We as a family have had a very stressful 6 months regarding my mother who is 99 years old. All the staff at Ashwood have been so supportive, professional and compassionate, way above of what would be acceptable. My mum is the happiest she has been for many years.

The 1st words that come to mind are kindness, gentle, professional, safe and trustworthy. I appreciate the regular updates on my mother's condition which has been challenging. The staff, and I mean ALL the staff, have been very respectful and thoughtful. The stress has been taken away from the family,
giving us valuable time to spend with our mother, that is priceless.
I think it is value for money and excellent medical care.
Thank you is not enough. x

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My dementia suffering dad has been attending Edwardstow for day care and respite. We recently met with Matt and Gemma to discuss possible long term residential care. I cannot speak highly enough about these two individuals. The support they have given my mum throughout the whole process has been outstanding.
They approach everything with the utmost sensitivity, empathy and care. Making an incredibly emotional and testing time as easy as possible. You are both a real credit to the organisation you work for and I cannot thank you enough for everything you do for dad and mum. There is not a single doubt that dad will get the best care possible at Edwardstow.
Reply from Harry Marsh, On behalf of the team at Edwardstow CourtThank you so much for taking the time to leave such a heartfelt review. We are truly grateful for your kind words about Edwardstow, and especially about Matt and Gemma. We understand how emotional and challenging these decisions can be for families, and it means a great deal to hear that the support, empathy, and care shown throughout the process has made a positive difference for both your mum and dad. Matt and Gemma are indeed a real credit to our team, and we will ensure your lovely feedback is shared with them. Thank you again for placing your trust in Edwardstow.

Very pleasant enviroment, everywhere clean. Roy feels safe, and I think his overall appearance and well-being have improved. Only 1 slight complaint, on several occasions after breakfast or dinner, he has been forgotten to be moved back to his room, has had to ring me to ring reception to ask for someone
to go and take him back to his room.

We're also very grateful for your comments, we will address this with the team to ensure better communication and consistency, so this doesn't happen again. Thank you for bringing it to our attention - your feedback helps us to continually improve the care and support we provide.

Whenever I visit it always seems understaffed. Room is grubby, had to sweep floor today. Kitchen is always grubby at weekends and floor sticky. Food is unappetising- tinned soup or sandwiches or crumpets for dinner! Had to wait outside building after ringing the the bell for at least 10 minutes.
Reply from Mia Harris, Deputy Manager at Sir Aubrey Ward HouseThank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. I am so sorry to hear that your recent experience did not meet the high standards of care we continually strive to provide. Please accept my sincere apologies regarding the concerns you have raised around cleanliness, response times, and the dining experience. We take all feedback such as this very seriously and appreciate you bringing these matters to our attention. Please rest assured our staffing levels are based upon an industry wide dependency assessment tool and remain within safe numbers, and the home is always fully staffed. I will be speaking directly with our Head Housekeeper and Catering Team regarding the concerns highlighted to ensure these areas are reviewed appropriately and our standards remain consistently high throughout the home. Your feedback is important to us all and helps us continue to improve the experience for both our residents , their families , and other visitors to our Home.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother in law was a resident at Lent Rise for 3 years. She was always treated with excellent care and attention for the whole of her time there. Clean and comfortable accommodation, fun activities, good food served in bright and pleasant surroundings. As her health deteriorated the staff amended
her care as required, she saw doctors weekly and they managed her end of life care with dignity and love. Thank you to everyone at Lent Rise for their help and support of my family during this difficult time.
Reply from Steph Palmer, On behalf of the team at Lent Rise HouseThank you so much for your 5 star review, Jane. We are so glad how happy you were with your mother in laws care.

Bemerton Lodge

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
My sister has been in Bemerton Lodge for approximately 9 months, when she was first admitted, she was filthy and dishevelled and refusing all help, within days she was clean and had started to eat properly and interact with the staff and other residents taken part in organised activities. The change
in her are very noticeable, and I feel this is mainly due to the skills and perseverance of the staff.
Reply from Harry Marsh, On behalf of the team at Bemerton LodgeThank you so much for taking the time to share your experience and for your kind words about Bemerton Lodge. We are delighted to hear about the positive changes you have seen in your sister since joining us. Our team is dedicated to providing compassionate, person-centred care, and it means a great deal to know that their skills, patience, and perseverance have made such a difference. We will be sure to share your lovely feedback with all the staff. Thank you again for your support and trust in our team.

Larkrise

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Since my husband went into Larkrise in March 2026 the whole team from the managers to the excellent dedicated team on the dementia specialist unit have been so welcoming, understanding, supportive and caring to both myself and my husband. From the outset I felt confident that my husband was in good
hands. The unit is very light and airy with plenty of space for residents to walk around with small individual lounges, a lovely dining room overlooking the secure garden and a club room for activities and he has his own large ensuite bedroom. Due to the excellent care, the care staff's knowledge of dementia and their intervention skills, my husband soon settled and he is responding well to the social stimulation, engagement with staff and joining in with the excellent programme of activities. He is noticeably calmer and happier. I am so comforted to know he is so well cared for. Thank you to everyone at Larkrise for the excellent person centred care you provide.
Reply from Helen Dearing, On behalf of the team at LarkriseThank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and heartfelt review. We're really pleased to hear that you've felt supported and reassured from the very beginning, and that your husband has settled so well here at Larkrise Care Centre. It's wonderful to hear how positively he's responding to the care, social stimulation, and activities, and that he is now calmer and happier. We're especially glad that the environment and the team's understanding of dementia have made such a difference for both of you. Your kind words mean a great deal to everyone here and will be shared with the whole team. Thank you once again, our review has made our day.

Mum moved to Wellford Gardens in January this year after several months of being in and out of hospital. She has settled well, the staff are very caring. The best thing is how much better she is physically and mentally, her walking has improved and she is much more independent. Beautiful room, lovely
facilities and so nice for us being able to have a meal or a drink with her. We feel part of the Wellford Community. Thank you!

The Meadows

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother has been a resident of the meadows for just under 2 years. The past year I would say she feels settled and safe and is vey happy. It took her a while to settle in because she missed her home, but all the staff made her feel very welcome and made the process easier. Mum enjoys the activities
and its good to see her joining in and laughing and chatting to everyone. She was struggling at meals times, but the staff have done everything they can to help her enjoy her meals. The Meadows is very clean and well maintained and if I have any concerns I can talk to someone and I'm reassured that they will handle any concerns I have.
Reply from Helen Dearing, On behalf of the team at The MeadowsThank you so much for your thoughtful feedback. We're really pleased to hear that your mum is now settled, safe, and happy at The Meadows, especially after what was clearly a difficult adjustment at the beginning. It's lovely to know she's enjoying the activities, joining in with others, and that staff have been able to support her with meals and make her feel more comfortable. We're also really glad you feel reassured and listened to whenever you have any concerns - that ongoing communication is so important to us.

Ridgeway House

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
Overall I'm pretty happy about care and attention given to the resident that I have the LPA for.
The carers are all very friendly and caring towards her.
I'm always greeted with a friendly smile , but I do want a small moan about the time it takes for someone to let you in (especially if it's raining)
it's been made worse by the change of entry before you used to able press the button and wait in the airlock and then press another button to let you in.
But now you have to wait for both doors to open before your let in (less safe than before)
Otherwise I've no complaints at all.
Reply from Harry Marsh, On behalf of the team at Ridgeway HouseThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are really pleased to hear that you are happy with the care and attention provided, and that you find our team friendly, caring, and welcoming. We also appreciate your comments regarding the entrance system, particularly the inconvenience during bad weather. We understand how frustrating this can be. Following your feedback, the home manager has reviewed the situation and a solution is already in progress, with the door expected to be fully functioning again in the next few weeks. Thank you again for your kind words and helpful feedback, it is greatly appreciated.

I am delighted that my mum has settled into The Ridgeway and feels so at home there.
The staff are wonderfully caring and thoughtful and work so hard to make her feel safe and looked after.
I always feel that the staff go above and beyond and are committed to addressing any issues be they little
or large to rectify them as soon as humanly possible. They are friendly and approachable and go about their busy days very professionally.

My Dad came to Westgate House for emergency respite (never had respite or a stay at any care home). Originally for 7 days but that was extended for a further 10 days. The whole team are amazing! For the first time in 5 years since my mum died, my dad's mood has been lifted! From the kitchen staff to
the manager, everyone is so nice. We, as a family, felt very welcome. My dad has no complaints, not even one. He is looking forward to hopefully having some further respite. A very special heartfelt thank you to Rose, who supported me from the first phone call. I will forever be grateful to all of you!
Reply from Helen Dearing, On behalf of the team at Westgate HouseThank you so much for your lovely 5-star review of our home, it really has put a smile on all our faces. We look forward to welcoming him again, you are both very welcome to attend any of our events - just drop in. Very best wishes from us all at Westgate House.
