View Full Details of Robertson Nursing HomeMy father first came to Robinson Nursing Home three years ago after an illness, likely caused by his own and his local council's carers neglect. From the moment he arrived here, his condition improved and continued to improve and with the friendly staff and environment, he now enjoyed his days despite his dementia. I put this down to the excellent quality of care, food and stimulation that he received. Eventually, just over a year ago I moved him to a partner care home in the group at Hindhead. Here he thrived for a while but unfortunately, a tumour/cancer developed and following a long stay in hospital recently, he then required end of life care. I knew Robinsons was the right place for him and so, upon release he was again gently and respectfully cared for until his departure from this earth a few weeks ago. I know that returning dad to Robertsons was the right decision and I believe that he had the best possible care for the last two months of his life.
Before entering Robertsons my mother suffered an on-going leg condition. When she suffered an infection the home's registered nurse explained the measures undertaken to identify & treat it, infection control procedures (including visitor restrictions) and the specialist NHS scans to find the underlying cause. Gratefully Robertsons has 'in-house' registered nurses with detailed knowledge of resident's & their medical profiles. My Mother's mobile phone enables my daily contact however her decline has resulted in it being mislaid & keypad errors. Likewise, the TV remote control presents its own challenges. Staff helping to resolve such issues is an example of the carer's helpfulness I've experienced. The Manager, Gabi, ensues relatives are updated with the home's major redevelopment that will ensure Robertsons has a bright future. The home's new electronic visitor log, a small example of the home's continual improvements, enhances confidentiality & record keeping.
I came in an afternoon to visit my mum, there was lovely musical entertainment, engaging for the residents, and they and visitors thoroughly enjoyed it. Very kind and welcoming ambience, staff always attentive to the residents, and always had time for their visitors :) At the moment, there is building work going on to improve the home, but this is very well managed and doesn't seem to have a negative impact on the residents in any way.
Very friendly, caring staff who not only look after their residents well but also extend a warm welcome to family and friends who visit. Dad seems very settled and always comments on how lovely everyone is with him.
My father was a resident from July 2021 to June this year when he sadly passed away. During that time, the staff at Robertson treated him with great care and he was very happy indeed. I am quite sure that the kindness, sympathy and medical skill shown by the carers, nurses and administrative staff, prolonged Dad's life. Working with them, to understand Dad's need, we were able to give him an untroubled, relatively pain free last few years. I will always be grateful to all the Management and staff at Robertson, for their help and understanding. They truly made Dad feel part of their family and I will never forget this.
This wonderful Caring residence continues to be our family's reassuring place for the care of our elderly relative. The attention to detail and kind consideration is invaluable and we are so happy to find our relative content and well cared for on each visit. More recently we have noticed fewer qualified healthcare assistants available in the conservatory for the attention of residents who routinely spend their day there. This has led to some residents having to wait an unacceptable length of time when they need assistance to visit the bathroom. Having said that, there is always an Activities person present who can call for appropriate assistance, but this assistance can take too long to arrive. I am not sure if this is as a result of temporary staffing issues. It can make a visit stressful to witness anxious residents. It can also result in Activities staff feeling neglected and under pressure when they are unable to assist the resident. This has become a recent worry for us.
My Mum has been at Robertsons now for nearly 4 Months. What struck me from the beginning was how friendly and Diligent all the staff are The staff all appear to have a genuine and professional approach to Care. They have demonstrated a real dignified and respectful manner in the way they look after my Mum, which is very reassuring for the Family.
Dad's not been at Robertsons for very long, but all members of the team have made Dad feel extremely welcome and settled. It's like a home from home. The care and compassion of the team is outstanding.
My father received excellent care at Robertson's. The carers and nurses were very kind to him and made his final year as good as it could be. I always knew he was safe and well looked after. The food was good and the chef visited my father every day to see what he would like for lunch and dinner. The manager is extremely good and spends a lot of time talking and listening to what the residents need.
My mother had a fall and it became apparent that she needed to be in a care home, a difficult decision to make but my mother has settled in really well. I am kept informed about everything, nothing is too much trouble and all the staff at the home are very friendly and caring not just to my mother but the family as well, the food is lovely too according to my mother!
My mum moved into the care home in May 24. She was very weak and frail and not interested in eating or drinking. Within two weeks of being at Robertsons, the staff had her up in a chair and sitting in the conservatory. Since then she has become stronger and now enjoying do all the activities they offer. She has joined the cooking club and gardening club. The staff are so kind and tentative and genuinely love their job and the care they give is outstanding. Mum is enjoying the food and looks forward to her meals where all the residents come together to eat. During the sunny warm days, I find mum sitting out in the garden under a huge tree offering shade and sometimes having an ice cream whilst listening to music from a local choir or musician. Moving my mum into a home was not what we wanted to do but I can honestly say that it has been the best decision as she seems so happy there and we all love going there and spending time with her in such a friendly environment.
My mother came to Robertson Nursing Home recently from hospital having had a serious fall. I knew from the moment I visited that Roberton had a warm and caring environment. The staff are very professional and compassionate and clearly work well as a team, taking pride in their work. From what I have seen so far the home is extremely well managed, spotlessly clean and the nurses and carers go the extra mile to make residents’ lives fulfilled. They take an individualised approach to care and work with family to understand residents’ needs. Communication is excellent. My mother is being very well cared for here and her physical condition is improving. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Robertson Nursing Home to others and I am very grateful for the wonderful care my mother is receiving.
My mother has been a resident of Robertson for over 5 years now, and I cannot fault the staff in any way. they have always been kind, caring, compassionate and efficient in all their dealings with her.
Mum initially started to use Robertson for respite. She was always happy to spend time with the lovely staff who always welcomed her back with a hug. The individual approach makes all the difference, whether it be choosing her own breakfast from the cook, going to the hairdresser, or being able to offer a cup of coffee to a visitor. More recently she has become a full-time resident and has been cared for exceptionally well, still with that individual approach to her needs. We didn't think Mum would see Christmas but she had a lovely day with staff and other service users and everyone had a present under the tree. She is now receiving the best care we could hope for and it is reassuring to know she is so well cared for. All the staff give the impression of dedication to providing the support my mum needs.
Today is the first anniversary of my mum’s passing. She was a resident of Robertsons for exactly one year from March 2022 to March 2023. As she needed nursing we had no alternative but to place her in a care home. However, from day 1 I know we made the right decision in choosing Robertsons for her. The staff were amazing and it truly was a home from home. At all times she was treated with respect and dignity but more than that there was a mutual fondness between Mum and all the staff. They made the last year of her long life as happy and comfortable as they could and our family were very grateful for that. The support we received in her final days and immediately afterwards made a painful time much easier. The building may not be the most modern and up-to-date but the personal care is phenomenal. Many thanks to all the wonderful staff, too many to mention or single out because they were all superstars.
There are truly not enough superlatives in the world to adequately describe the care that Robertson Nursing Home gave to my mum over the five years that she lived there. The quality of their provision, from the moment that she first arrived, to the time that she died just recently, was exceptional. The support that the staff gave to her was wonderful, and they showed the utmost respect, kindness, gentleness and good humour when looking after her. The staff knew my mum down to a T and used the highest level of skill to get the very best out of her at all times. Robertson's staff were also supportive of our wider family and were never too busy to reassure, advise and explain things to us. The end of her life care was beautifully managed too, thank you for this to the manager and the whole team. I know that Mum felt as if she was a special member of the Robertson "family" and there is surely no better recommendation for a care home than this.
The care and attention my mum received throughout her four years or so at Robertson's was incredible. The staff are fantastic, the care second to none. I would recommend Robertson's to everyone considering permanent care residence.
We visited my mum in Robertson Nursing Home on a very frequent basis for nearly seven years, and from the start, we were always warmly welcomed as important members of the wider Robertson family. From being quite miserable in her new surroundings in December 2016, Mum was soon very happy in what she came to love as 'her home' and became extremely fond of staff members - whether nursing, caring, admin or support. We have been impressed by the determination of each person to 'go the extra mile'. Whilst the attitude of the staff is most important, the recent 'smartening up' makeover throughout the home has made such a difference. Mum's 100th birthday at the end of November was celebrated in style, which we will remember so fondly. When Mum died exactly two weeks later, my family could not have asked for more kindness and support from the staff at such an emotional time. We cannot praise Robertson highly enough and we would commend anyone to entrust a loved one to their wonderful care.
I visited Robertson Nursing Home on Wednesday to catch up with the staff who looked after my mother and me during her time in their care. I arrived to find a musical event in the conservatory and was immediately invited to join in and have tea and cake. This is always the welcome I receive when I visit Robertson. During the past few months, a redecoration and update to the home have made a huge impact. As well as the permanent welcome from whoever opens the front door, a really bright, light and happy atmosphere pervades the home. I regularly call to see the staff and chat with the residents I have come to know during my visits. The many small kindnesses and personal attention each carer gives, without show or fuss, speaks volumes for the way the home operates. Robertson is a family to its residents and visitors and is a pleasure to visit. Thank you Robertson staff.
My mother (103 years and counting) came to Robertson Nursing Home on 20th July 2023 from her own home in East Sussex where she had 24/7 live-in care provided by a local care agency. So far, we couldn't be more happy with the care that Robertson has provided. We are now able to visit at will and have no issues to cause concern. Thank you to the manager and all the staff at Robertson.
