Staff have always been prepared to go the extra mile for residents and their guests. They do all they can to make the home feel safe, secure and comfortable. Staff have been very responsive to my wife's dietary needs and her own daily rhythm.

Overall Experience
Mum moved into Icknield Court about 9 months ago. This was a stressful time for all but it was impossible to provide the care and safety mum needed at home. The staff at Icknield Court were excellent in caring for mum and putting us at our ease. Mum quickly acclimatised to the new environment very much helped by the approach of the staff.
From a "client" perspective the management has always been effective but the new manager (Michael) has already made some positive improvements. Communication improvement is particularly noticeable and this is of benefit to residents, staff and family members.
The environment is always clean, staff genuinely care and take the time, where they can, to go that extra mile. Additionally there are core staff members who provide consistency and are great role models for newer staff. This in my view makes a big difference both to the residents and to staff morale.

Thanks Icknield Team - you are doing a great job!

My mother joined Icknield court 12 weeks ago and yes there has been a few problems. Michael became the manager a few weeks ago and since has taken over I'm so pleased and grateful. Yes he still has some issues to address but honestly he will get things sorted. Thank you Michael for everything

Arrived to to hear staff talking about the home bring understaffed and having to cover care duties and cleaning.

This is not a one off since the transfer of ownership staffing levels are shocking at weekends with it appears the excuse being not fully occupied house do not get full staff.

Farnham Common House or Orders of St John Care Trust! Has improved massively since the new management team have been in place.
I feel like our concerns are being listened to. Their only priority is the resident and it hasn't always been this way in the past.

The carers that look after my mum are amazing. The cleaners also do a fantastic job.

The team at Icknield Court are providing great care for my Mum, who has been there for eight months. I can't thank them enough. I visit a lot, so see all the carers regularly - they are amazing and work so hard. They are also good with me as I am still able to be involved with Mum's care when possible. It is such an adjustment for everyone.

Review of Lewin House from Christine L (Friend of Resident) published on 7 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
We cannot thank the team at Lewin House enough for the kindness, care and dignity they showed Des during his time with them. From the moment Des arrived we felt that the staff genuinely cared about him. They were warm, patient and approachable, and always treated him as an individual rather than simply as a resident.
The staff did their very best to make him comfortable, keep us informed and support us as a family. Their compassion during his final days meant more to us than we can properly express, and it gave us great comfort to know that he was somewhere safe, cared for and surrounded by kindness.

We will always be grateful to Katie and the whole team at Lewin House for everything they did for Des. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Saskia and Christine x

My dad arrived a fortnight ago and we are very pleased. The home is light and airy and on the whole maintained well. we have been very impressed by the new manager Michael. Michael has some great vision for the home and is very friendly and approachable. He is setting high standards and the level of care dad is receiving is respectful and kind. Review of Farnham Common House from Jennifer H (Wife of Resident) published on 30 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My husband went into Farnham common house in June 2026. It was a hard choice to make I felt guilty and also felt that I was deserting him . The first week was awful for us all. My husband took just over a week to settle. He's really calm and settled. He has accepted it as his home and tells me as long as we visit he's happy. I can't thank all the staff enough everyone of them can't do enough . I know that is why my husband is so happy and settled. If we have had any hiccups they have gone out of there way to sort them out quickly. Last thing I felt put out because my husband was more happy and settled than he was at home (been married 58 years) there again the staff put me right and reassured me.

Review of Lent Rise House from B B (Daughter of Resident) published on 22 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Both my parents had to go into temporary respite care at fairly short notice whilst repairs were carried out that their home. Lent Rise House facilities and staff were excellent. Mum and Dad were treated with great respect and kindness for the whole of there stay. The staff were very attentive and also extended that kindness and reassuring support to us a family in what was a very stressful time. Very clean comfortable accommodation with lots of activities and beautiful lounge and gardens for them to enjoy also. Medical support was excellent and we cannot speak highly enough of the staff.

A big belated thank you everyone at Lent Rise whose care and kindness to us all was wonderful we cannot speak highly enough of the facilities care and support they gave us during a very stressful time.

Review of Farnham Common House from Kate T (Granddaughter of Resident) published on 15 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
I visited my grandmother on 3rd July, this was my first visit. I was sad to see her sitting in a day room chair with other residents doing nothing. A carer was in the kitchen cleaning and another was sat in the day room scrolling on her phone. The residents had just the tv on.

I asked a carer if I could take my nan out to the garden and needed her wheelchair, she proceeded to point to a cupboard that was locked expecting that I knew what to do. I found another carer who then opened it for me. I took my nan to the garden for an hour. She said she is bored and that she would love to come into the garden more, but no one can bring her as they are too short staffed. I brought her back into the day room and on my way through there was a carer lying with her shoes on the sofa on her phone. I was appalled to see this. The carers seem disinterested and I am not sure why they can't sit and do activities with the residents. The residents look bored and it was sad to see.

The overall experience of the Henley boat trip was excellent. The only "problem" was that of roadwork delays and totally out of anyones control. Lovely relaxing experience. Lucy, the captain explained about the river, countryside, using a large map to show people. Care home staff had relevant medication drinks and snacks for residents needs.
