I think Watersmead is such a wonderful place it doesn't feel like the typical care home. I love that most of the residents are in the day room watching tv sitting in chairs instead of their rooms alone. All the staff are such positive, happy and inviting people and it makes you feel that your family
is being well looked after, my Nan always looks very well presented and content, her room is always clean and tidy. I would recommend Watersmead to everyone.
Reply from Steve Gardner-Collins, On behalf of the team at WatersmeadWe are delighted to hear that Watersmead feels like a home rather than a typical care setting. It means a great deal to know that you see our residents enjoying time together and that our team's positive, welcoming approach helps provide reassurance that loved ones are receiving the care and support they deserve. We are especially pleased to hear that your Nan is happy, well presented, and comfortable in her surroundings. Our team works hard to create a warm, caring environment where residents can thrive, and your kind words are a real encouragement to everyone at Watersmead. Thank you for your recommendation and for taking the time to share your experience. It is truly appreciated.

My wife attends the daycare centre once a week. There is a great feeling of homeliness and care. The staff are very professional and always available to provide feedback relating to my wife's involvement with activities. The management team have been particularly helpful and supportive. I feel very
confident that my wife will be treated with dignity and given excellent care. Dur to my wife's dementia, she can't provide feedback of her day, but always leaves the daycare happy and content.
Reply from Steve Gardner-Collins, On behalf of the team at Bemerton LodgeThank you for taking the time to share your experience with Bemerton Lodge. We are delighted to hear that your wife enjoys attending our day care centre and that you have found the atmosphere to be warm, welcoming, and homely. My friend has lived at Watersmead for three months. Staff were very welcoming and helpful when her move there was being organised. They have continued to be friendly, attentive and respectful of her wishes. The monthly newsletter is emailed to me, and it is evident that those who wish to join activities
are able to choose from a range of lovely sessions. My friend's room is clean, pleasantly furnished, light and comfortable. When I pointed out that her chair was not right for her stature and medical needs, it was changed. Staff are very alert to changes in my friend's health.
Reply from Harry Marsh, On behalf of the team at WatersmeadThank you for your kind review. We are also pleased that our colleagues were able to respond quickly to feedback and support your friend's individual needs. The care home has a real feel of home. With lovely seating areas, views of the pond and garden. A section for the TV. If residents want to mix or just be on their own it is catered for. The staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. They keep me informed of the smallest change regarding my father. They
will accomodate him with his likes and dislikes of food. I have no concerns with my father staying here. He and his room are always clean on visits.
Reply from Harry Marsh, On behalf of the team at WatersmeadThank you for your lovely feedback. We are always involved in what is happening in the care home and have regular quarterly updates of what is changing and plans for entertainment and trips.
Mum can be a bit difficult to manage at times but this is taken into account when dealing with her needs which are dealt with sympathy and consideration.
The
quality and variety of food is very good and everything is made from scratch in house. Staff in the kitchen are very helpful and always make a cup of tea when needed.
The admin support team also keep us advised of hair and chiropody costs and bank account balances etc.
We know mum is being taken care of which relieves the stress on us.
Many thanks to ALL the team

In response to the last unanswered review questions. By any standards, the home fee is eyewatering. But... on the other hand, I have now witnessed at first hand what happens in a care home. I see the generous ratio of staff to resident and how well trained they are, on all levels. I see how the staff
relate to each resident.
I have noticed the constant upkeep of the home and the behind the scene care, i.e. catering, laundry, office, etc. So I can also see where the money goes. I am eternally grateful for the care and expertise my mum is receiving as her health slowly declines. Thanks as well to the office, who keep my sisters and I fully informed.
Reply from Harry Marsh, On behalf of the team at Hayward Care CentreThank you for taking the time to share your thoughtful feedback. We truly appreciate your recognition of the dedication and hard work of our entire team, from our care staff to our catering, housekeeping, maintenance, and office colleagues. This was Mum's first respite care adventure with Avonbourne Care Centre, having stayed at another care home for respite care previously. While my sister takes time out from caring for mum 24/7 I visit with mum on a daily basis. It was a joy to arrive for my first visit as there was a smile on her face,
not just because I had arrived, but because she was enjoying her stay. From then until her time to return home, Mum couldn't praise the staff enough; she felt well cared for. Mum also joined in the entertainment made available on a daily basis, which was something she had not done because she usually remained in her room watching TV. That was a joy to hear about what she had been doing! We are hoping mum will be able to have further respite care at Avonbourne in the future! Thank you!

The 1st words that come to mind are kindness, gentle, professional, safe and trustworthy. I appreciate the regular updates on my mother's condition which has been challenging. The staff, and I mean ALL the staff, have been very respectful and thoughtful. The stress has been taken away from the family,
giving us valuable time to spend with our mother, that is priceless.
I think it is value for money and excellent medical care.

My sister has been in Bemerton Lodge for approximately 9 months, when she was first admitted, she was filthy and dishevelled and refusing all help, within days she was clean and had started to eat properly and interact with the staff and other residents taken part in organised activities. The change
in her are very noticeable, and I feel this is mainly due to the skills and perseverance of the staff.

Overall I'm pretty happy about care and attention given to the resident that I have the LPA for.
The carers are all very friendly and caring towards her.
I'm always greeted with a friendly smile , but I do want a small moan about the time it takes for someone to let you in (especially if it's raining)
it's been made worse by the change of entry before you used to able press the button and wait in the airlock and then press another button to let you in.
But now you have to wait for both doors to open before your let in (less safe than before)
Otherwise I've no complaints at all.
Reply from Harry Marsh, On behalf of the team at Ridgeway HouseThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are really pleased to hear that you are happy with the care and attention provided, and that you find our team friendly, caring, and welcoming. We also appreciate your comments regarding the entrance system, particularly the inconvenience during bad weather. We understand how frustrating this can be. Following your feedback, the home manager has reviewed the situation and a solution is already in progress, with the door expected to be fully functioning again in the next few weeks. Thank you again for your kind words and helpful feedback, it is greatly appreciated.

I am delighted that my mum has settled into The Ridgeway and feels so at home there.
The staff are wonderfully caring and thoughtful and work so hard to make her feel safe and looked after.
I always feel that the staff go above and beyond and are committed to addressing any issues be they little

My Mother has been at Bemerton Lodge for over 2 years. She is 94 years of age, suffering from Dementia and despite previously very happy in her Warden Assisted Accommodation she started "wandering" at night which became a risk, when she was found on a dual carrigeway in Salisbury.
She soon settled
in Bemerton Lodge, despite her dementia deteriorating, she always tells me how lovely the carers are, the food is also very good and most importantly she is safe & well cared for.
Reply from Harry Marsh, On behalf of the team at Bemerton LodgeThank you for sharing your experience and for trusting Bemerton Lodge with your mother's care over the past two years. We are so pleased to hear that she settled well with us and continues to feel happy and supported by our team. Knowing that she speaks so warmly about our carers and enjoys the food means a great deal to everyone here. Most importantly, we are glad that your mother feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for. Your kind words and support are truly appreciated and will be shared with the whole team.

Bemerton Lodge

Bemerton Lodge keeps me up to date on anything required for my sister in law's well being, ie. vaccinations permission required and are also supporting with a possible visit to hospital for dental treatment and current balance of her personal account for local purchases.
More importantly, the team
ensure she is safe, well and happy in her environment. Not once has she complained about her care and stay when we take her out. If she, or us, her family requires something, it is done. Whenever we visit, the staff team are welcoming, friendly and open. My sister in law and her family appreciate what they do for her.

From managerial to cleaning staff everybody was absolutely lovely. As a family we couldn't of asked for more, our dad's needs were highly catered to on every level. We were also treated with respect, queries answered, and requests carried out. We really would have no problem recommending Ashwood Care
Centre to anyone requiring excellent care.
