View Full Details of Farnham Common HouseThe home is very homely. All the staff are very friendly, helpful and kind. At times there is a shortage of staff which makes it hard work for remaining staff. Although it is probably due to rotate staff around the different sections it would be nice to have one permanent member on each section because they get to know the different needs of each resident.
The staff are all very friendly and very helpful and can't do enough for the residents also the food looks delicious and dad always eats his.
It was a difficult decision for mum to put dad in a care home but it has been the best decision she could have made. All of the staff at Farnham Common House have made dad feel at home and very welcome. All the staff pop into his room and chat to him as they go past. He loves the home cooked food and all the activities especially musical ones or the animal visits. Farnham Common House is one of the best care homes I have visited and I have been to quite a few to visit elderly friends. I would highly recommend it.
The staff are all friendly and caring. Everything is spotlessly clean. The food looks very appetising. The chef made a beautiful cake for my friends birthday. My friend has settled down very quickly no longer saying she wishes to go home. She has made friends with one of the other residents and seems happy.
My mother passed away in July after just over a year of living at Farnham Common House. The latter part of her stay was in the dementia ward. From day 1, the staff were wonderful, and by staff I mean not only the carers but also all others who work there behind the scenes, such as the office, activity, kitchen and cleaning staff. It's such a difficult job looking after very elderly people, and at FCH I experienced caring at its best, loving, patient (sometimes in the extreme!), reassuring, professional, and humorous. The atmosphere in the home is positive, and, as a visitor, I always felt very welcome. Residents' needs are met on a very individual basis, and I never felt any worries at all about the way my mother was treated although I was not able to visit very often. Not least, I appreciated the close contact that the home maintained with me throughout my mother's stay. Thank you all so much.
As an ex-NHS worker, this is the very best care home I have personally come across. All staff, from the receptionist and office staff, kitchen staff (especially), activity staff (especially), laundry and cleaning are exceptional along with the care team - who are amazing. This really is a very happy and caring home from home. Exceptional.
My husband became a resident in the dementia unit on November 20th 2023. He found it difficult to settle in the beginning but he is now more familiar with his surroundings. I have found all the staff very helpful and kind to him. He finds it difficult to cope with activities but enjoys any form of music and loves singing.
This service is a new experience for myself and my family, as not been involved or been through the senial dementia illness ever before. Your service team are beneficial to assigning patients, who are unaware of daily tasks to choose and lifetime daily role. I (we), as a family, appreciate your involvement with managing and offering superb care for our family member and other patients with similar issues that helps their daily fun and care within a 24-hour cover to ease the situations. Thank you again for your care service.
Plenty for kids, plenty of food and drink options. Residents mixed with others which was really nice.
Access by bus - public transport is convenient. Front automatic sliding doors to press the button for secure entry by staff are very good. 8 of 9 entries no wait, immediate response and sign in/out. Friendly staff who recognised and remembered us. Quiet words of how she is doing physically and mentally. Her room was clean and fresh. The common room and piano are very nice! Dining room with a budgie and view to the patio - relaxing. Attending Saturday's meeting was informative.
I cannot praise the staff here too much. The friendly, professional care is excellent. They try to personalise the rooms to make the rooms as much like home as possible. They pop in to see the residents to ensure they are not needing anything. It means that the family can relax knowing their family member is being well cared for. 5-star rating from me!
My mother receives great care at the home despite her advanced condition. She is still treated with dignity and everybody addresses her by her name.
My brother is not an easy person to deal with and needs a great deal of encouragement to carry out simple tasks with his personal hygiene and medication. However, although he frequently objects to taking showers, shaving and taking his pills overall the care staff now can read his moods and respond accordingly. I am pleased with the care he is given here and appreciate all that is done for him.
Caring excellent and very attentive. The food is very acceptable and quite good.
My husband has been in Farnham Common House nearly six months with dementia. It was such a hard decision to make, after being married for 56 happy years together. I found it a very emotional time of my life, after looking after him at home and having to let go. Farnham Common House, carers, management and all staff are excellent with their care and attention. He is happy and contented, I visit on a regular basis and I am so glad I chose Farnham Common House and would like to thank everyone concerned for all their help.
The decision to move our mother into Farnham Common House is one that we are pleased to have made. On arriving we were warmly welcomed by a member of staff and to this day they have been caring and empathetic towards our mother's needs and supportive to family requests. We have found that all staff and management are professional and approachable at all times. The management of visitors (and staff) throughout the pandemic was robust and gave us confidence everything reasonable was being done to keep the residents as safe as possible. A programme of regular entertainment and activities for residents at the home is in place which helps maintain an engaging mindset for all and a homely feel for residents. Family member engagement and participation is also encouraged. All in all a very positive place.
Friendly, homely care home. The staff are very helpful and caring with my dad. My mother feels reassured leaving him in capable hands. The only negative is the decoration which is a little tatty, needs painting in areas. But this is not respective on the excellent care my dad receives. I am pleased my dad is happy at Farnham Common House and I want to thank the staff for this.
Feels like a real family atmosphere. The staff gave a compassionate and loving relationship with residents; they treat them with great dignity, they also have a sense of humour which residents enjoy. Visitors are warmly welcomed. There are a great variety of activities suited to the ability and understanding of the residents.
Through these challenging times, my Dad and our family have been treated with kindness and respect. The team at Farnham Common House are friendly and helpful and have done their utmost in maintaining contact via video calls and with regular updates on his wellbeing when in-person visits have not been possible. It is a comfort to know that he is happy and well cared for even though at this time we are prevented from spending quality time together. We hope to be able to share in and experience some of the activities and entertainment in the not too distant future.
I would highly recommend Farnham Common House. The staff are all so friendly and helpful at all times, we are always kept informed regarding any issues and with mum's general health. Rooms are all kept very clean, lots of activities for residents to do. I have no concerns with my mum being there as I know she is being well looked after.
