My mum spent 13 weeks here. I got to know the staff quite well in that time. Mum was treated very well, with care and respect. There was a very good atmosphere, with some of the residents taking time together in the dining room and joining in with the singing.
I felt very welcomed there every time
I visited my mum.

My mother has been at Windsor Street for a year now, after an initial 3 week respite care stay. It was her decision to stay permanently. She was always adamant that she didn't want to go into a care home. It has given her a feeling of belonging. She goes to the entertainment and is always saying how
great it is. She enjoys eating her meals with her fellow residents. She is extremely well cared for and is happy. She's had a couple of falls and is attended to straight away, whereas at home she would be on the floor for hours. Highly recommend it.
Reply from Harry Marsh, On behalf of the team at Windsor Street Care CentreThank you so much for taking the time to share your wonderful review. We're delighted to hear that your mum has settled so well at Windsor Street and that what began as a respite stay has become a place where she feels happy, supported and has a real sense of belonging. It's lovely to know she's enjoying the activities, sharing meals with fellow residents, and receiving the care she deserves. Your kind recommendation means so much to our team. Thank you for trusting us with your mum's care.

The knowledge and experience of the staff at Maple House in Chestnut Lodge, Quedgeley is evident and very reassuring. Their willingness to support both my mother and our family at an extremely difficult time, in a very professional, friendly, caring manner has meant so much, and we feel very supported
every step of the way. It's clear that they are extremely dedicated to supporting residents nursing, emotional, physical, and social wellbeing needs.
Maple House's accommodation is modern and exceptionally clean, and residents have their own spacious en-suite rooms to relax in. Although there are two lounges, I feel that the true 'heart' of Maple House is undoubtedly the Dining Area. With its lounge chairs and patio doors opening onto a spacious courtyard, it feels much like a family kitchen-a hub where residents, visitors and staff gather, that has a warm and welcoming. supportive, and happy atmosphere that we deeply appreciate.
Thank you for creating such a welcoming and supportive environment. It is wonderful to see my mother so well cared for, and we are grateful for the sense of community that Maple House provides.

My Mother sadly passed this month, she was there for 18 months and the staff were fantastic and believe she died knowing her family and staff were their.
The staff over the period got to know her as Nanny pat, and when the funeral directors collected Mum the staff were at the door to show their respect
and love for her.
She was happy at the home and helped the staff as she was a nurse herself for 38 yrs.
Thank you to all the staff .
amazing people who have the patience of saints.
Keep up the good work we all appreciate it so much.

Elderly father entered into care at Jubilee Lodge. Welcoming from staff, nothing too much trouble, my father likes very hot drinks and make sure they are hot. We as family feel very at ease at this difficult time that all his needs are catered for at the highest level. He enjoys the banter with the
staff and has attended some of the home activities. The staff are very encouraging to get him to participate at 91 years young. He appears to be very happy and my mum as his main carer is also confident he is well looked after, married over 65 years.

My dementia suffering dad has been attending Edwardstow for day care and respite. We recently met with Matt and Gemma to discuss possible long term residential care. I cannot speak highly enough about these two individuals. The support they have given my mum throughout the whole process has been outstanding.
They approach everything with the utmost sensitivity, empathy and care. Making an incredibly emotional and testing time as easy as possible. You are both a real credit to the organisation you work for and I cannot thank you enough for everything you do for dad and mum. There is not a single doubt that dad will get the best care possible at Edwardstow.
Reply from Harry Marsh, On behalf of the team at Edwardstow CourtThank you so much for taking the time to leave such a heartfelt review. Edwardstow Court

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I stayed at Edwardstow for two weeks Respite care after a knee operation. I had looked around before my stay and knowing what to expect helped me to settle in comfortably. The carers were friendly, helpful and cheerful, despite being very hard working. They offered help if needed but were never intrusive
and this enabled me to find my level of independence safely. As a result I felt free to do things for myself as much as possible which aided my recovery and encouraged confidence in my ability to cope on leaving. Friends and family were able to visit and I enjoyed sharing meals with them, with a glass of wine. A small, private dining area being available for such occasions was a huge plus! I would also mention weekly hairdressing and a bright, cheery cafe which was open every day for all to use. I will need more surgery soon and would definitely choose Edwardstow again.
Reply from Steve Gardner-Collins, On behalf of the team at Edwardstow CourtThank you for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review of your respite stay at Edwardstow following your knee operation. We are delighted to hear that visiting beforehand helped you feel comfortable and settled from the start. Your kind comments about our carers mean a great deal. We are proud of the friendly, supportive care they provide, and it is wonderful to know they helped you maintain your independence and confidence during your recovery. Supporting residents to do as much as they safely can for themselves is something we strongly believe in, so we are especially pleased this had such a positive impact on your rehabilitation. It is also lovely to hear that you enjoyed spending time with your friends and family, particularly sharing meals together in the private dining area and making use of our caf and hairdressing services. Thank you once again for your recommendation and trust in Edwardstow. We wish you all the very best with your upcoming surgery.

The most wonderful care home. Have looked after my dad wonderfully since my mum passed 2 years ago. It's a happy place.
Mother is in advancing stage of dementia and immobility. She is always happy and doesn't say anything negative - ever. "Food is good, warm, comfortable and the staff are lovely". She is very content. Father recognises he's lost independence but knows he needs the care provided.
He is also content and well looked after.

What wonderful staff and volunteers who all keep Monkscroft residents safe and cared for every day.

My dad has his care needs met as an individual person, rather than part of a crowd. They put us in touch with the veterans' volunteer who assisted us with obtaining a personalised wheelchair that fully

meets his physical needs, that have changed over time, so that he can join in with the activities again.

Thank you.

My mother has been at OSJCT Windsor Street Care Centre since Oct 2024 due to dementia. The home kindly agreed to let me bring her cat over from France, which has been a huge comfort to her and is loved by staff and residents.
The care feels much more personal than what we experienced before - she's
treated as an individual, not just a medical case. Staff are kind, understanding and respectful, and communication is generally good. I'm contacted when needed and management is approachable. Having Polish-speaking staff is also a big plus for her.
The home is clean, homely and welcoming, with a nice garden and activities available.
A couple of areas for improvement: clearer communication between management and staff (e.g. planning around her cataract operation), and the food could offer more variety/quality for the price.
Overall, I'm grateful and reassured she's being well cared for.
Reply from Steve Gardner-Collins, On behalf of the team at Windsor Street Care CentreWe're delighted your mother has settled in well and that bringing her cat has provided such comfort to her and others. It's wonderful to hear she feels treated as an individual and supported by our kind, respectful team, including Polish-speaking staff who help her feel at ease. We appreciate your positive comments about the homely environment, cleanliness, and activities, and will share this with our team. Your feedback also helps us improve. We recognise the importance of clear communication, particularly around care planning such as her cataract operation, and will review this internally. Additionally, we will pass on your comments regarding food variety and quality to our catering team. Beata who we get on with very well and the same with Colette & Adam. Reception are helpful too.

Chestnut Court is very clean and warm, it is very welcoming (home from home) All the staff are lovely and know the job at times can be very hard and difficult, but the staff all do it with a smile and get on and do it. Nothing seems to much, and that goes for all staff! Thank you.
