View Full Details of Gorton Parks Care HomeI have found the care home very welcoming. The staff are excellent and always make you feel welcome. The communication I have found to be very good, they look after my mum very well. I have no serious concerns with the home and I feel that my mum is happy.
Friendly staff, very clean, nice surroundings. Very helpful staff.
Gorton parks Care home. This company only cares about money and not resident's care. We were fortunate enough to move my mother-in-law to a much better care facility so can compare what advinia healthcare offer and the care from the new company, moving homes was the best move I made for her. They ignored my recorded delivery letters and also emails, so you will never get a resolution from them and may need to use the government bodies as I have had to do to resolve your issues. If you want your loved ones to feel safe valued and respected go somewhere else. Look at the CQC report on this home, I wish I had taken more notice of the comments and gone to the home she is now in. COULD NOT CARE LESS is only way care comes into it with this company and Gorton Parks Care Home as this was the home we used, the profile online looks so good but the reality is somewhat different.
Its a pleasure to give a review for Gorton Parks Care Home. Mum has been at the home since February 2024. We are so very grateful to all the staff for the wonderful care, compassion and dignity they give to Mum. Inspite of her dementia she has flourished at the home, we can see she is happy, settled and has made friendships with other residents and the carers. As a Health Professional myself I would highly reccommend Gorton Parks Care Home, they have supported us all as a family and we would not want Mum to be anywhere else. A huge ' Thank-You' to each and everyone one of you, you are all amazing!
We are pleased with my mum's care. The carers are friendly and always show care and concern towards our mum on times when we've visited. I've had to mention a few things when concerned e.g occasions when she's been thirsty, cold (needed a blanket, or didn't have socks on). Also, the crash mat had been taken from against the wall next to her bed to stop her hitting her head on the wall. Fortunately, I was visiting to see this.
The staff are very friendly and always chat to me when I visit my Brother, his room has everything he needs I get calls and updates on anything concerning my Brother.
Gorton Parks has not only cared for my ailing dad but every carer we have encountered has cared for me and my family as well. This isn't just a professional establishment, it is personal as the staff care personally for the residents in their care. The respect and attention they show is second to none and as a family member, I feel safe knowing my dad resides here. Thank you everyone.
Clean, safe and welcoming. The staff are very attentive and caring.
I find the staff very helpful and willing to do anything you ask of them.
All the staff (day) are great with my mum. She does not really like food. She is always made comfortable in bed as she stays in bed watching her programs. All the care and staff are great and my mum seems happy.
My dad was a resident from August until December. Although the home itself is a little tired in places, the care received was exemplary. Dad always looked clean and cared for. He was checked on regularly and when he got ill, the staff ensured he got the care he needed by ringing for an ambulance in a timely manner. We were able to decorate his room with photos and other personal items and he could even have his own reclining chair. Unfortunately, he did not recover from his last illness. The staff were so compassionate when family members visited to collect his belongings. I would highly recommend it.
I would like to say a big thank you to the amazing staff. They go above and beyond. I feel happy knowing my mother is in a happy place. She is always smiling. The staff deserve an award for the amazing job they do or reward and recognition. My mother has been in Gorton Park since February.
Gorton Parks is an amazing place. I've had a few teething problems but quickly realised that it's because they are understaffed! If you are willing to help out with your relative or in any other way, it's a massive help to the staff. They are all so busy being angels to our family members. I for one am extremely grateful to all of the staff. Thank you very much.
My mum has been a resident on Mellands Unit, Gorton Parks since February 2022. The experience has been very poor. She has been left in wet, soggy and bulky nappies for hours each day. Sometimes she is sore and I have to treat her. My mum is washed with a dry wipe and running water because the shower near her room has been broken since July 2022. I cooked my mum Caribbean food and asked the staff to give it to her, the staff either ate it or threw it away and they gave me the empty cartons. No stimulating activities. I find my mum in bed most days because the staff do not engage with her. I have been shouted at and humiliated by three members of staff. I have found medication on the floor. I am not informed by phone when my mum is upset and wandering around the home.
My wife had a fall and was taken to hospital where she was diagnosed with a fractured hip, from there she was fortunate enough to be sent to Gorton Parks Care Home and she went into Delamere for physio and general care. The room was clean and very bright, everyone who works there were friendly chatty and very helpful, the care was excellent and because she was in a non medical section she was allowed visits from her sisters wee dog Millie who we have been looking after since her sister had a fall in July, it brightened her up and the staff seemed to like her. If you get the offer to go there don’t think twice it is excellent. Oh! And she said the food is great, and I always got a great cup of tea.
My mum was a resident from February 2019 until she died there in October 2021. As her dementia progressed she was moved to their specialist dementia unit. I was allowed to make her room feel like home to her. They put up extra shelves to fit all her soft toys on and I was allowed to bring garden ornaments for outside her window and even allowed to dangle artificial birds for her to see from the eaves of the care home. The staff who took care of my mum were absolutely incredible. They were patient and understanding to the extreme. The care home manager always made herself available for me when I needed to see her. There was an activity coordinator, though my mum stopped participating the more the dementia increased. I was allowed to visit her in her room (outside of Covid-19 lockdowns - for which I was allowed some window visits) and play music to her. Mum's food was lovely. We were allowed to stay night and day when Mum was dying and held her hand as she took her last breath.
I would just like to say thanks so much, from the bottom of my heart, to all the staff who cared for my dad during his 6 weeks stay in the Delamere Unit. From the receptionists, physiotherapy team, nursing and care teams. We loved visiting and seeing him so happy. It’s the little things that count, one day popping in to find him playing cards with one of the care team, brought us so much happiness. Wonderful home.
The home has done its best during the covid pandemic, but now that things are easing they need to go back to taking more care of the peripherals, taking good care of the residents belongings. They need good key worker etiquette, making sure things are in good order and kept clean. Services need to be stepped up; opticians, new dentures as teeth have gone missing. We only go once a week but I feel not enough positive activity going on, need staff and supplies to do so. That being said, the staff who are there are lovely and try their best.
My brother has been in Gorton Parks Care Home for just over 5 years during which time his dementia has worsened and he does not engage in activities available now. I am concerned that the furniture in his room is now quite poor. I have seen other rooms with much newer furniture and I would like his to come up to higher standards. The staff are all great and keep me up to date regularly. The home is lucky to have them!
I can say in all honestly that my wife, could not have had better treatment. Your staff are very caring, day and night. I can only say a big thank you.
