Farnham Common House

Dad has been at Farnham Common House for nearly 2 years and we couldn't be happier. All of the staff here work really hard to make the residents feel like it's their home. They have wonderful personalities and really relate to the residents. Dad is very happy here, which has been such a relief for mum. The home is always clean and very well maintained, the food is 5 star restaurant quality with a homely feel, and there's plenty of it. Today we enjoyed a BBQ with a wonderful singer and you could see how much the residents, families and staff all enjoyed it. We couldn't have picked a better place for dad other than his own home. Farnham Common house has a wonderful home within a village feel. Highly experienced management lead an amazing team. All the staff including carers, cleaners, laundry, maintenance and reception add value, care and a sense of family to the residents. Food amazing and home cooked!! Lovely lounges and gardens, lovely relaxed atmosphere. Mum has settled in brilliantly and of course it was a big deal for her and the family. Highly recommended!

The carers that look after my mum are amazing. The cleaners also do a fantastic job.

Lovely carers, nothing too much trouble for them. Their interactions with residents & visitors is always caring & considerate. Individual needs & requirements always at the forefront of their actions. Lovely rooms & plenty of sociable space.

My husband went into Farnham common house in June 2026. It was a hard choice to make I felt guilty and also felt that I was deserting him . The first week was awful for us all. My husband took just over a week to settle. He's really calm and settled. He has accepted it as his home and tells me as long as we visit he's happy. I can't thank all the staff enough everyone of them can't do enough . I know that is why my husband is so happy and settled. If we have had any hiccups they have gone out of there way to sort them out quickly. Last thing I felt put out because my husband was more happy and settled than he was at home (been married 58 years) there again the staff put me right and reassured me.

My father has settled well at Farnham Common House . The staff sort out any issues swiftly and log all the residents meals etc on their phone devices. The staff understand our situation and do their best to give us reassurance. As a family we feel that my father is happy and well cared for .

I asked a carer if I could take my nan out to the garden and needed her wheelchair, she proceeded to point to a cupboard that was locked expecting that I knew what to do. I found another carer who then opened it for me. I took my nan to the garden for an hour. She said she is bored and that she would love to come into the garden more, but no one can bring her as they are too short staffed. I brought her back into the day room and on my way through there was a carer lying with her shoes on the sofa on her phone. I was appalled to see this. The carers seem disinterested and I am not sure why they can't sit and do activities with the residents. The residents look bored and it was sad to see.

I have enjoyed all my weekly visits to see my friend.

It is nice to be kept updated on your loved one. Also, being listened to if you have any concerns. I had 3 issues with the care of my husband, but the manager dealt with quickly, which gave reassurance.

The home is very homely. All the staff are very friendly, helpful and kind. At times there is a shortage of staff which makes it hard work for remaining staff. Although it is probably due to rotate staff around the different sections it would be nice to have one permanent member on each section because they get to know the different needs of each resident.

The staff are all very friendly and very helpful and can't do enough for the residents also the food looks delicious and dad always eats his.

The staff are all friendly and caring. Everything is spotlessly clean. The food looks very appetising. The chef made a beautiful cake for my friends birthday. My friend has settled down very quickly no longer saying she wishes to go home. She has made friends with one of the other residents and seems happy.

My mother passed away in July after just over a year of living at Farnham Common House. The latter part of her stay was in the dementia ward. From day 1, the staff were wonderful, and by staff I mean not only the carers but also all others who work there behind the scenes, such as the office, activity, kitchen and cleaning staff. It's such a difficult job looking after very elderly people, and at FCH I experienced caring at its best, loving, patient (sometimes in the extreme!), reassuring, professional, and humorous. The atmosphere in the home is positive, and, as a visitor, I always felt very welcome. Residents' needs are met on a very individual basis, and I never felt any worries at all about the way my mother was treated although I was not able to visit very often. Not least, I appreciated the close contact that the home maintained with me throughout my mother's stay. Thank you all so much.

As an ex-NHS worker, this is the very best care home I have personally come across. All staff, from the receptionist and office staff, kitchen staff (especially), activity staff (especially), laundry and cleaning are exceptional along with the care team - who are amazing. This really is a very happy and caring home from home. Exceptional.

I have found all the staff very helpful and kind to him. He finds it difficult to cope with activities but enjoys any form of music and loves singing.

This service is a new experience for myself and my family, as not been involved or been through the senial dementia illness ever before. Your service team are beneficial to assigning patients, who are unaware of daily tasks to choose and lifetime daily role. I (we), as a family, appreciate your involvement with managing and offering superb care for our family member and other patients with similar issues that helps their daily fun and care within a 24-hour cover to ease the situations. Thank you again for your care service.

Plenty for kids, plenty of food and drink options. Residents mixed with others which was really nice.

Access by bus - public transport is convenient. Front automatic sliding doors to press the button for secure entry by staff are very good. 8 of 9 entries no wait, immediate response and sign in/out. Friendly staff who recognised and remembered us. Quiet words of how she is doing physically and mentally. Her room was clean and fresh. The common room and piano are very nice! Dining room with a budgie and view to the patio - relaxing. Attending Saturday's meeting was informative.

I cannot praise the staff here too much. The friendly, professional care is excellent. They try to personalise the rooms to make the rooms as much like home as possible. They pop in to see the residents to ensure they are not needing anything. It means that the family can relax knowing their family member is being well cared for. 5-star rating from me!
