The overall experience of the Henley boat trip was excellent. The only "problem" was that of roadwork delays and totally out of anyones control. Lovely relaxing experience. Lucy, the captain explained about the river, countryside, using a large map to show people. Care home staff had relevant medication
drinks and snacks for residents needs.

This is a 1st class care home . The Nurses and carers are 1st rate and great at their jobs. A special mention to Sonika nuse
Excellent nurse and communication.
The activity team are also 1st class.
My only concern is that the reception is not always manned which means access is sometimes very hard
this said Gemma the day time receptionist is very welcoming and knowledgeable.

My mother has been at Cherry Garth for nearly two years now. The quality of care is very good, and my mum is very happy and safe. The staff, in particular, are very caring. Yesterday she attended a picnic in the local sensory garden in Holmer Green along with a number of the residents; she really enjoyed
the activity.

The care for my mother was and is exceptional, staff have worked tirelessly to improve her mental and physical state to good effect. She is now back on her feet and is enjoying her time again. Her room is always clean and tidy even if the odd item that does not belong to her ends up squirrelled away
in her cupboards. But I fear that is more to do with my mother mistaking items to be hers rather than the rightful owner.

I visited my friend Michael after 2 years, I can't tell you the difference he has now, he is so much better, and he said he is well looked after. I met the manager who has been there for two years now and he knows Michael very well which is a nice experience as most times they don't know the residents.

My mother in law has been in here over a year now and she is extremely well looked after. The staff are caring and kind. This home is comfortable and well run. Lots of different activities. Even when my mother in law is unwell the staff respond quickly, liaise with the doctors surgery and inform us
promptly. The garden and the main reception area are a great asset.

My mother is extremely well looked after both physically and mentally by some wonderful staff who really care. The entire staff (carers, entertainment, kitchen staff, cleaners, management and handymen) are all really friendly to both residents and visitors.Residents are treated like a member of family by
many of the carers and they really do go the extra mile with them. I had visited 3 other homes before attending Sir Aubrey Ward but this was the one where all of the staff were making the effort to be cheerful and helpful to everybody. It was the deciding factor for me in choosing where my mother would be best cared for.The residents rooms were the largest I'd seen at any of the homes and I was impressed with the meals, cakes and desserts provided which are prepared fresh each day by the kitchen staff from scratch.Much better than the microwave meals full of salt and preservatives that my mother had been eating previously. The home strives for continuous improvement always.

Fremantle Court

from Marcus P (Son of Resident) published on 11 June 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Ten months ago, at the age of 99, Mum decided she was no longer able to live independently and chose to move into care. After my wife and I visited six or seven local care homes, we selected Fremantle Court as the best option.

The staff and carers have been brilliant, helping Mum make the difficult

adjustment to living in care. They have been patient and supportive, both to Mum and to the entire family.

Every time I visit Mum, she tells me how lucky she is to have so many people looking out for her, and how wonderful the care she receives is.

The wing she is in feels so relaxed. It is kept very clean, has different spaces for residents to use, and feels very homely.

I would like to thank everyone involved in Mum's care, from the carers and admin team right through to the maintenance staff. I would recommend Fremantle Court to anyone looking for a safe, positive environment for their elderly loved one.

My mother was a resident at Fremantle Court for over 4 years and died here at the end of May. I was always happy with her care. The home offers a good range of activities, and the activities team are very proactive. The home has a cosy, homely feel, and the values are good. The home's proximity to the
hospital is a real strength, as there are excellent liaison arrangements between the two. The team worked hard to keep my mum at the home as she neared the end. In her last days, she was treated with outstanding compassion and gentleness, as was I.

Mulberry Court is such a special haven. My mum came for 2 weeks respite but was so happy here, she decided to stay and become a resident. And that's a minor miracle considering she did not want to go any where!

The staff are all so caring and lovely. They absolutely bond with anyone staying here

and are passionate about making them as comfortable as possible. Emma the Home Manager, is dedicated to her role 24/7. She leads this home not only with a huge amount of heart but also years of care knowledge - you couldn't ask for a better combination!

There's an extremely peaceful feel to Mulberry Court and it really is a home from home environment. Gorgeous garden as well.

The food is amazing quality and a varied menu. Plus they will do whatever they can to accommodate any special dietary needs or wishes. Paula even went out to the shops to buy my mum some kippers as that's what she was craving that day!

The home could be so much better which is a shame. Cleanliness should be a priority for all and sometimes the smell is far from pleasant. The lift is a joke. So many issues and slow to repair. My grandfather missed Christmas and Easter celebrations due to being stuck. Unforgivable. I don't feel that
excellence comes from the top (be that within the home or at a higher level). Needs significant improvement. Some staff members are wonderful.
Reply from Francisco Paes, Home Manager at Cherry GarthThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I am sorry that your experience has not reflected the standards we set for ourselves and strive to deliver.

We understand the concerns raised regarding the lift. Unfortunately, the repair required specialist parts, and we worked closely with our suppliers to obtain these and complete the necessary repairs as quickly as possible. During this time, measures were put in place to support residents safely and minimise disruption wherever possible.

I am pleased to confirm that the lift is now fully operational.

We take all feedback seriously and would welcome the opportunity to discuss your experience further. Please feel free to pop in and speak with me directly, or alternatively, we will be in touch to arrange a conversation.

Thank you again for bringing your concerns to our attention.

Whenever I visit it always seems understaffed. Room is grubby, had to sweep floor today. Kitchen is always grubby at weekends and floor sticky. Food is unappetising- tinned soup or sandwiches or crumpets for dinner! Had to wait outside building after ringing the the bell for at least 10 minutes.
Reply from Mia Harris, Deputy Manager at Sir Aubrey Ward HouseThank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. I am so sorry to hear that your recent experience did not meet the high standards of care we continually strive to provide. Please accept my sincere apologies regarding the concerns you have raised around cleanliness, response times, and the dining experience. We take all feedback such as this very seriously and appreciate you bringing these matters to our attention. Please rest assured our staffing levels are based upon an industry wide dependency assessment tool and remain within safe numbers, and the home is always fully staffed. I will be speaking directly with our Head Housekeeper and Catering Team regarding the concerns highlighted to ensure these areas are reviewed appropriately and our standards remain consistently high throughout the home. Your feedback is important to us all and helps us continue to improve the experience for both our residents , their families , and other visitors to our Home.
