I volunteer part time doing teas, coffee and chat with small groups of residents. I have been made very welcome by staff and I feel my efforts are valued. It is a very happy environment. They appreciate how hard it is for people to lose their independence.
On a practical level, everything is spotless,
they take this very seriously. The garden is beautifully kept and the residents really enjoy it. They work very hard to have interesting things for the residents to do. Visiting is a pleasure not a chore.

My late mother was cared for with compassion and everything done to meet her individual needs. The staff were partners with us in her care, they communicated well and made sure that Mum and our views and feelings were always taken into account. While able Mum participated in a wide range of activities
and had opportunities that she would not have had if still at home, and she particularly enjoyed the visits by animals and birds. The team always met Mum and us with a smile, and made her final days as comfortable as possible.

My husband has been living in Monkscroft for more than 4 years. I have always found the staff and management to be very caring and helpful to both my husband and myself. I always feel very welcome when I visit the home. My husband is bedbound and unable to move or speak but the staff regularly speak

My stepmother, Indy MBE has been looked after at The Lakes Care Centre for six years until her death. This last was handled very well. She died unexpectedly and peacefully at night at the home with the step granddaughter at her side. Throughout these years Indy, a very private woman, was treated with
respect, with humour and care. Although suffering with severe memory loss she was able to do crosswords and play scrabble with the staff and other residents. I have no hesitation in recommending The Lakes Care Centre.

Moved my Nana here from another care home. So glad I have. The care is excellent and my Nana is much happier. It helps to know she is receiving excellent care and I can feel reassured. It is a very welcoming place and they go the extra mile. For her birthday, we were given a space to host a party for
her and they made an amazing cake for her. I would recommend this care home to everyone. The staff clearly take an interest in my Nana and look for ways to personalise her care and activities. Above all things, she is safe and she gets help as soon as she needs it. The team always communicate with us and there is never a time we don't know how she is getting on.

Mum was a resident at Millbrook Lodge for 5 years until she passed away on 15th August 2025. The care she received over that time was amazing and everyone always worked as a team. The passion for caring for the residents shone through in everything that the everyone did. The teamwork and dedication

My Mother was an emergency admission for End of Life Care at the end of June. She found the change from home to Windsor Street Balmoral Unit difficult to begin with, the Carers and Senior Staff were absolutely brilliant with her and both my Mother and I and my daughter were soon feeling one of the
'family' - the dedication was so warming and happy, Mum thrived there for so much longer than the Doctors anticipated which for her and us her family was comforting even though we knew the end was near.
During the final hours the ' Team' were wonderful at seeing to Mum and our needs too - we felt the love and care immensely.
After Mum passed away Claire and Alena took care of Mum whilst my daughter and I had a walk, they made Mum look so beautiful and peaceful in her bedroom. Mum couldn't have been in a better Care Home than St John's Windsor Street, Prestbury Cheltenham.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
The care and support we received from Chestnut Court for both our parents and us as a family was absolutely incredible. They allowed us to make it 'our home' as well as mums, with all the care staff, nurses and management making us extremely welcome. We loved the home made food cooked on site with barely
a day going by where we weren't offered something whether it be food or hot drinks. We also loved the welcoming touch of a coffee machine & homemade cakes in the reception and the beautiful gardens we could sit in and enjoy. A wonderful care home.
