The atmosphere at Edwardstow is fantastic due to the caring, dedicated and cheerful staff. Residents are treated with care, respect and genuinely positive energy. There is a real emphasis on engaging families and friends of residents, alongside the wider community, which helps the home to feel open and inclusive - not in any way cut off. The range of activities and outings on offer is a real asset. I've been impressed with the interface between local medical and nursing care, which means any issues or ailments are picked up quickly and managed well. Facilities are always spotless and mum's room is clean, modern and very comfortable. We particularly enjoy the gardens and the woodland walk, and the lovely cafe is a welcome space to host visitors. I highly recommend Edwardstow.

We found everyone at Edwardstow Court to be friendly and helpful, the accommodation was spotlessly clean and the food was cooked to a good standard. Plenty of options to mix and chat with other residents and staff in the cafe, garden and communal lounge.

Right from my first visit to Edwardstow, I have felt confident and relaxed with the care the establishment provides. Dementia with one's spouse is a difficult and very stressful journey. The last thing I require would be stress related to the quality of care my wife is receiving. I really cannot fault the physical premises and the professionalism of the staff who, without exception, go out of their way to ensure their guests and family and friends' needs are well catered for. Edwardstow is a lovely place which I strongly recommend.

My husband has been staying at Edwardstow for 4 weeks on the dementia floor. I feel that he is receiving excellent compassionate and consistent care. The staff are cheerful pleasant and polite. They know the patients and often greet visitors by name. Visitors are always made welcome, I am always kept informed of any issues or changes in his condition and I am aware of the knowledge and professionalism of the staff. There are organised activities for those who are able to join in and the catering is of a very good standard, being adapted to individual needs. I would like to thank the staff for their ongoing support.

Mum stayed recently for one week of respite care at Edwardstow Court. Throughout her stay, I felt that mum was made very welcome and well looked after. All her needs were well catered for and she was comfortable. Her room was spotlessly clean and the home had a fresh bright feel. The staff were all very kind and helpful. Managment communicated with me very well. Very personal service. Would certainly consider again for future stays.

My parents were residents at Edwardstow for three years. During that time the care and support they have received could not be faulted in any way.
Nothing was too much trouble, communication was amazing and every team member fabulous.

I cannot thank them enough for supporting me so kindly during a very difficult time.

The carers are of high quality generally although the changing shift patterns make continuity of care difficult at times and follow-ups in tests difficult to ascertain.

The food is copious, perhaps too much but varied and of quality.

A truly person-centred care home. Each resident may have an individual routine or they may not. At Edwardstow Court, that's ok as each day each resident is supported to the resident's wants as well as their needs.

During my stay here, I have found all staff to be very kind and caring. I have always felt safe and have been treated with dignity and friendliness. When I needed something different (e.g. food), they listened and bought something to suit me. I do wish the lovely hairdressing salon was available more often as I find this really good and I'm now not able to do this myself. At busy times (e.g. when people need personal care help). The staff are very stretched, are there sufficient?

Overall experience, very good. The bedroom and communal areas are always clean and tidy. All staff are always friendly and polite. Mum is always clean and tidy and appears to be very well cared for. Good planned activities, and plenty of food. My only comment would be that I am not always informed if Mum has been unwell, or she has had a doctor's visit or is awaiting blood test results, so I would like more contact in those areas. Otherwise, extremely pleased and would recommend it.

Staff and management continue to be professional and helpful. It has not been easy for my aunt to adjust to her loss of mobility and dexterity and to accept she needs two carers plus a hoist to get out of her bed or chair. Waiting for two carers is frustrating for her, although staff response time is generally good. The carers are kind and patient with her deteriorating memory. Despite lacking dexterity my aunt largely feeds herself, although she finds it difficult, it allows her a tiny degree of independence. My aunt assures us she never goes hungry and really enjoys the food. My aunt does not join many activities preferring the quiet of her own room and comfort of her own chair. Communication at Edwardstowe has improved in recent months. Edwardstowe remains a good, well-run care home.

In an ideal world, we would have kept our 98-year-old mother at home with carers but it came to a point where she needed 24-hour care after three falls at home. We looked at other local care homes but immediately we visited Edwardstow Court we felt it was right for mum. The building is so light with lovely decor. Whilst mum initially didn't understand why she was there and wanted to go home, after three months she has settled well and is content and feels safe. All the management and carers are excellent and we feel reassured that mum has company and is in the very best place for her. We visit very often as we live nearby and feel we are part of the team looking after her.
