View Full Details of Cedar LodgeMy dad came here as a long term resident in August this year and I cannot fault Cedar Lodge in any way. I would give them 10 /5 if I could. Wonderful, caring, kind, considerate, gentle, very experienced staff; brain and body stimulating exercises every single day, lovely food in a superclean, high priority safety aware environment. My dad came here slumped forward in a wheelchair sleeping most of the day and after only 7 weeks with a free physio programme is walking around on a frame, chatting to everyone and joining in with everything on offer. I cannot fault this fantastic home; it's very family oriented and actually reminds me of a cruise ship for elderly people, their entertainment schedule is second to none !! A massive thankyou to Nenita the lovely manager and all her team for going above and beyond in changing my dad's whole life. I would thoroughly recommend it and the whole place should get "outstanding" I have no idea what extra they could do to improve comfort !
Mum has been a resident of Cedar Lodge for three years and we are so lucky to have found such a warm, caring and very professionally run home for her. After respite periods in another couple of homes in the area, we quickly realised the extent to which the team at Cedar Lodge goes above and beyond in the care they provide. Staff are always friendly, responsive, on top of mum's current needs and medical appointments and importantly she has developped close bonds with many of them. The addition of the coffee shop area has been wonderful, allowing residents to receive multiple visitors in a welcoming environment and for the Lodge to host more events with family and friends. They are to be commended for coming up with new and varied activities, mum particularly enjoyed being able to have her wedding dress on display recently! We are so grateful to all of the team who work tirelessly but in good humour to the benefit of mum's health, well-being and our own peace of mind.
My dear wife was admitted 2.5 years ago with Parkinson's and Dementia. The quality of care has been excellent. Without exception all the staff are wonderful and they are deeply committed to what they do because it comes from the heart and there is a real sense of community amongst them. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they are always proactive in attending to my wife's needs. My wife is now at final stage Parkinson's and is undergoing palliative care. All the staff have undergone specialist training in palliative care. Cedar Lodge is without doubt exceptional for what they do and I cannot thank them enough.
We were very lucky to find Cedar Lodge. My father was with them for a year during which all the carers and wider staff treated him with immense kindness, compassion and care. The nursing team were brilliant - they were highly accessible and offered frequent feedback without needing to be asked. Dad had access to a wide variety of activities and I enjoyed joining him for singers and visiting birds of prey etc. The activities team worked so hard! When dad was no longer able to leave his bed they would come to his room to read to him & look at his photobooks. I am very grateful for the care he received from everyone, when dad passed away it was clear that Cedar Lodge is like one big family.
From the bottom of my heart, I say thank you to all the staff for their help & kindness. This is a place I will come back to in the future. Thank you so so much.
Since coming to Cedar Lodge both my health and wellbeing have improved, the staff are caring and respectful, and very friendly. My eldest son, who is a doctor in USA believes I wouldn't be alive today if I hadn't come to Cedar Lodge.
Two years ago, my wife aide an unplanned visit to Cedar Lodge as my mother's then care home was falling short of our expectations and Mum needed more care. My wife was so impressed. On visiting, so was I, and Mum moved in. The staff know residents and visitors by name, and know about residents welfare and condition like they were family. In fact, Cedar Lodge is like a big family home. The staff - all of them - really care and go the extra mile for the residents, and looked after us when my mum was declining and passed away.
I find Cedar Lodge to be a bright, happy caring home where the staff give love & perfection to all the residents & everyone is called by the Christian names which makes it all so friendly. Special attention is given to the residents well being and special activities are arranged most weeks a nice pub lunch and lovely barbicue recently took advantage of the good weather, we all had a lovely time. Also a party was arranged for Mothers Day with tea & cakes. Everyones tastes are considered and surprising keep fit is very popular and they are good at it too. Also arts & crafts are enjoyed. The staff join in everything which encourages the elderly. The food is good and to most people taste The home is very well run and the levels of staff are easily identified by their smart uniforms The home is immucutly clean & bright And many of us are looking forward to sitting in the garden enjoying the summer flowers
My first impression of Cedar Lodge was how happy, friendly and welcoming is everyone. The staff are always helpful and take great care of the resident, and are happy to answer any queries. Frequent events are laid on, often musical entertainment, and sometimes visits from animals, such as rabbits, and once small birds of prey. A large friendly dog is a frequent visitor. Birthdays are always celebrated with delicious cakes. The dining area is well laid out, almost like a hotel. I am very satisfied with the good care my husband is receiving.
In the end Dad's residency at Cedar Lodge was just under 9 months. The home was clean & the staff friendly & helpful. Dad had always wanted to attend his church on a Sunday and to begin with this was made possible but as Dad's needs increased this became impossible. The home cared for his medical & nutrition needs, although we did have issues with the food which seemed to be addressed by the management. My only concern was the number of bed sores he developed which were managed after they had occured rather than preventing them happening.
Would like to say a big thank you to one staff member in particular and team for a great pub night, thoroughly enjoyed it so did my brother. All the staff at cedar lodge are amazing. Would recommend Cedar Lodge to anybody looking for a Care home.
I visit a friend every week. The staff are very attentive. The residents all look happy. I know my friend believes she is in a hotel. She tells me the food is excellent.
My father was a resident in Cedar Lodge for 2 and a half years. He had developed dementia so was no longer able to look after himself at home. Cedar Lodge staff were consistently excellent in their level of both medical and social care. Also of note, any visitors my father had were always complimentary of the high standard of the environment, buildings and surroundings. I would recommend Cedar Lodge to any one looking for a care home package.
So pleased my brother-in-law is now a resident of Cedar Lodge. He has really settled in well. He is a changed person. The staff are very good with him.
I booked for my husband while taking a break from taking care of him. 2 weeks before travel, my husband became very unwell, the manager at Cedar Lodge kidly agreed to admit my husband 2 weeks early before the due date. All staff at Cedar Lodge took great care of my husband. During my visit and other members of the family visits, staff always welcome you with smiling faces. Very pleasant and clean place to stay.
Mum came to Cedar Lodge from another care home in Surrey when after a series of falls they could no longer meet her care needs. She has been in Cedar for just over a year now during which time she has had some periods of very ill health. We have no doubt the level of care and compassion they provide is the reason she is with us today. Her quality of life is far better - varied and stimulating and she is very happy to call it "home". It gives our family great comfort knowing they are providing the best care she needs at this time of her life. We highly recommend Cedar Lodge.
Mum is needing more care as she gets on and Cedar Lodge staff are totally responsive and universally kind to her. I could not give my Mum anywhere near as much care as Cedar Lodge does.
My mum has been a resident at Cedar Lodge for just over a year and is approaching her 101st birthday. She is very settled and is looked after very well. The staff are so caring and nothing is too much trouble. We visited many homes prior to choosing Cedar Lodge and definitely think we made the best choice. There's always so much variety in terms of activities and a lovely atmosphere.
My friend had been in Cedar Lodge for four years right up to her passing away in August. As time went on she became bed-bound but the staff especially one in particular still managed to include her in outside visitors and entertainment. She had so much care and support from all the staff, everyone was so friendly and approachable and was always there to discuss all aspects. When she passed away she was treated with so much dignity and compassion.
Cedar Lodge is a wonderful environment for everyone who stays or visits here. All the staff are amazing and clearly enjoy what they do, caring for the residents. It's always a pleasure to visit.
