View Full Details of The Riverside Nursing HomeWhen my Mum was admitted to Riverside she had been given just a few days, two weeks at the most to live. The family wanted Mum to be somewhere comfortable and more homely. Within a week her condition had improved massively. She was soon better than she had been in months. As time has gone on she has got even better. She is now feeding herself and has not become severely dehydrated once, something that was happening regularly at home, despite having carers visit 4 times a day. The care she gets is exemplary and the staff are all very kind and caring towards her. I visit regularly and always made welcome. Mum has been here for a month now and is definitely benefitting enormously from the 24 hour care she receives. I can recommend Riverside for your relatives and friends.
Riverside is an amazing nursing home. All the staff are professional and compassionate. They go above and beyond to help the residents in whatever way they can. I cannot express enough how grateful I am to the staff on looking after my grandfather. They are truly amazing.
An absolutely lovely set of staff, very caring recommended to anyone that needs a care home. Never an issue with anyone and when i need some thing they are more than happy to help my dad. If a family member has a pet like my dad I can bring him in to see him.
My Mum has been a resident of Riverside for 3 years is very settled & happy, even with dementia. She is well looked after & the Manager & staff treat her well. They encourage her to join in & try different activities & she loves the parties. They are attentative & respectful giving the family regular updates on Mums health , wellbeing, weight, appetite, sleep etc. The manager, Owners & staff are very approachable & have become a massive part of Mums world(& ours) & we are forever grateful for the care that my Mum receives from this lovely family owned Nursing Home & would definately recommend it. I have taken a star off the rating for 'facilities' as there is no easy access to the outdoor space at the rear, although it's easy to sit out at the front entrance. Re the food, there's always room for improvement wherever you go & that is the only reason I haven't given 5 stars. Mum eats every single meal she is given so I have no concerns at all that she doesn't like the food she receives.
I come and visit my nan and she is always clean and always has something to drink on her table and the actual nursing home is really clean and the staff are lovely towards her and you can tell they care about there jobs and have alot of patience.
The carers look after my dad very well with compassion in difficult circumstances. There seems to be plenty of events put on for the more active residents and the families are regularly updated. The rooms are large, the food seems better than a lot of the other homes and it always seems very well cleaned.
I find that the Riverside staff are very helpful and friendly to all residents and visitors. The food seems to be of good quality and there's always good portions.Staff seem to try and keep residents active and entertained, especially with the musical weekends. The rooms are light and airey and kept clean. All in all mum seems to enjoy being in the home, and along as she's happy that's the main thing!
I have always found the staff and care manager, friendly approachable especially if you need to discuss anything regarding the resident. A lot of new ideas are being implemented which I have found them very encouraging.
My mother-in-law has been moved here. She wasn't to keen on the idea at first but now she really likes being here. The safe can't do enough for her. It's always really clean and the staff can't do enough for her.
My Auntie who lived alone age 94yrs was addmited to Riverside in Dec 2024 when she became unwell & didnt want to go in Hospital but needed 24hr Care. She is very well cared for at Riverside she found it a big change and it took time for her to adjust but with support she is now more settled . The Staff across the board are lovely and nothing is to much trouble. There is always a choice at mealtimes & drinks on tap hot & cold what ever she wants. I am informed & updated about her care by the Manager they also have a WhatsApp Family Group keeping families upto date about Social Events which is a great idea.I feel happy & reasured knowing my Auntie has round the clock care. Thanks to all the Staff.
I would like to give Riverside Nursing Home a big thumbs up. My aunt has recently moved here. The staff are always so polite and caring and can't do enough for you. My auntie is well cared for, always looks so clean and comfortable, they can't do enough for her. The owner and manager are always onsite during the day and keep relative updated on aspects. The have a messaging group for general conversation and events that are up and coming. Riverside keep up your excellent work!
When we found ourselves in the unbearable position of needing end-of-life care for Mum, the staff at Riverside Nursing Home were everything we could wish for. They were compassionate and caring, they kept Mum comfortable and warm and free from pain. She passed away peacefully and with dignity.
My mum recently moved to Riverside from another care home. The care and support provided by Riverside is a massive improvement on the other home and mum is responding to being cared for better. From being completely withdrawn, and although still quiet, mum is talking and engaging more. From what I have seen the main factor is that the carers are actually into what they are doing. They take a great interest in each person living here, respecting each person as an individual, and getting to know them as individuals, and their individual likes/dislikes and preferences. This personalised "culture" has no doubt emanated from the provider's management which supports and encourages carers to take ownership of their work and to care about it and the people they are caring for. My brother and I are very happy that mum is now living here. Thank you to the Manager and each and every member of the Riverside Team.
