Where to start?
Everything about this wonderful community is amazing!
It has the feel of a boutique hotel with service to match.
Every single person who works there goes above and beyond to be kind and helpful.
The managers are very "hands on" and know all the residents needs. They are very efficient
effective.
Everyone smiles all the time - residents included! Established residents are very kind and welcoming to newcomers.
The hairdresser, chiropodist and beautician are wonderful for people who can't get out.
There are a variety of excellent activities on offer and outings too.
My mum is here now for respite care but I would move in tomorrow!!!!

My Dad has been a resident here for just over 16 months and during this time the care, kindness of staff and the support he receives daily has been consistently high. All staff are so friendly, patient and respectful and I know Dad feels settled, safe and extremely well cared for. Since arriving at
Belvoir Vale I have seen such a positive change in his physical and mental wellbeing as he can be himself and is able to be as independent as he can be, getting out and about with family and on trips he chooses to with the lifestyle team. The home is also a lovely place to visit for relatives and friends, always a friendly welcome and really tastefully decorated - not anything like you imagine a care home to be. The management are extremely approachable and proactive with an open door policy.

Belvoir Vale have been caring for our mother since June this year. After losing our Dad life at home alone was proving difficult and lonely for her. Initially she went to Belvoir Vale for a 2 week respite stay, she extended her visit initially and has decided to stay rather than go back to living alone.
Our mother has a some complex needs and the home have been flexible, caring and communicative with regards to these. I am assured that they put our mother's care at the forefront of their thinking and do their very best to meet her needs. My mother has a great relationship with all of the staff and is very complimentary about everyone she comes in to contact with.
She would like the food to be a little better but I understand the home are addressing this.
As a family we are very grateful to Belvoir Vale for everything they are doing for our mother and for us.
Reply from Julie Boylan, Home Manager at Belvoir ValeThank you so much for taking the time to leave us a great review, we appreciate your kind words and will pass this on to our team. As for the food, all new cooks are on board and residents will be supporting with menu choices going forward. Thank you.

Following a brief stay in hospital, my mother came to Belvoir Vale initially for a week's respite care. After 4 days she loved it so much she decided to stay. She feels secure & is supported day and night. All the staff at B.V. are warm & welcoming, caring & considerate & very respectful - also hard
working. The food has greatly improved since the Head Chef has taken up post but can be variable when he is not on duty. The activities team are returning to full strength & the activities offered are varied & stimulating. The availability of a modern and reliable mini-bus (rather than the current ancient one) for outside visits in a necessity for the mental well-being of the residents who wish to use it. Thank you

As a family of a resident who has lived at the home for a year now, my wife and I are very happy with the way he settled. There is a large staff team who each offer the care and attention needed. The food has not always been up to scratch but with newly appointed chefs is much improved. Sadly, now there
are repairs needed to the mini bus and the "Life Style Team" is depleted due to people leaving their posts. It is to be hoped that they will be replaced soon and a fuller program resume. My father is always clean and well presented. We believe he likes his new home.

We are pleased to say that we now have a full Lifestyle team, so regular activities will continue. Also, our minibus has been fully repaired, allowing us to go out on day trips. As always, my door is open if you have any concerns, feel free to pop in next time you visit.

I wish mum could stay with you but we have run out of money. I cannot fault the service the staff and management give to my mother. They are amazing! Only one small problem is she has lost her top set of teeth whilst a resident and now her hearing aid. Care, food, cleaning all fantastic. Mum could have
been encouraged to do more activities, that is the only thing of note. Following a stroke her legs could have done with a little exercise.

My Mum passed away recently following many years at Belvoir Vale where my father had also been a resident some time before. The Care is excellent and the staff have much empathy and compassion for the residents. There is very much a Team environment and good communication.
The Home is not standing still
as it is always looking at improving systems, listening to relatives and residents. This is clearly seen within the Activities programme.
Thank you for making my Mum's last few years enjoyable and comfortable. This was her home.

My Mum spent five happy years at Belvoir Vale where she thrived. After a couple of respite visits she took the decision to move to the home permanently. Mum quickly made new friends and thoroughly enjoyed all the amazing activities that the home offered. She had dementia but with the move to Belvoir
Vale she was able to relax and she no longer had to worry about the pressures of daily life. Belvoir Vale is extremely well led and all staff go above and beyond in everything they do. They work brilliantly as a team and are highly valued which is clearly reflected in their happiness at work. The standard of care is outstanding and staff all have a great knowledge and understanding of the residents. Everyone is treated as a family member and with compassion and dignity. The rooms are gorgeous and furnished to a high standard. The food is freshly prepared and the residents are given plenty of choice. The home is in a great location set in well maintained beautiful grounds.

Mum is battling Alzheimer's and has been for over 5 years. We've just had her first respite (one week) at BV's dementia unit. I visited many homes before making a decision including large brand new businesses. BV is highly resident-focused, caring, kind, and clean. Mum has put weight on and enjoyed
3 cooked meals/day plus copious drinks and biscuits! She's come home much more mentally alert and is also cheerful - an improvement from pre-respite. Thank you to every staff member who helped us from day one (The two men from Maintenance -moving room furniture around for safety) and to one staff member in particular for helping with baggage on leaving. BV's care staff showed only patience and dedication. A couple of issues I highlighted were dealt with promptly and in full.

Right from day one everything was all we could have wished for.
Nothing was too much trouble and we were kept informed with everything that was happening. All the staff without exception seemed to be focused on one thing, the welfare and comfort of the resident and for that we can't thank them enough,
knowing Dad was getting all the area and attention he needed meant so much. His older brother actually said we always had a fear of care homes but now we have seen this place that fear has gone. Dad was only in for just under 3 weeks but in that time all we can say is thank you for your amazing work in making him comfortable to the end.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.613)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.613) out of 10 for Belvoir Vale is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 17 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 17 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.688 for Belvoir Vale is calculated as follows: ( (149 Excellents x 5) + (44 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 202 Ratings = 4.688
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.925 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Belvoir Vale is based on 17 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.925
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 62 registered maximum number of service users is 12.4, which has been reached with 17 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
