Digby Court

I am the granddaughter of a resident who was in this care home for about 4 months, I can only say that the care was absolutely shocking, she spent so much time being shipped away in an ambulance to hospital due to falls and carers not being vigilant, she also broke her wrist and once the bone had healed the cast was not removed while it was literally disgusting and brown from god only knows what, she had a fall in which nobody found her for a while and she hit her head twice and ended up In hospital yet again but I think it's truely disgusting that an 84 year old women with severe Alzheimer's who the care home was aware that she was a fall risk was left on her own for so long. Also we found her teeth under the bed and nobody knew about that, she was left to sleep in urine soaked sheets and the covers were just pulled up to cover it so clearly the carers were aware. We found her unconscious in a chair at the entrance of the care home. No one knew how long she was there.

Digby Court is quiet, peaceful and safe. The staff are kind and considerate. They are responsive to requests and they communicate well. Family are made to feel welcome and there is always a cup of tea!

The staff have some difficult and testing times with my partner but have managed her superbly.

Carers are fantastic, cannot ask any more of them. Always smiling, even under pressure. Room always spotless. Good selection of food, always seems to be a drinks trolley circulating. Always welcoming and I never feel out of place visiting.

All the staff at Digby Court have been kind, courteous and caring when dealing with my mother, and helpful with any inquiries I have, always happy to help. Although at times it may appear more staff are required, those employed cope very well.

Staff generally very good. All Dad's needs achieved and completed with efficiency by a happy team. Weekend staff appear to be very stretched. Personally haven't witnessed many activities.

Very kind and professional from first phone call from us. All members of staff approachable, helpful and kind. As my father-in-law has only been at Digby Court for a short time it's difficult to say a lot but we are satisfied with all that is happening with our member of family. Weekends do however seem to be short-staffed, we feel bad for the lovely team.

Absolutely lovely home. Our uncle has stayed in several places before coming here. He has never been happier. The staff are lovely so is the food. The care he receives is excellent. The best home.. Thank You

All the staff are lovely friendly and welcoming. They can't do enough with granddad and he is well looked after and safe. We are so grateful for all their love and support of granddad.

Very happy on the whole, maybe at weekends staffing levels could be better. If I have a problem I have a conversation with management which gets resolved.

I am very pleased with the care that my mum receives at Digby Court. The staff are very caring and helpful. My mum is very happy and enjoys the activities that are arranged. Digby Court has a welcoming feel and all visitors are also made to feel welcome.

When we moved mum to Digby Court we were met by warm friendly staff who helped settle her into her new surroundings. The room was always clean and tidy. Mum was always dressed well and the staff were also amazingly good with our father when he visited or called. When mum had her stroke and eventually passed the staff showed wonderful compassion to us all. I have always said how wonderful this home is when talking about care homes, and would highly recommend this home to anyone.

Knowing mum is being cared for day and night in a kind, respectful and caring manner is our main priority. The staff are doing a wonderful job which must be very challenging with the diverse needs of all the residents. Though mum can no longer communicate coherently, she's always calm and relaxed when we visit which reassures us that she's happy in her world.

My brother-in-law stays here and the staff are always helpful to us and they do lots of activities which keep residents active. If we are concerned we can ring and they put our minds at rest. This is so virtual when we live so far away. They mark residents' birthdays with a cake and at lunchtime residents can have alcohol with their meal it certainly is a home-from-home.

My brother is well looked after and seems happy with himself. He suffers from vascular dementia so he has mood swings now and again but this does not seem to be a major problem to carers. There are a few problems with clothing being lost, I have labelled most of his things but I very often find him wearing other people's clothes. I realise this can be a problem when things are in the wash. The staff are always polite and smiling and if anything is wrong I am always informed A.S.A.P. I think for care and support my brother could not get anything better for the price.

My husband goes to Digby Court for respite and daycare. He has always been a very quiet, private man and as a family, we were very apprehensive about putting him into a care home, for even short periods. However, he settled in very quickly, he particularly enjoys the meals and actually asked to be there in time for breakfast. There is a welcoming atmosphere and the staff are kind, friendly and engage with the residents. I have nothing but praise for Digby Court.

The care home staff take excellent care of my mother-in-law. When I telephone to speak to my in-law, they make sure she hears me as she is hard of hearing and has dementia. They keep us informed if there are any health issues. Visiting in person, they are very welcoming and attentive. They did have an entertainment manager who left, which meant there was no Christmas party in 2023. The 2022 was the last one and you could see the residents thoroughly enjoyed themselves and really helped those with dementia. Would be nice if this year the care home could do activities to stimulate those with dementia.

Today I had to shave him as it had not been done for four days. He has plenty of clothes but often I have to ask for things. Not enough laundry staff.
