View Full Details of Belvoir ValeI cannot thank you ALL enough for the kindness and care you have shown Dad. He has truly flourished since being with you. I will never forget how wonderful you all have been and neither will Dad. You've brought him back to life, he's not been this happy in years. THANK YOU.
My husband had six weeks respite care in Belvoir Vale after a stay in hospital. He was extremely well looked after. There were always several members of staff around and they were always cheerful, attentive and willing to help. He as very well fed and gained much needed weight. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Belvoir Vale.
I wish mum could stay with you but we have run out of money. I cannot fault the service the staff and management give to my mother. They are amazing! Only one small problem is she has lost her top set of teeth whilst a resident and now her hearing aid. Care, food, cleaning all fantastic. Mum could have been encouraged to do more activities, that is the only thing of note. Following a stroke her legs could have done with a little exercise.
Since arriving at Belvoir Vale the care Dad has received has been consistently high, the caring staff have shown kindness, respect and dignity towards Dad whilst settling in which is greatly appreciated. Although the quality of food products (in particular meat and fish) are sometimes below standard which seems is maybe down to your chosen suppliers resulting in a challenge for any good cook! I know that the female chefs go out of their way to ask Dad daily for his preferences to then make and serve meals they know he'll enjoy. The activities are regular and varied. I hope there may be options for residents that have the capacity to maybe be taken out for a pub lunch or quiz in a more sociable 'non care home' setting. We were so grateful that the bus driver and activities team went above and beyond to help arrange a trip for Dad to go to the races. I found it difficult to rate the management category as I have not yet had the opportunity to meet the Manager of the home.
Mum has settled well over the time she's been here. We like the staff very much indeed. They are helpful, kind and friendly. She would like better food and larger portions.
Good management, very well run. Staff work very hard and are very kind to the residents. Good atmosphere among residents, warm and friendly. Parking is a problem. Clean liners excellent and laundry very efficient.
My Mum passed away recently following many years at Belvoir Vale where my father had also been a resident some time before. The Care is excellent and the staff have much empathy and compassion for the residents. There is very much a Team environment and good communication. The Home is not standing still as it is always looking at improving systems, listening to relatives and residents. This is clearly seen within the Activities programme. Thank you for making my Mum's last few years enjoyable and comfortable. This was her home.
My Mum spent five happy years at Belvoir Vale where she thrived. After a couple of respite visits she took the decision to move to the home permanently. Mum quickly made new friends and thoroughly enjoyed all the amazing activities that the home offered. She had dementia but with the move to Belvoir Vale she was able to relax and she no longer had to worry about the pressures of daily life. Belvoir Vale is extremely well led and all staff go above and beyond in everything they do. They work brilliantly as a team and are highly valued which is clearly reflected in their happiness at work. The standard of care is outstanding and staff all have a great knowledge and understanding of the residents. Everyone is treated as a family member and with compassion and dignity. The rooms are gorgeous and furnished to a high standard. The food is freshly prepared and the residents are given plenty of choice. The home is in a great location set in well maintained beautiful grounds.
Mum was at Belvoir Vale Care home for a couple of years. We can't fault them, staff always amazing, kind & considerate. Lots of activities for her to join, mini bus to take residents out. The room was always clean. Very pleasant environment. Very inclusive for friends and family with regular meetings to discuss concerns & changes. We'll miss not going into see everyone. Thank you again
Mum has only been in the home for two weeks but she's loving it, likes being pampered, likes her room, bed, food, everything really.
Mum is battling Alzheimer's and has been for over 5 years. We've just had her first respite (one week) at BV's dementia unit. I visited many homes before making a decision including large brand new businesses. BV is highly resident-focused, caring, kind, and clean. Mum has put weight on and enjoyed 3 cooked meals/day plus copious drinks and biscuits! She's come home much more mentally alert and is also cheerful - an improvement from pre-respite. Thank you to every staff member who helped us from day one (The two men from Maintenance -moving room furniture around for safety) and to one staff member in particular for helping with baggage on leaving. BV's care staff showed only patience and dedication. A couple of issues I highlighted were dealt with promptly and in full.
Right from day one everything was all we could have wished for. Nothing was too much trouble and we were kept informed with everything that was happening. All the staff without exception seemed to be focused on one thing, the welfare and comfort of the resident and for that we can't thank them enough, knowing Dad was getting all the area and attention he needed meant so much. His older brother actually said we always had a fear of care homes but now we have seen this place that fear has gone. Dad was only in for just under 3 weeks but in that time all we can say is thank you for your amazing work in making him comfortable to the end.
I am continually impressed by the kindness and care of all staff members, from maintenance, laundry, kitchen, to personal carers, senior nurses and admin. Nothing is too much trouble, residents and family are always welcome at whatever time. Thank you.
Mum resides in Gatehouse, which suits her level of dementia. The staff are wonderful and caring; they look after Mum very well. When I have raised queries or issues, they have been dealt with efficiently and professionally, to my satisfaction.
My father has only been here for one week, but in this time, he has enjoyed and settled down to his new life. He thinks he's in a hotel. The food is not bad - missing my food, he tells me! Loves the view from his window (the garden), but, still early days. Thank you for having him; he's a kind, sweet man and will not bother the staff in any way.
Pleasant atmosphere. Very good food and cleanliness. Helpful, cheerful staff.
My aunt has been a resident at the Belvoir Vale care home for two years. During that time she has received excellent care and attention. The staff are simply superb and care about every individual in the home. The organisation and professionalism of the management is exceptional, particularly communication and meeting the needs of family members visiting the home. We cannot praise the home highly enough. My aunt hopes to spend many years in the home and we will continue to enjoy visiting her.
My mother moved to Belvoir Vale Care Home four weeks ago. Initially she was very anxious and needy, but by the fourth week she was more calm and settled. The staff had got to know her and found that she needed to be distracted and occupied, especially with music. This has been very comforting for me knowing that she is in good hands. I ham sure my mother is living at the right place for her needs and managing the dementia.
We could not fault the staff. Everyone was considerate, careful and always keen to treat Mum as an individual and accommodate her wishes. We were saddened, therefore, to have to make the decision to move Mum to another care home that is more accessible for her friends and former neighbour to visit, especially those reliant on public transport. We would not hesitate to recommend Belvoir Vale to other families. Thank you for everything.
My mum moved into Belvoir Vale in November 2021 and passed away there in February 2023. I am so, so pleased I found this care home for her to live in. It is a homely and comfortable place, with nice rooms and a garden and wood nearby. The staff were very attentive, caring and helpful and Mum and I enjoyed the time there, and going out together to nearby cafés. Care was always good, and in the heatwave of summer 2022, the staff did everything they could to enable residents to stay cool and hydrated. The needs of individuals were put first, and care included outings, games, exercise, entertainment and religious input for those who wished this. I would also like to commend the staff's support of relatives like myself, who are coming to terms with the loss of their loved one to dementia, as well as their ultimate death. Support and information were given, arrangements were made to see the home's GP and intelligent input was given over end-of-life care decisions.
