Willowcroft

from F B (Daughter of Resident) published on 1 May 2026
Submitted via Postal Card • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mum always maintained that she would never go into a care home, but as her health deteriorated, she became extremely frail and vulnerable. After a long hospital stay, she moved into Willowcroft, and despite my anxiety about how she would settle in and mum's initial reluctance, she's adapted really
well. In my view, the staff were key. They are so warm, welcoming and kind. They always greet you with a smile, and nothing is too much trouble. They take great care to support mum in just the right way to meet her specific needs. I'm very happy mum is receiving such excellent care.
Reply from Steve Gardner-Collins, On behalf of the team at WillowcroftThank you for sharing such a heartfelt review. We understand how difficult and emotional it can be when a loved one transitions into care, especially when it's something they were initially reluctant about. We're so pleased to hear that your mum has settled well at Willowcroft and is feeling supported. Your kind words about our team mean a great deal. Providing warm, compassionate, and person-centred care is at the heart of everything we do, and it's wonderful to know that this has made a positive difference to both you and your mum. We'll be sure to pass your feedback on to the staff, who will be truly touched by your comments.

Marston Court

from A C (Daughter-in-law of Resident) published on 30 April 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Mum lived at Marston Court for 4 months and, from when we looked around until she left, she and all the family were treated with kindness. Support has been both caring and professional and we were encouraged to bring in personal belongings and furniture to ensure Mum's room reflected her personality.
This made the transition of moving into a home easier for her. Every member of staff was friendly and never too busy to listen. Activities, both those organised by the activities team, and the one to one care and chats by other staff, ensured that there was a real sense of well being. Mum only lived at Marston Court for a short time but was supported to settle in quickly and feel 'at home'.
The home is spotlessly clean, food is well presented and tasty and smiles, from every member of staff, plentiful. A 'homely home' and one I recommend.
Reply from Helen Dearing, On behalf of the team at Marston CourtWhat a really lovely 5- star review, we are so grateful for your very kind words about our home and team members. We pride ourselves on creating a homely environment and for that to be recognised by residents' families means the world to us. We also really appreciate you recommending us, you cant get a better accolade than that. As you said, your mum wasn't with us long but made a real impact and will be missed. Please do pop in for tea and cake if you're ever nearby, you will always be welcome. Very best wishes from our family to yours.

My husband has been in Willowcroft for 4 years he has been very well cared for in that time. The staff are friendly and caring treating people with kindness and dignity when they themselves have outbursts to content with from patients. I am always kept informed of any problems arising with my husband.
I have always found the home to be clean and welcoming.
Reply from Steve Gardner-Collins, On behalf of the team at WillowcroftWe are very pleased to hear that your husband has been so well cared for over the past four years, and that you feel our team provides support with kindness, dignity, and understanding. We recognise that caring for individuals who may experience moments of distress can be challenging, and we truly value your acknowledgement of the compassion and professionalism shown by our staff. It is also reassuring to know that you are kept well informed and that you find the home clean, friendly, and welcoming whenever you visit. Your feedback means a great deal to the team and will be shared with them as encouragement to continue delivering high-quality, person-centred care.

Windsor Street Care Centre

from Drusilla T (Daughter of Resident) published on 30 April 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
My mother has been at OSJCT Windsor Street Care Centre since Oct 2024 due to dementia. The home kindly agreed to let me bring her cat over from France, which has been a huge comfort to her and is loved by staff and residents.
The care feels much more personal than what we experienced before - she's
treated as an individual, not just a medical case. Staff are kind, understanding and respectful, and communication is generally good. I'm contacted when needed and management is approachable. Having Polish-speaking staff is also a big plus for her.
The home is clean, homely and welcoming, with a nice garden and activities available.
A couple of areas for improvement: clearer communication between management and staff (e.g. planning around her cataract operation), and the food could offer more variety/quality for the price.
Overall, I'm grateful and reassured she's being well cared for.
Reply from Steve Gardner-Collins, On behalf of the team at Windsor Street Care CentreWe're delighted your mother has settled in well and that bringing her cat has provided such comfort to her and others. It's wonderful to hear she feels treated as an individual and supported by our kind, respectful team, including Polish-speaking staff who help her feel at ease. We appreciate your positive comments about the homely environment, cleanliness, and activities, and will share this with our team. Your feedback also helps us improve. We recognise the importance of clear communication, particularly around care planning such as her cataract operation, and will review this internally. Additionally, we will pass on your comments regarding food variety and quality to our catering team. Thank you again for your trust and support, it means a great deal to us and reassures us we're on the right path.

Hayward Care Centre

from Peter H (Partner of Resident) published on 29 April 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
This is the third respite home we've tried and, at carer level, it was the best. First time a proper handover of my partner was achieved. The home was well laid out, clean and well-maintained with a coffee lounge for visitors and easy access to the garden. Carer communication was the reason we've tried
different homes. The Hayward carers were friendly, willing to listen, and responsive. Adequate numbers were available even at weekends, leading to a relaxed atmosphere. Pleasingly, it was rare to see a carer using a mobile phone in the residential areas. The difference in carers was still evident, but the care my partner received was better overall with good attention to the detail (hair, teeth, appearance). I often saw carers engaging with residents when they weren't needed on more urgent tasks. More effort and imagination were put into activities, and carers helped those who had difficulty participating. My partner was smiling and looked well-cared for when she came home after 3 weeks.
Reply from Steve Gardner-Collins, On behalf of the team at Hayward Care CentreThank you for your detailed and positive review of Hayward House. We're delighted to hear this was your best respite experience so far, particularly the smooth handover and strong communication from our team. Spencer Court

Having worked in care homes myself over the years, I have seen the full spectrum of care, the good and the not so good. Naturally, I was anxious when we realised my Nan needed residential care. However, Spencer Court has completely restored my faith.
From the very beginning, the team made an emotional
& difficult process feel easy. They are truly wonderful, kind, & nurturing. My Nan has settled in exceptionally well; she is always well-presented, speaks highly of staff, and most importantly genuinely loves the food & drink! No care journey is without its hiccups, but what sets Spencer Court apart is their communication. On a couple of occasions where issues have arisen, the staff have been transparent, communicative, & ensured things were resolved quickly & effectively.
Knowing that she is in the best possible hands gives our family a level of assurance we didn't think was possible. We are so grateful to the whole team for the care & dignity they provide her everyday.
Reply from Helen Dearing, On behalf of the team at Spencer CourtThank you so much for sharing such a thoughtful and meaningful review. We truly appreciate your perspective and are incredibly honoured that we have helped restore your confidence during what can be such an emotional and challenging time. We're delighted to hear that your nan has settled so well, feels happy and comfortable, and enjoys both the care and the food. Your kind words about our team's compassion, professionalism and open communication mean a great deal to us and will be shared with everyone. Thank you for trusting us with your nan's care - your appreciation really does mean the world to our team.

Wellford Gardens has been a very good answer to my particular situation.Having had a knee replacement operation and living alone , two weeks here meant that I would be well fed and watered and kindly looked after until l could manage again at home.(and thank you for the bath!) Facilities good Care
/support excellent.Cleanliness excellent.Treated with dignity excellent Food and drink, this could have been better., for me the portions were often too big and therefore off putting but I enjoyed the wine! STAFF. These are the most important part of the home and generally they did their job well. Sometimes understandably they seemed a little stressed.Activities, mostly fine and the Saturday event was excellent Management fine as I can tell . Flowers in room fabulous.Reponse to alarm calls excellent (Sorry for the panic in the middle of the night excellently handled)
I think for me my stay has been good value for money and I will certainly use you again .
Reply from Steve Gardner-Collins, On behalf of the team at Wellford GardensThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are really pleased to hear that Wellford Gardens was a good support for you during your recovery and that you felt well cared for, safe, and treated with dignity throughout your two week stay. It's especially lovely to know that the team helped you feel supported while you regained your independence, and that simple touches-like the bath and the flowers in your room added to your comfort. We also appreciate your honest comments regarding the food and portion sizes. Feedback like this is important, and we will make sure it is shared with the catering team to help us better tailor meals to individual preferences and reduce any unnecessary waste or discomfort. Your kind words about the staff, activities, cleanliness, and overall care are very much appreciated, and it's great to hear that the response to your needs day and night gave you reassurance. We'd be very pleased to welcome you again.

My mother, a resident of Willowcroft, has vascular dementia, and I must say, the care she receives from the staff is above and beyond what her family could give her. It is sad to see one's mother with vascular dementia, and all the issues that encompasses, but to know she is in the best place to suit
her complicated needs, is safe, fed well, clean, and as healthy and happy as can be expected, is a godsend to her family. The staff do an excellent job, and cannot be praised enough. All the staff I have had dealings with at Willowcroft have been first class. Their work and dedication is very much appreciated by me and the rest of my family. Thank you, Willowcroft, for everything you do.

My partner has been a resident of Bemerton Lodge since May 2025. At Christmas she became very poorly and was admitted to hospital. After five weeks, she recovered, and was able to go back to Bemerton Lodge, where her care needs increased.
The care she receives is second to none, with loving care and
attention to detail.
The staff are friendly and supportive, nothing is too much trouble

My Dad has been on Maple unit in Chestnut Court for 3 years now. The staff on his ward are fabulous!! Nothing is ever too much trouble. They are very professional but also very caring & loving towards my Dad, in fact all the people in their care. Everyone from the domestics to the care leads are wonderful.
Chestnut Court Maple ward was the best decision I made for my Dad and I can not thank them enough. Both their caring & medical knowledge is excellent. Thank you.

Both my parents were in Willowcroft until the end of January, when my mother sadly passed away, the care shown by all the staff members was above and beyond their job description. The care shown to both my parents in the fortnight running up to mum passing was unbelivable, and also to myself and my
two brothers

I can't thank Chestnut Court enough! My Mum would have preferred to stay at home forever but, the transition between home (Wales) and moving in last Friday has been seamless thanks to the Whole Team effort.

She is settled, interacting, communicating better, seems very happy already and is thankful

that we have brought her here.

Immediately her care needs have been addressed and the staff have been so patient and caring with her (and me). I am certainly sleeping better knowing that she is being looked after.

My Mums' smile is back! Thank you!

Reply from Steve Gardner-Collins, On behalf of the team at Chestnut CourtThank you so much for your kind and heartfelt review. It truly means a lot to the whole team at Chestnut Court.
