View full details of SilverdaleMy grandmother lives in Silverdale, before she moved in she was ad and alone. Since moving in she has made friends and eating well, she is much happier, she is now smiling. A great thank you to the staff for giving me a happy life. In her later years.
I really like that all the staff are very caring towards the residents within the home and equally friendly to visitors. Silverdale is kept spotlessly clean, and residents always have a smile on their faces. Which is a testament to how happy they are and how well they are cared for. My aunt is very happy there.
My sister went into Silverdale about 9 months ago. She was very timid, scared and extremely frail, but since she has been here, she has thrived, she's a lot more confident, and has improved her well being and put weight on. This is very important to me and my sisters as she feels safe and secure, and she certainly feels like it's a home, and there are lots of activities to keep her active and happy. She loves it here.
Lovely homely atmosphere, all carers very helpful and make everyone feel welcome. My auntie loves it here.
I feel the staff always seem really jolly and happy and enjoy their work and feel Elaine is well cared for and thought of there. She seems like it's home from home.
My mum from hospital was diagnosed as needing to be in full time care. I fought for her to be given a place at Silverdale. Eventually, with a top up agreed, we were given a room. It is the best news we had, so happy the staff are truly amazing, from all departments and run superbly, which reflects in all my tick/x's. There is nothing too much trouble, and my mum is safe and well cared for, which is fantastic.
Since my friend became a resident she has always received exellent care and kindness. For over six years now, I have been so grateful for all the help and support given to my friend, as well as the patience and care shown to me. I shall be forever grateful to the staff at Silverdale. I know my friend is saf and secure and that gives me so much peace of mind. Thank you.
The caring is to a high standard.
When visiting my friend there was a lovely afternoon singer on. All staff and residents were up dancing and singing, it was a lovely thing to see. My friend always tells me how lovely and helpful all the staff are and this is seen by myself each time I visit. I am greeted at the door and the atmosphere is always so jolly, homely and welcoming.
My mum had a bad fall just a week after she moved into Silverdale, the staff were brilliant looking after her until the ambulance arrived some hours later. She's very happy there, all the staff are great with all the residents, they look after them so well with lots of care.
One of the hardest emotional parts of my life was accepting that my mother had to move to a care home due to her dementia. At the beginning of her time there, it was wonderful to see her making friends and causing mischief for the staff by going into the manager's office and stealing their sweets. Over the months my mother's condition declined to the point where she lives in her own world not really knowing anyone of her children. It's got to the point where the weekly visits turned into every couple of months, but I know she is being looked after at Silverdale. I have no doubts that they can look after her better than I could have done. It's still hard to visit her and not see the person she was, but she is a happy old woman amongst people who can take care of her very well.
Whenever I visit my mum, she is always dressed neatly and seated together with others in the day room for company, which is beneficial for her. Although she is not very mobile and seated most of the day, the staff continue to get her to walk a little whenever possible, which is good for her well-being. Her room and the general environment of the care home are always clean and tidy. The atmosphere and background music are also pleasant. She has just had a birthday, and banners had been put up in her room, which was nice. Whenever I call to see how she is, the staff are courteous and helpful. I get updates regarding any health issues and details of activities Mum has joined in with, as well as trips outdoors. It is such a relief to know she is being well cared for.
For several years, my mother has lived in a few care homes. It has been such a stressful time as her needs have been somewhat demanding. For the last couple of years, Mum has been at Silverdale, and from the first day, her care there has been exceptional. Everyone is so supportive, understanding and considerate towards Mum. Whenever I visit, there is always a carer available to update me about Mum’s care. There is always a friendly, warm, welcome, plus Mum’s room is always spotless. We can relax in the knowledge that Mum is well cared for and feels at home in her own special way.
My mother has been a resident at Silverdale since September 2020, and I have been very impressed with the care given to her since then. I am sure that my mother is as happy as she can be given her illness and that every member of staff is dedicated to helping all the residents. She likes all the food (and cakes) and is never more happy than when singing and dancing to the entertainment put on by the friendly staff. I would definitely recommend Silverdale to anybody in a similar situation.
My partner always has a smile on her face when I visit. The care staff all seem to know who I am and say hello. There was an unexpected incident with another resident, and I was kept fully informed, and this was resolved to my satisfaction. Generally, I am very happy with the care my partner is receiving. Thanks to all the care staff at Silverdale.
Placing Dad into care was the hardest choice ever. He’s been at Silverdale for nearly four years now, and we couldn’t have made a better choice. The ethos of the home is simple - the residents come first. The staff are brilliant, and the care given is top class.
Mum seems really happy and safe at the home. Staff are always visible when I visit. If I ever need to ask something, there is always someone available to talk. I feel more than happy with the care Mum receives.
It's a beautiful, clean, smell-free home for my mum with friendly, dedicated and caring staff. My mum is always happy when I see her. The staff go above and beyond at any kind of event with bunting and party atmosphere and even fine dining for such events, i.e. the King's Coronation, Christmas and Easter.
When my father first moved to Silverdale for his dementia, I think he struggled to be in a new environment as he seemed to sleep little during the night and would often be tired during visits. But now he has settled in very well and is often in high spirits when I see him. I really like the staff here; every single person I've spoken to has been super friendly and always happy to help.
Having had a horrendous experience at a different care home with another family member, we were quite anxious when our dad was offered a place at Silverdale 18 months ago due to worsening Alzheimer's. Well, the experience couldn't be any more different. From the first day, Dad was treated with respect, dignity and understanding. The staff, from the management down to the cleaning staff, are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The rooms and social areas are bright, cheerful and homely. There are rooms where you can always hear laughter and music, but also places of calm and quiet. Unfortunately, Dad has recently been diagnosed with Cancer and has had some difficulties, but the staff have been very supportive. We really didn't want to put Dad into a care home, but we are so grateful that he is very happy there. It has taken a weight off our shoulders, knowing that for the last part of his life, he is in a place where he is cared for whilst letting him be himself. Highly Recommended.
