Chilterns Court Care Centre

from M D (Wife of Resident) published on 1 December 2025
Submitted via Postal Card • Report
Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
In general I found all the staff attentive, caring and are understanding of his needs and if a request is not possible the majority of the staff will try to explain why. It is frustrating for him when the activities are changed at the last minute which seems to happen quite a lot so it is hard to encourage
him to go to the lounge & when events are not as advertised it is good that access to medical aid is excellent.

Foxby Court

from Gillian B (Daughter of Resident) published on 1 December 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
We used Foxby Court for respite in July for 2 weeks and we were very apprehensive but everyone was so welcoming and friendly. So when we needed some more respite Foxby Court was our first choice. This time around mum seemed so much more settled and at home( not that she wasn't in July) Every carer remembered
her. The care staff are amazing and nothing is to much trouble for them. She was a bit reluctant to get involved with the many activities but with a little bit of encouragement she soon got involved. The television room just of the dining hall was her go to place and you would often find her in there with a group of ladies watching tv and chatting. The staff would also inform us of everything she had been doing and her health. The staff treated my mum with respect and compassion at all times and make it feel like home. I can not rate the home or staff highly enough and would not hesitate to use this home again.
Thank you all so much for everything you have done for my mum and us.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My family and I had not had any experience of Care Homes, until about 4 weeks ago when our mother became a resident at Jubilee Court. Needless to say, we were anxious about what to expect. However, our anxiety and fears were unfounded. Jubilee Court is warm, caring and hospitable, to both the residents
and their families. Mum settled in really quickly because she was made to feel so welcome and was constantly reassured. It is a relief to know that our mother is now both safe and secure in their care. Also I have to say the quality of the food is exceptional and the menu carefully thought out each day, to ensure nutrition and variety of choice. I was fortunate enough to join my mum for lunch on a couple of a occasions and the food certainly did not disappoint. It was delicious! So for my mum, who loves her food, each mealtime is the highlight of her day. Chef was also kind enough to accommodate some of my Mother's special request which helped make her feel more at home. Thank you Chef. And all you wonderful people at Jubilee Court.

My mother stayed at Townsend House for short term respite care after hospital. We both found this care home had a friendly welcoming atmosphere, from all of the staff and residents. Mothers' care needs were well supported, enough so to return home.

My experience of Wellford Gardens was wonderful from start to finish. My mum was only at Wellford Gardens for 12 days; her decline was much quicker than expected. The staff cared for mum with genuine kindness and respect, making her feel safe and secure at all times. They also cared for us as a family
during an incredibly sad time with such kindness, consideration, and nothing was any trouble. I am so grateful for the true care all the staff gave my precious mum and my family. Thank you all.

Truly caring and helpful staff which is by far the most important thing in a care home for the elderly. Excellent food, pristine cleanliness. The residents are well taken care of. The rooms are a little on the small side but the facilities really are good value for money. I am very happy that my father
is so well cared for.

Mum loved being at Brookside, she called it home. The staff go above and beyond for their family (I would not call them Residents). You hear bad things of homes but this one is first class I would recommend it to anyone.

The care my dad receives is very good and the care staff are excellent. Nothing seems to be too much trouble, and they are all very helpful. The hairdresser and the chiropodist that tend to my dad are excellent. Both are so kind. I do feel that when the chef is deciding on the menu, it should be suited
at times to the elderly palate. Not all of them have their teeth or full set.

Lent Rise House

from Janice N (Daughter of Resident) published on 14 November 2025

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother has dementia and was immobile since arriving at the home around 2 years ago. I have always found that the staff take great care of my mother with nursing care and general wellbeing, and if she is poorly I get a call straight away. The staff take note of what the residents' likes or dislikes
are regarding food and drink, and hobbies, such as (in my mother's case) the garden and flowers. As time has gone on my mother's dementia has got worse but the staff are well trained and deal with it very well. From the start I have always received a very warm welcome when I visit, and I am amazed that they all know my name, as well as my mother's. There is always something going on in the large reception area with residents from all the wings enjoying things like a tea party, flower arranging, word games, exercises, etc, with entertainers visiting regularly. The home is kept very clean, decorated regularly, with a pleasant garden. I am extremely happy with my mother's care.

Hartsholme House

from Peter D (Son-in-law of Resident) published on 14 November 2025

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
In Hartsholme House, I see lots of examples of great leadership: Setting an example, being respectful, not only of residents (& their visitors) but also of one another, upholding values of dignity and standards ultimately in the selection of staff who really care about vulnerable people, who speak clearly
without impatience of condescenion helping all staff to be leaders and behave accordingly, engaging professionalism so all residents are treated with respect regardless of educational attainment, gender, skin colour, race or religion. I see carers discreetly doing 'the right thing' when no one is watching, eg bringing headgear to protect a resident's head whilst sitting in bright sunshine or checking how a resident acquired scratches on her forearm. HH enriches residents' lives by sharing gardening tasks, hosting religious meetings, and even taking a new resident for walks outside the home, to aid her settling in. From what I see, Hartsholme House is often a joyful place to live with laughter and fun, if you feel like it! Thank you for everything you do for my mother-in-law.
