Michaela is the Home Manager at Digby Court. She has over 10 years of experience in the care industry.
Michaela joined the Trust in 2021 after relocating to Lincolnshire from Rutland, where she worked in a care home for 5 years. She worked her way up from Care Assistant to Senior Care Assistant in just under a year. Whilst also gaining her NVQ Level 2 and 3 qualifications in Health and Social Care. Michaela is currently completing her Level 5 QCF in Health and Social Care.
Michaela joined the Trust as a Night Lead, and after just a few months, she moved up to the Head of Care role. Michaela was the Interim Home Manager at Digby Court from August 2023, before becoming the permanent Home Manager in March 2024. Michaela is a Safeguarding Ambassador for the Home and is keen to continue developing her knowledge and skills.
Michaela has always had a passion for care. She said: “I enjoy working in a care home as the residents become family, creating a home from home environment. We get to know them, and they get to know us. This includes their loved ones who visit, too. Growing up, I experienced my Grandma living with Alzheimer's; she lived in a care home for the last 8 years of her life. I just want to do my best to see all residents feel at home and safe.”
Michaela took some time out from October 2024 to September 2025 when she had her daughter, Lyra. She is happy to be back at work doing what she loves, learning to balance her professional life alongside her new role as Mum.
Michaela has recently become a National Trust member, enjoying visiting the Historic Sites that Britain has to offer. She also enjoys visiting different aquariums, and both her Husband and Daughter love the water. She takes her daughter swimming at the weekend and enjoys quality family time.
Kayleigh started her working career in the RAF, where she met her husband and had her two boys. She has lived all over the country and has now settled in Bourne. Kayleigh has mainly worked in logistics and administration roles before embarking on her career with the OSJCT here at Digby Court.
We asked Kayleigh what she likes about working in the care industry, and here's what she said, "I enjoy my role here at Digby Court as Admin. Whilst my primary role is administration duties, I am also involved with ensuring the well-being and care of the residents. Knowing you’re making a difference in their daily lives, even behind the scenes, can be very fulfilling. I get to interact with the residents, their families and the staff. Forming these connections and knowing you’re part of a supportive environment for both the staff and residents is very rewarding."
