Although unable to visit, we had a video tour so my mother could see the room where she would be staying, as well as the different sitting areas and outside areas. I cannot express enough how overwhelmed I always was with the care shown by all staff and the support they provided to me through my mother's stay and since her passing.

I cannot tell you how relieved I am to have found somewhere so caring and welcoming to both of us. Even the chef came out to welcome my husband on his return. Everything is catered to his needs and all the staff are just wonderful, giving me confidence that my husband is well looked after. I only wish they would accept National Health funding as our resources are much depleted.

Early days for my dad but I am happy that he is in a safe and secure environment with carers available 24 hours a day - night times were a problem at home.

Edwardstow Court is outstanding on two counts: the quality of its care staff and the physical surroundings in a purpose built home with a high standard of finish.
The care staff are, without exception, cheerful, considerate and very patient. They are highly attentive and offer personal care to each resident tailored to their needs.
The en-suite rooms are well-appointed and the public spaces are light, airy, well-decorated and immaculately kept. The design has been very well thought out.
Its limitations at the moment are solely a function of its newness. Because it is still far from full, the current range of activities is limited and the lounges and different activity areas are under-exploited. When the home is working nearer to capacity, it will be a very good residential home.

Matt has worked within the Trust since 2018, and his journey has been one of continuous growth, development and a real passion for making a difference.
He began his career with the Trust as a cook at Edwardstow before progressing to Head Chef. During this time, he was part of the team that helped the home achieve an Outstanding rating in Responsive, an achievement he is incredibly proud to have contributed to.
Matt then took the next step in his career by moving into care, becoming Deputy Home Manager before progressing to General Manager in 2024.
He is passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of the people he supports. His leadership style is centred around encouragement, empowerment and helping others to recognise and reach their own potential.
Outside of work, Matt is married to Amy and is a proud dad of five children. Family is incredibly important to him, and he gets a huge amount of joy from spending time with his children and making memories together

Reflecting on the favourite parts of her role, Kerry said: “I take enjoyment and pride out of making sure our residents feel happy and safe at Edwardstow Court. I love to listen to their stories and share mine with them.”

Initially, Sue started as a Carer at Jubilee Lodge before being promoted to Care Leader in 2010. When Edwardstow Court opened in 2018, Sue made the move across and has been part of the Edwardstow family ever since.

I started here as a cook and have recently been promoted to head chef. I would say my favourite part of working here is being able to provide quality home-cooked meals for our residents, especially those living with dementia, as mealtimes are often a special time in their day and I am committed to making them memorable with meals that they enjoy, and the feelings that it can evoke are something words can’t describe.

She has completed her BTEC Level 2 Award in Supporting Activity Provision in Social Care as well as a Level 3 in Adult Social Care. Regular engagement in activities and meaningful occupation can improve cognitive function, increase mood, and even enhance physical health for residents, especially those living with Dementia.Activity Co-ordinators are vital in facilitating these opportunities for social interactions as well enabling residents to pursue or even learn new interests and skills.
Reflecting on her time at Edwardstow Court so far, Caroline said: ‘My journey at the home started as a Housekeeper in August 2024. The desire to have more interaction with the residents has led me to pursue my current role’
The caring and creative characteristics needed in her current roles come naturally to Caroline.‘I have always had a caring nature and try to be helpful where possible, now I can put both qualities into my work to make a real difference. Working on reception enhances my relationship with the families and being part of the activities team allows me to enjoy a full schedule of meaningful activities with the residents.’
