Ashwood Care Centre

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Mum was always treated with kindness and respect. All staff knew her name and mine. She was a resident for just short of 9 years until her death. She was living with dementia and could be challenging at times. I found the staff easy to talk to about any minor concerns I had. Her birthday and Christmas
were always celebrated and presents given. The food was excellent and was made easier for her to manage towards the end of her life. I would strongly recommend this care home.

As will be apparent from the table below, I have found all aspects of life and care at Seymour House to be good since I was admitted direct from hospitalisation in May 2022. The past 3 years have been difficult for all staff- short handed and overloaded but employees and volunteers are remarkably good
humoured and helpful "beyond the call of duty" inspite of the vagaries of national and local policy makers.

My mother spent a week of Respite care at Goodson Lodge. She had been rather poorly before she went in and I was amazed how much better she looked after only 2 days! All of the staff were very friendly and made her feel special, and her care was adapted to suit her abilities. She ate well and took part
in many of the daily and diverse activities, enjoying the social aspect of the home. The family had to fit our visits in to when she wasn't busy! She is already planning on going back for another 'holiday', possibly for longer.

The overworked staff at Hungerford House are amazing.
They are always kind, caring and attentive to residents' needs.
The staff have taken the time to get to know all the residents, fully understanding their individual needs and wants.
The activities available are diverse and entertaining, and again
appropriate to residents' needs.

My father has been in Coombe End for 10 weeks and generally it has been a positive experience. Sadly I cannot recommend this care home. My mother's basic needs were often not met. I have made numerous complaints both to the care home, the trust, care quality commission etc. daily carers are very good. Night time staff and managers are definitely not good. My mother passed away in the home and
an inquest is being held due to a fall shortly before her death. Quite frankly they must do better! Those who cared for mum during the day were compassionate and caring. Managers pretty clueless as were some care leads and overnight staff.

Buckland Court

Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5
Our dad was a resident here for about 8 months until his condition deteriorated and was admitted to hospital and then on to a nursing home. During his time here he received very poor personal care and little to no social stimulation. Lack of communication between staff and poor management led to many
distressing issues for our dad that could have been resolved if the family had been informed but this rarely happened. Dads clothes and personal items often went missing and not much effort was put into finding them despite being labeled, no explanation was ever given as to why this happened and it cost my dear mum a lot of money to keep replacing them.
Could never find staff, especially at weekends and they were never witnessed sitting with the residents for social interaction.
I would not recommend this place for your loved one unless some serious changes are made to management and a vast improvement on care.

My mother has been a resident of this lovely care home for 16 months. The carers are wonderful & I'm delighted with the level of care she receives. She enjoys many of the activities laid on, especially animal visits & anything musical. The menus are varied and tasty. Everything is kept clean. The decor
throughout the building is very pleasing & the garden pretty & well-kept. Her 91st birthday was celebrated with a cake & gifts. Knowing she is safe & so well-cared for gives me peace of mind every day.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I can't praise staff enough for their dedication over the 2 years Mum has been at Seymour House so far.
They are all so caring and really know Mum as a person, familiar with her likes and dislikes and make sure she gets what she needs to make her life happy.
She always looks well cared for, very content
and her health needs are met well met.

It is a well run home with a proactive team.
Families are made very welcome at visits even providing meals on request.
I am kept informed about changes or new care needs promptly for Mum. I can join in activities or contribute to meetings about the day to day management of the home.

They go out of their way to provide the best quality life she can have, encouraging her to join in activities and to socialise with residents.

It is a cosy, well maintained and tastefully furnished home with communal areas for residents to mix or sit quietly. The rooms have activities available and there is a wonderful events team too.

5 stars well deserved!

My mum has been placed in this care home for a month,
The staff are always welcoming, I love the fact we wash hands before all visits,
If mum is not happy we speak to staff or home manager and things are rectified,
Mum is always clean with hair washed and brushed, her room always smells nice.
She enjoys the food and loves to look out in the back garden,
Even though mum is bed bound their is loads of activities if mum wishes to take part, all carers are a great team and an asset to the care manager who is also amazing, any issues with health are always dealt with as soon as mentioned.

Overall experience was very positive. I felt well cared for and safe from the beginning. The ethos is very much 'behave as you would at home' with certain safety limits. It is a very open handed and generous.

The Cedars

My Mother, was at the Cedars Care Home Purton for just over 2 years. During this time, she thoroughly enjoyed being there. All the staff were friendly and considerate towards her, and she formed a special bond with some of them. There was always something going on, from monkeys, parrots and even small
ponies visiting to keep her interested and stimulated. The staff not only cared for my Mother, but also ensured we were coping as a family. Sadly my Mother passed away in May, just 12 days short of her 104th birthday. During her final few hours, the staff were outstanding with the care and dignity shown not only to her but us as a family during this difficult time. They are an outstanding team at the Cedars Purton for which I am forever grateful.

I find the carers very caring and professional even when dealing with sometimes troublesome residents and the people in charge run the care home very well ,all the staff seem happy in their work .its very clean and the food is good and appetizing. Every one at the cedars is very friendly to relatives
too ,nothing too much trouble.
