Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
The staff at Ermine House are very friendly, caring, and helpful. They supported my sister with compassion and respect. Nothing was too much trouble, and she made some friends whilst she was being cared for. The food was lovely, and they encouraged her to eat, although she lost her appetite, sometimes
even going off the menu to make her something she liked.

We're delighted to hear that your sister felt well cared for and supported with compassion and respect here at Ermine House. My mother Shirley, spent one week in Apple Trees from 16/02/26 to 22/02/26. She was warmly welcomed for respite following two hospital visits. She was very frail and passed away with dignity. All the staff and carers were exemplary. The kindness, support and genuine warmth were very impressive. Mum's
room and the general decor of the home were excellent. The care home is light and airy. Nothing was too much trouble. Myself and the wider family were welcomed throughout each day and treated with great kindness when mum passed away. Excellent. Thank you.

Due to mobility issues, sadly Mum has had to go into residential care which obviously is a huge trauma in itself losing independence. After several episodes of excellent respite care at Apple Trees, Mum was happy to be there permanently when there was no possibility of returning home.
Rooms are generous
and have a large en-suite. Mum has small bits of her own furniture, lamps, pictures etc to make it feel like home. The whole team are brilliant! Care staff are patient and kind and are always willing to listen if there are any concerns. Everyone is friendly and approachable, food is excellent and there is a calendar of activities monthly for residents to participate in if they wish but no pressure. There's a beautiful garden too, a bar and 'cafe' area all of which are well maintained and clean. I would highly recommend this lovely residential home

My husband spent the final days of his life in this care home, and I cannot speak highly enough of the care he received. The staff showed him great compassion, dignity, and respect, and they were meticulous in managing his pain and comfort right through to the end. Just as importantly, they looked after
mine and my families needs as well, offering kindness, reassurance, and support during an incredibly painful time. As a family we will always be thankful for the care and humanity shown to us.

The home is friendly, inviting and they were part of our family. There was always plenty of activities and if grandad did not like it, he
would go for a cigarette. He enjoyed his time at gregory house and we could not of wished for a better home

Mum moved into Foxby Court for respite care in Mid-November following a fall at home and breaking her wrist. Mum is a strong willed independant lady of 89 and still very sharp - she loved it so much at Foxby Court she decided to want to stay on a permanent basis. The home is spotlessly clean, the staff
from carers to cleaners to management are excellent, caring, professional, helpful and supportive, the food is excellent, the faciltiies excellent. For Mum wanting to stay speaks volumes of the home and the staff that make it what it is - excellent. Thank you.

Gregory House

from Margaret D (Partner of Resident) published on 29 January 2026

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My partner has excellent care from all the staff, demonstrated most recently when he has been quite ill. He is surrounded by kindness and encouragement, concern and optimism. Staff have popped in to his room with cheerful smiles and friendly comments.
The Manager is very approachable and I find
it valuable to share her experience concerning my partner's care.
There is a wide variety of activities for residents to enjoy and become involved in throughout the year. My partner particularly enjoys music of all genres (classical and popular). He loves being entertained by the weekly singers, and occasionally by an opera singer. The choir, of which he is a former member, has been invited to perform in the home. My partner enjoys flower and vegetable gardening in the grounds during the spring and summer months.
Staff take time and consideration to match hobbies so that residents remain stimulated and active. A friendly atmosphere where residents physical and mental wellbeing matter.

We honestly couldn't have asked for a better place for my dad. From the moment he arrived, the care, kindness and respect shown to him, and to us as a family has been exceptional. The staff go above and beyond every single day, not just meeting his needs but genuinely caring about his wellbeing, comfort
and happiness. There is such a warm, welcoming atmosphere throughout the home, and it's clear that everyone takes pride in what they do. Communication with the family is excellent, and it gives us real peace of mind knowing my dad is safe, supported and treated with dignity. Thank you to the whole team for everything you do, your compassion and dedication truly make all the difference.
