Review of

Madley Park House

from Lianne P (Daughter of Resident) published on 14 July 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Our mother has Alzheimer's and was finding living independently increasingly challenging. We visited several care homes in Witney and, whilst some met our main criteria such as clean, cared-for en-suite rooms and the facility to provide a permanent home for residents with dementia until end of life
care, Madley Park was the one that stood out as a caring and nurturing environment where we could envisage our Mum being happy. Our instincts were right and since the day she moved in, she has gone from being anxious, lonely and at times unhappy to feeling cared-for and respected, as well as enjoying lovely relationships with her carers. The care she receives is offered with sensitivity and where she was reluctant to accept support with personal and practical tasks from carers in her own home, she has surprisingly accepted this support from the wonderful staff at Madley Park. The staff are always warm and welcoming and are clearly very fond of Mum.
Reply from Helen Dearing, On behalf of the team at Madley Park HouseThank you so much for sharing such a thoughtful and heartfelt review. We know what a difficult decision it can be to choose the right care home, so it means a great deal to hear that you felt Madley Park was the right place for your mum. We're delighted to hear how much happier and more settled she is, and that she has built such lovely relationships with the team. Knowing she feels cared for, respected and comfortable accepting support is wonderful to hear. Your kind words will mean so much to everyone here, and we're grateful for the trust you've placed in us to care for your mum.

Old Station House

from C R (Daughter of Resident) published on 14 July 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Mum received exceptional care throughout her time here. Every member of staff was kind, compassionate, and attentive, always treating her with dignity and respect. What meant the most to me was that they saw her as an individual, not just an elderly resident. They took the time to get to know her and
ensured she felt valued, comfortable, and cared for every day.
The team also supported us through an incredibly difficult time. They kept us informed, listened to our concerns, and always offered reassurance when we needed it. Their kindness and understanding made such a difference, and over time they became like an extended family. Knowing Mum was safe, happy, and surrounded by people who genuinely cared gave us great peace of mind. We will always be grateful for the compassion shown and would wholeheartedly recommend this wonderful team to anyone looking for outstanding care.
Reply from Helen Dearing, Regional Marketing Manager - Central at Old Station HouseThank you so much for taking the time to share such a heartfelt review. We are truly honoured that you entrusted us with your mum's care, and it means so much to hear that she felt valued, comfortable and cared for as the individual she was. Treating every resident with dignity, compassion and respect is at the heart of everything we do. We're also deeply touched by your kind words about the support you received as a family. Knowing we were able to offer reassurance and be there for you during such a difficult time means a great deal to us. Your comments will be shared with the whole team, who will be incredibly moved by your appreciation. Thank you for your trust in Old Station House, your recommendation, and for allowing us to be part of your mum's journey.

My husband has had additional 2 weeks respite care at Patchett Lodge. This is the home of my choice as I used to work there before becoming a 'community care officer' for adult social care adults team. He is happy, settled comfortable and feels secure and I know he is safe. The staff are aware that
he likes to be self sufficiant they allow him this autonomy. He likes being able to return to his room as and when he wants to. Perfect! Thank you.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
This is a well managed care home and very friend care home. The staff are amazing, friendly and always there when residents needed help. The kitchen staff offers good selection of food. The manager and other management staff are always there, good communicator and listener for all concerns. It's nice
to be able to talk to someone about any concerns, and help when needed. Would definitely recommend Henry Cornish.
Reply from Helen Dearing, On behalf of the team at Henry Cornish Care CentreThank you so much for your kind feedback. We're delighted to hear your positive feedback and that we are a friendly, well-managed home, and that you value the support, kindness and communication from both the care and management teams. It's also lovely to know that the meals and choice of food are appreciated. Thank you as well for your comments about activities. We recognise how important these are to residents' wellbeing, and we're pleased to be recruiting for a dedicated Activities Coordinator to further develop our programme. We hope to have someone in post very soon. We really appreciate your recommendation and your thoughtful feedback.

Mum has lived at Madley Park for just over 2 years. The staff are all friendly, attentive and approachable. They often will always find time to spend a few minutes just chatting with mum which she very much appreciates. I am always happy to see her enjoying good company and good food, But above all
Mum is happy here and feels "AT HOME".

My father went into Whitefriars in Stamford for respite care with a view to becoming a permanent resident. We found the staff to be very understanding of our feelings and made Dad very welcome and relaxed on arrival. As the weeks progressed, my dad settled in well, and although he suffers from Alzheimers
Dementia, his personality became a lot more relaxed and happy. To see him smiling again is wonderful. The staff are all very friendly, and the whole place feels like we are all part of a team of taking care of Dad.

My mum spent 13 weeks here. I got to know the staff quite well in that time. Mum was treated very well, with care and respect. There was a very good atmosphere, with some of the residents taking time together in the dining room and joining in with the singing.
I felt very welcomed there every time
I visited my mum.

The overall experience of the Henley boat trip was excellent. The only "problem" was that of roadwork delays and totally out of anyones control. Lovely relaxing experience. Lucy, the captain explained about the river, countryside, using a large map to show people. Care home staff had relevant medication
drinks and snacks for residents needs.
Reply from Steph Palmer, On behalf of the team at The HeightsThank you very much for your 5 star review, K S. We glad you enjoyed the boat trip!

My mother has been at Windsor Street for a year now, after an initial 3 week respite care stay. It was her decision to stay permanently. She was always adamant that she didn't want to go into a care home. It has given her a feeling of belonging. She goes to the entertainment and is always saying how
great it is. She enjoys eating her meals with her fellow residents. She is extremely well cared for and is happy. She's had a couple of falls and is attended to straight away, whereas at home she would be on the floor for hours. Highly recommend it.
Reply from Harry Marsh, On behalf of the team at Windsor Street Care CentreThank you so much for taking the time to share your wonderful review. We're delighted to hear that your mum has settled so well at Windsor Street and that what began as a respite stay has become a place where she feels happy, supported and has a real sense of belonging. It's lovely to know she's enjoying the activities, sharing meals with fellow residents, and receiving the care she deserves. Your kind recommendation means so much to our team. Thank you for trusting us with your mum's care.

The home is relaxed comfortable environment for my dad. Dad is a self funder at present. The staff are friendly, helpful, pleasant, and caring to the residents and visitors. We can pop in unannounced if needed to. Dad has mislaid his personal items, leaving them in different places. The staff are excellent
tracking these down! The dining area is nicely laid for meals, varied menu's and very nice food. Drinks and snacks from the trolley throughout the day. Weekly dr check for all residents. Excellent dr, reviews medication etc. Hairdresser, chiropodist calls in. Lovely gardens, awning for hot weather, good seating, gardening club, raised beds for helpers (residents) bird box painting, art and crafts, puzzles in day room, seated exercises, ball games (adapted) book club. Lots of events, weekly singer, afternoon tea for residents/visitors on Wednesdays. Excellent activities manager, adapted soft tip darts. Lovely room for dad.
Reply from Helen Dearing, On behalf of the team at StirlingsIt's lovely to know that the team's friendliness, attentiveness, and help with day-to-day things-like tracking down misplaced items-has been reassuring. We're also delighted you've highlighted the dining experience, regular health support, and the wide range of activities and outings available, as these all play such an important part in residents' wellbeing. Your kind words will be shared with the whole team, who will be very encouraged by your feedback.

This is a 1st class care home . The Nurses and carers are 1st rate and great at their jobs. A special mention to Sonika nuse
Excellent nurse and communication.
The activity team are also 1st class.
My only concern is that the reception is not always manned which means access is sometimes very hard
this said Gemma the day time receptionist is very welcoming and knowledgeable.

My mother has been at Cherry Garth for nearly two years now. The quality of care is very good, and my mum is very happy and safe. The staff, in particular, are very caring. Yesterday she attended a picnic in the local sensory garden in Holmer Green along with a number of the residents; she really enjoyed
the activity.

The care for my mother was and is exceptional, staff have worked tirelessly to improve her mental and physical state to good effect. She is now back on her feet and is enjoying her time again. Her room is always clean and tidy even if the odd item that does not belong to her ends up squirrelled away
in her cupboards. But I fear that is more to do with my mother mistaking items to be hers rather than the rightful owner.

Chesham Leys is an excellent care home. The care given to my friend is brilliant. She always gets the best care and her best interests are always taken into account. Her dignity is maintained and nothing is to much for the carers. Always interact with me when I come in and offer drinks. Brilliant care
home.

I visited my friend Michael after 2 years, I can't tell you the difference he has now, he is so much better, and he said he is well looked after. I met the manager who has been there for two years now and he knows Michael very well which is a nice experience as most times they don't know the residents.

Recently my grandad has needed to go into care for his dementia. The staff at Wellford Gardens are amazing. The are kind and caring and always have his best interest at heart.
