Based on a recent family visit and an in-depth discussion of current health issues, the senior carer spent a great deal of time ensuring the continued support and care of our father. Their communication with the family is very good and they are very swift in tackling any health issues as they arise.
Their rigorous safety regime has kept residents safe from Covid-19 and is to be applauded.

Digby Court is an extremely friendly and caring home that has actually exceeded the family's expectations. They not only take care of the residents but are also very mindful of other members of the family and are always willing to help where possible. Although not the most modern of facilities, it makes
up for this in its homeliness. The staff go about their business in a jolly manner, that makes a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. The family have never regretted the decision to place their loved one in Digby Court.

My mum moved into Digby Court from hospital at the beginning of lockdown in Feb/March 2020. It was awful not being able to see her but I need not have been worried about her care - the team at Digby has been brilliant. They are kind, caring and compassionate, and are doing an excellent job in very difficult
circumstances. Their sense of humour is ever-present. I look forward to getting to know them better when this horrible covid situation changes and would like to say a big thank you to them all!

I thought when I was asked to fill in this form it would be difficult as my experience of care homes was nil until my mum was admitted to Digby Court but it is not the case as the home is very well run and organised, where the staff are so friendly and caring, nothing is too much trouble for them even
though they all seem so busy all the time.
I could say more but I think what I have said tells it all "Run very well" "Cared for very well".
The home is excellent and the staff are great. They are doing an excellent job in very difficult times.

My 90-year-old mother was admitted to Digby Court suffering from a state of confusion and paranoia. I was extremely pleased with the care she received and would have no hesitation in recommending Digby Court. Due to the lovely care she received, she was lucky enough to return to her own home. A big
thank you to Digby Court.

I know I may be biased BUT I really must recommend this care home!
Staff had a challenging time in 2017 with lack of a manager however they now have a new manager who in mine and in many residents and family members opinion is the perfect lady for the job. Staff are amazing and a huge credit to the
home. Residents are cared for as if they were their own family and I must say you really do get that sense of belonging to "the Digby family" when entering the home which is a huge relief for any family member. Digby is definitely the home to watch with their changes to daily activities, one to one activities as well as group activities. Staff are always up to date with the latest training and support. Plus the menu changes look, smell and taste delightful, it's lovely how they involve everyone in the home with regards to changes, ideas, tasting new menus and much more.
If your not sure if Digby is for you why not drop by, I can assure you that you'll leave the home wanting to visit again.

Digby Court is a very caring and compassionate care home manager and staff are helpful, cheerful and take pride in their work. In my view this is a special care home that you can be confident will take care of you, or your loved ones with compassion, understanding and attending to the small details
which are important for seniors. I would thoroughly recommend Digby Court from my experience with my mother's respite care recently.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.312)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.312) out of 10 for Digby Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 13 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.487 for Digby Court is calculated as follows: ( (92 Excellents x 5) + (42 Goods x 4) + (18 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 152 Ratings = 4.487
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.825 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Digby Court is based on 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.825
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 36 registered maximum number of service users is 7.2, which has been reached with 13 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

We get to know them, and they get to know us. This includes their loved ones who visit, too. Growing up, I experienced my Grandma living with Alzheimer's; she lived in a care home for the last 8 years of her life. I just want to do my best to see all residents feel at home and safe.”
