Willowcroft

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
The staff are excellent at this care home, they are very friendly and welcoming and always have time for a chat. I'm always informed and updated when anything happens with my dad medically. My dad is a very fussy eater and staff always give him alternative options if there aren't things on the menu
that he wants to eat.
Rooms are comfortable, again staff very accommodating with things my dad wants in his room, his room has been made very homely for him.
Reply from Steve Gardner-Collins, On behalf of the team at WillowcroftThank you so much for your wonderful review. We're delighted to hear that you've had such a positive experience with our team. Providing a friendly, welcoming environment where families feel informed and reassured is incredibly important to us, so it's lovely to know you feel well updated about your dad's care. It's also great to hear that our team has been able to accommodate your dad's preferences, especially when it comes to meals. We understand how important it is that residents enjoy their food, and we always aim to offer flexibility and choice wherever possible. We're so pleased that his room feels comfortable and homely too-creating a personal space that reflects each resident's needs and preferences is something we truly value. Thank you again for your kind words and for trusting us with your dad's care.

Marden Court

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
I visited my sister today and was pleasantly surprised to see her sitting in the lounge, as last week when I saw her she was in bed, quite poorly. She was looking forward to her lunch, and enjoys her food. Her new room is nicer than the previous one, not having to sit on the commode through lack of
space was certainly an improvement. The fact that each of the residents has to have a commode bothers me greatly, and I feel that in this it's a big problem.
Reply from Steve Gardner-Collins, On behalf of the team at Marden CourtThank you so much for your lovely feedback. We're delighted to hear that your sister is feeling better and was able to spend time in the lounge during your visit-that's always a positive sign. It's also wonderful to know she's enjoying her meals and looking forward to them. We're pleased that you're happy with her new room as well, and we hope it continues to provide her with comfort and a pleasant environment. Your kind words mean a great deal to our team, and we'll be sure to share your feedback with them. We of course take onboard all feedback, and review our services continually. Marden Court is an absolutely fantastic facility and care home - full of kind and supportive staff looking after the well-being of my aunt (Denise). The home has everything the residents could wish for - but it is the staff there who bring 'everything to life!'
I am so happy that my aunt is allocated
to Marden Court - following many years where my stress could have been helped- worrying about Denise's risk of falls, eating, general health and her wellbeing.
Reply from Steve Gardner-Collins, On behalf of the team at Marden CourtThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. It truly means a great deal to our entire team. We're delighted to hear that your aunt Denise is happy and well cared for at Marden Court. Providing a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment is at the heart of everything we do, and it's wonderful to know that this has helped ease your worries and given you peace of mind. Kind, compassionate staff, lots of activities, and my mum has been happy living here. Staff are always easy to talk to with any queries. They can be short-staffed, meaning mum isn't always showered every week, but is done as soon as enough staff are on duty.
Reply from Steve Gardner-Collins, On behalf of the team at Marden CourtThank you for taking the time to share your feedback about Marden Court. We are so pleased to hear that your mum is happy living with us and that you've found our team to be kind, compassionate, and approachable. Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
Facilities and care are excellent, activities are very good and suitable for residents that are elderly and those who have dementia. The only reason I have not given excellent in all areas, is that since the reorganisation, I miss the welcome from the manager/deputy on arriving, and feel that the extra
staff on arriving, and feel that the extra staff precedence was a bonus.
Reply from Steve Gardner-Collins, On behalf of the team at Avonbourne Care CentreThank you for taking the time to share your thoughtful feedback about Avonbourne Care Centre. We're really pleased to hear that you feel the facilities, care, and activities are of a high standard and well suited to both our elderly residents and those living with dementia. We also truly appreciate your honest comments regarding your experience since the recent reorganisation. Creating a warm, welcoming environment for everyone who visits is very important to us, and we understand how meaningful those personal greetings from the manager or deputy, as well as the additional staff presence can be. Your feedback has been shared with the team, and we will be reflecting on how we can continue to enhance the arrival experience for families and visitors. The care at Hungerford House is fantastic. The staff are kind, considerate and know all their residents well. My only complaint is that there needs to be more staff on duty. A lot of residents have deteriorated over time and have more needs that need more people to help them.

The Care Centre management are open and encouraged us to view the centre before we placed our relative into their care. The staff have all been professional and kind. The facilities are very clean. I have been impressed how well the staff care for my relative. And if more medical assistance is needed,
they act quickly. The food is home cooked and varied. It was a worrying time for my family, and Hayward Care Centre stepped in. I am so grateful for their kindness and excellent care. Thank you.

Mum came to Athelstan House in January 2024. She had started to deteriorate, becoming very depressed after the loss of Dad and living on her own. After a period of respite at Athelstan she decided not to go home, enjoying the company, activities, food and feeling safe. Mum has made a marked improvement
and is so much happier. The staff are great and the atmosphere is welcoming, we are extremely grateful
Reply from Steve Gardner-Collins, On behalf of the team at Athelstan HouseThank you so much for sharing your experience. We're truly delighted to hear how well your Mum has settled into life at Athelstan House.
Moving into a care home can be a big change, especially after such a difficult time following the loss of your Dad, so it's wonderful to know that the companionship, activities, food and supportive environment have helped her feel safe, happier and more at home. Seeing residents regain their confidence and enjoyment in daily life means a great deal to all of us. Your kind words about our team and the welcoming atmosphere are very much appreciated, and we'll be sure to share your feedback with the staff. Thank you for trusting us with your Mum's care - it means a lot to the whole team at Athelstan House.

My husband attends weekdays daily. Just before Christmas, I was out for lunch and was ill. Athelstan House kept my husband in to stay for 2 nights on very short notice and went to pharmacy for medication.

The dementia wing at Coombe End Court (Pearl) where my wife is a resident has a very friendly, welcoming ambience, as does the whole care home. The care team on Pearl are all very kind and gentle, nothing being too much trouble for those they are looking after. The management at CEC are a highly skilled
and motivated team who put the residents first, and are scrupulous in keeping the relatives well informed of everything concerning their loved one. The kitchen (and the food which emanates from it) is quite exceptional for a care home. In summary I remain beyond delighted with the way that CEC look after my wife.
