Wow, what a special place! St Edwardstow Court have surpassed my expectations in everyway since Mum became a resident. Locally, its has always had a great reputation for being good, but now having a family member here I can fully appreciate just how excellent it is. We as a family have had 5* care and support from initial enquiry to Mum becoming a resident, this was all a smooth transition, any anxieties or worries I had for Mums next steps were completely relieved of me when Kerry and Matt took us under their wing. They worked seemlessly with us as a family, and also a number of differing medical staff to gauge a holistic insight in Mums complex care needs and personal preferences, in order to fully understand her as person and how they could enhance her quality of life in her new environment. Mum now feels settled where I feel she is thriving, not just surviving, and around staff that have her best interests always at heart. This care home has a community, family feel where

Edwardstow Court is a vibrant community with a positive approach to life. From first enquiry to respite then permanent care, all members of staff were responsive, kind and supportive. The home is beautiful, clean and well stocked with lovely facilities eg, the cafe and gardens. The daily activities and regular events and outings add to the choices and experiences that residents, family and friends can enjoy together.

My dementia suffering dad has been attending Edwardstow for day care and respite. We recently met with Matt and Gemma to discuss possible long term residential care. I cannot speak highly enough about these two individuals. The support they have given my mum throughout the whole process has been outstanding. They approach everything with the utmost sensitivity, empathy and care. Making an incredibly emotional and testing time as easy as possible. You are both a real credit to the organisation you work for and I cannot thank you enough for everything you do for dad and mum. There is not a single doubt that dad will get the best care possible at Edwardstow.

I stayed at Edwardstow for two weeks Respite care after a knee operation. I had looked around before my stay and knowing what to expect helped me to settle in comfortably. The carers were friendly, helpful and cheerful, despite being very hard working. They offered help if needed but were never intrusive and this enabled me to find my level of independence safely. As a result I felt free to do things for myself as much as possible which aided my recovery and encouraged confidence in my ability to cope on leaving. Friends and family were able to visit and I enjoyed sharing meals with them, with a glass of wine. A small, private dining area being available for such occasions was a huge plus! I would also mention weekly hairdressing and a bright, cheery cafe which was open every day for all to use. I will need more surgery soon and would definitely choose Edwardstow again.

I have been satisfied with all aspects of my care during my stay. This staff are efficient and friendly and ready to provide help when needed. The dining room is well presented and excellent food served.

We found the staff to be truly wonderful, very helpful and caring. Edwardstow is a very clean, nicely furnished care home. It has a calming effect when entering the building. I cannot sing the praises of all staff highly enough. Greatly enjoyed my stay with them all.

The staff at Edwardstow Court are outstanding. Professional at all times, their kindness, courtesy, genuine appreciation of resident's and family/ carers needs, is exceptional and they are a credit to the OSJCT and their profession.

Whenever I visit her, I always feel that the atmosphere of the home is full of positive energy. The staff are generous in their kindness and I feel huge gratitude towards Edwardstow, the manager and his team.

Edwardstow isn't just a place of safety, but somewhere she is truly cared for as she deserves. The care team treat all the residents as they would their own family, they work very hard to ensure she has everything she needs; good food, a warm and cosy environment and plenty of activities to keep her just busy enough. On top of that they take time to get to their residents and talk about their interests . They keep us up to date on everything and it's never a problem to just drop in and have lunch, or to take her out at a moments notice. The little on site cafe is a lovely space to be able to have privacy, whilst enjoying a coffee and a treat, and it is always clean and welcoming. I Highly recommend.

The layout, decor and equipment are perfect. Especially impressive is that the building is light and airy with soft colours encouraging a sense of peace and harmony. As a visiting friend said, 'it's like a first class hotel'. Not only is the cooking of the highest standard, the variety, presentation and ease-of-eating of the food is an eye-opener for anyone caring for loved-ones with dementia - several soft portions on small plates in as many different colours as you can muster. Most obviously a care home needs carers who see their role as much more than just a job that earns them money. As well as being well-trained, they need to have empathy and understanding - neither of which is easy to keep up day after day on 12 hour shift. Edwardstow Court has them in abundance. PS My views are based on two weeks' respite care for both myself and my partner of some 57 years plus daily visits to be with her now that she is a permanent resident.

Edwardstow Court in this early stage of our families experience is an excellent residential care home. My mum was very nervous & from the first day, she has become happy & I have not seen her laugh & smile to so much for many years. Whatever you do please keep doing it. Thank you so much!

Edwardstow Court is a remarkable establishment and staff are exceptional. The care and attention given to my husband is remarkable. He only attends one day a week and looks forward to his time there.

We came to visit the day after she was released from hospital after her fall. Her face was badly bruised and cut she had lost a lot of weight. Didn't know my husband and me at all, had lost so much weight and wouldn't talk, that was in December. Since then she has improved so much in every way. January she was more herself and by February she looked and talked as she always had, it is now a pleasure to visit. The staff are a delight.

I went to Edwardstow Court after hospitalisation for a severe bout of influenza. The facilities of the Court were entirely suitable for my needs, whilst basically, were to rebuild my strength and health in an attempt to return to my ability to live alone without help. Everything about the Court is of a very high standard. There is an impressive and tasteful feel about everything, in the construction and fitting out. You get the immediate feeling that the people will be happy here, as I was in for a short time settling in, despite the illness. The atmosphere was aided by friendliness and companionship which residents and staff exceeded. A great home.

After a difficult time at home with my husband's worsening symptoms of Vascular Dementia, my family and I decided to enter him into the care of Edwardstow Court and have been delighted with his subsequent care and well-being. He has been treated with patience, dignity, and at all times kindness.

Excellent support and understanding plus amazing patience. My husband is a tall and quite fit 78 year old but his dementia is severe. He is constantly looking for food and is cunning about finding it even with his type 2 diabetes. The latter he does not understand now, although he has been on medication for 17 years! The activities are great and with a willful escape artist, they understand he needs to get outside! My only concern is the presence of biscuits, breakfast marmalade etc always in the kitchen area which he can easily access when he says "I need to go to the loo!"
