almost every day. I got to know the staff and observed their care and interactions. My mother needed nursing care but was also able to articulate her needs. She and I both agree that the standard of care was good. The staff team was stable which enabled relationships to develop. The nurses were exceptional in tailoring her care and needs, responding to her requests and wishes. I felt assured that she was safe and cared for.
Although mum was not there long, the care of mum and myself was just fantastic. Would recommend this home to anyone. The staff were so helpful, and caring and nothing was a problem. They kept me informed of everything.
Although my mother was only a resident for 2 months before she passed away. We as a family cannot praise and be more thankful for the care she received. We have to give a special mention to the management team, absolutely brilliant and professional when it came to Mum's passing, and also to every other member of staff, all are excellent.
My mum is in your home and the family feel she's being well looked after. The staff have a lovely friendly feel amongst themselves. They work as a team. My mum would tell me if things were not right. Mark my words she's happy.
Unable to care for Dad at home. A bed became available at Whitstable Nursing Home. The best decision/necessity ever made. They are amazing, fantastic, brilliant, wonderful - etc etc.
I personally feel that the patients should get homemade cakes in the afternoon, not just biscuits as most have a job to eat. Instead of the cook being on their mobile phone, could spend the time making or baking cakes, I know the patients would appreciate this as biscuits are hard for them, the cakes would be a lot softer for them. The home is well-run, very clean. Staff very good.
