Belvoir Vale is situated in Widmerpool, just off the A46 and is registered to provide residential and dementia residential care for up to 62 residents.

The home is designed as a care village incorporating three care homes in grounds of over two acres. The purpose built care homes are ground floor, with all bedrooms having en-suite facilities.

Belvoir Vale has a number of comfortable seating areas, dining rooms, a hair dressing salon and beautiful landscaped gardens. Rutland House is a dementia specialist wing and has a 'memory café', sweet shop and garden room, for residents and visitors to enjoy.

Belvoir Vale has an array of personalised and social activities for residents to participate in, along with good food, companionship and offering residents choice every step of the way.

My mother has been a resident for 14 years. She has been treated with care and kindness throughout this time. Her deterioration has been managed very professionally and her increasing needs are always met.
She cannot move or speak but is always treated with gentleness and smiles and her bodily needs
are met unfailingly.

My mother has received fantastic care and attention while she was at Belvoir Vale at one of the most difficult times in her 93 years. There was never a problem, nothing was too much trouble and as a family we were looked after so well especially when Mum was so ill. all the staff were so caring in those
six weeks that Mum was in the home. Without this care Mum would not be back in her home now. We cannot thank them enough.

I came to Belvoir Vale on discharge from hospital, for "convalescent" care, before returning home. On arrival, I was shown to my very pleasant room, offered a drink, shown all the facilities and the care assistant care buzzer. During my stay, I have been very impressed with the standard of care, food,
cleanliness and overall service.
The care assistants are superb, kind and helpful. I feel confident now that I will be able to cope independently at home. The food was nourishing, tasty and well presented. Thank you to every single person involved.

We chose Belvoir Vale where mum stood the best chance of being happy, and for the six years of her stay, we never thought otherwise. I like that the staff cared for not only mum, but her family too, in the way they interacted with us. Nothing was too much trouble for them - professional and caring.
The end of life care was especially good. Mum always said the staff, all staff, should get a big pay rise! And I agree.

My mother began the final part of her dementia journey at 'Belvoir Vale Care Home' on the 3rd December 2013. Sadly, mother passed away on Sunday 19th June 2016 peacefully and suffering no pain. Throughout the two and a half years of her stay, she has received the most wonderful care from the Management
and staff there. She mentioned her dignity throughout and was given the utmost respect at all times. My brother and I will be indebted to 'Belvoir Vale Care Home' for the rest of our lives. Thank you all.

My sister had to move from hospital to a care home somewhat quickly and a friend suggested Belvoir Vale. My wife and I have no regrets about that decision. The home was purpose built, is functional and practical and has recently been updated. The key to the home is the staff who are patient and caring.
As my sister succumbed to Dementia so the staff spent time dressing her and feeding her by hand. Although she became ill with cancer the staff continued caringly looking after her until she died at the home. Altogether she was a resident there for seven and a half years.

My dad has been a resident at Belvoir Vale for over 18 months. He has complex care needs and can be quite a challenge at times. The staff at Belvoir Vale have supported not only my dad but the whole family through this difficult period. My dads care has been exemplary and I can not fault it at any point
during his time at this care home. He has now needed to move to a nursing home as his needs have increased and I miss visiting Belvoir Vale enormously. I would thoroughly recommend this care home on the experience I have had there.

Greatly relieved the home could take my parents at short notice. Always greeted by smiling, friendly staff who appear to enjoy their work. The staff call the doctor(GP) when necessary. We understand there will be an increase on fees from April, but have not personally been informed of this, we have
power of attorney.

We are pleased to see the number of agency staff has reduced as this provides continuity of care and promotes trust between staff and residents who struggle to remember names and faces. The staff are caring and treat mum with respect. The trips our are a welcome distraction though not easy to manage.
Perhaps more could be made of the day rooms and the garden could made more accessible in the warmer months. The safety in the park has been improved by erecting a gate and fence which is a positive move.

I have nothing but praise for this home. It is a 'home' not an institution. the staff are all caring, helpful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble and always a great support to both my sister and myself, not just the carers all the staff, cleaners, office staff and not to be forgotten the activities
manager and workmen, ably led by the manager, who is always available. The buildings are well kept and comfortable giving a homely atmosphere and the gardens are delightful. I cannot recommend this home more highly.

I had a brother in Belvoir Vale for ten years and a sister twice in for 1 year and then 2 years, and my husband (who was terminally ill) for 2 weeks, all now deceased. I found the staff very caring in all ways, even beyond the calling of duty. Not only caring for patients but their relatives and well
which I found most comforting.
