My mum always maintained that she would never go into a care home, but as her health deteriorated, she became extremely frail and vulnerable. After a long hospital stay, she moved into Willowcroft, and despite my anxiety about how she would settle in and mum's initial reluctance, she's adapted really
well. In my view, the staff were key. They are so warm, welcoming and kind. They always greet you with a smile, and nothing is too much trouble. They take great care to support mum in just the right way to meet her specific needs. I'm very happy mum is receiving such excellent care.
Reply from Steve Gardner-Collins, On behalf of the team at WillowcroftThank you for sharing such a heartfelt review. We understand how difficult and emotional it can be when a loved one transitions into care, especially when it's something they were initially reluctant about. We're so pleased to hear that your mum has settled well at Willowcroft and is feeling supported. Your kind words about our team mean a great deal. Providing warm, compassionate, and person-centred care is at the heart of everything we do, and it's wonderful to know that this has made a positive difference to both you and your mum. We'll be sure to pass your feedback on to the staff, who will be truly touched by your comments.

My husband has been in Willowcroft for 4 years he has been very well cared for in that time. The staff are friendly and caring treating people with kindness and dignity when they themselves have outbursts to content with from patients. I am always kept informed of any problems arising with my husband.
I have always found the home to be clean and welcoming.

My mother, a resident of Willowcroft, has vascular dementia, and I must say, the care she receives from the staff is above and beyond what her family could give her. It is sad to see one's mother with vascular dementia, and all the issues that encompasses, but to know she is in the best place to suit
her complicated needs, is safe, fed well, clean, and as healthy and happy as can be expected, is a godsend to her family. The staff do an excellent job, and cannot be praised enough. All the staff I have had dealings with at Willowcroft have been first class. Their work and dedication is very much appreciated by me and the rest of my family. Thank you, Willowcroft, for everything you do.
Reply from Steve Gardner-Collins, On behalf of the team at WillowcroftThank you so much for taking the time to share such a heartfelt review. We truly appreciate your kind words and are grateful for the trust you and your family have placed in us. We understand how difficult it can be to see a loved one living with vascular dementia, and it means a great deal to know that you feel reassured by the care your mother receives at Willowcroft. Supporting residents with complex needs in a safe, comfortable, and compassionate environment is always our priority. Your recognition of our team's dedication and compassion is incredibly important to us. We're proud to hear that your mother feels safe, well cared for, and as happy as possible, and that our staff have made such a positive impression on you and your family. Thank you again for your kind feedback, we will be sure to share your words with the whole team at Willowcroft.

Both my parents were in Willowcroft until the end of January, when my mother sadly passed away, the care shown by all the staff members was above and beyond their job description. The care shown to both my parents in the fortnight running up to mum passing was unbelivable, and also to myself and my
two brothers

My Mum has been at Willowcroft for many years now. During this time I have been extremely pleased with the level of service provided by professional, caring and dedicated staff members throughout the service. Mum has been supported to join daily activities, has eaten well, been looked after during
illness and overall she has been treated with respect and dignity by the friendliest and loving people a firm could hope to have as members of their staff. I am happy that my mum is being looked after around the clock and that all her needs are being met at a very high standard. Mums room is always clean and tidy and she is always having a chat or a giggle with the lovely staff. We are always informed of mums health and of any incidents.
Every time I visit, either with or without my husband, we are always greeted with a warm smile. We cannot thank the staff enough for what they do 24/7.
I would highly recommend Willowcroft and am so thankful that mum is being looked after there.
Reply from Steve Gardner-Collins, On behalf of the team at WillowcroftThank you so much for taking the time to share such a heartfelt review. It truly means a great deal to us. Every time I've been to see my dad I've had nothing but friendly and professional interaction with the staff, who show consideration and professionalism when they are dealing with what is sometimes very frustrating and difficult situations and am very happy with what is being provided for for my dad.
When I've contacted the management team I've had nothing but professional kindness and compassion with any inquiries I've had to make and once again could not be happier.

We celebrated our mother's 100th birthday in January and we were very delighted with the effort the staff made to facilitate a family party (21 of us) in Willowcroft. We were able to use the conservatory and they decorated the room for the occasion. They also provided glasses and plates etc although
we decided to bring our own catering needs ( they did offer to provide if we wanted). The staff were very helpful and caring ensuring getting mother ready for the party. The day was a great success.
My only slight disappointment was visiting the following week I noticed that all birthday cards and best wishes had been tidied away in a box ( no problem with that) with the exception of her birthday card from King Charles. Nobody seemed to know what had happened to it after it had been displayed on her window sill. Fortunately we have some photos of the card but there has been no signs of the actual card to date although the staff were asked to keep an eye out for it!
Reply from Steve Gardner-Collins, On behalf of the team at WillowcroftThank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are delighted to hear that your mother's 100th birthday celebration was such a special and successful occasion. It was a real pleasure for our team to be part of such a wonderful milestone, and we're so glad the conservatory, decorations, and support from staff helped make the day memorable for you and your family. Your kind words about the team's care and attentiveness, especially in helping your mother prepare for the celebration, mean a great deal to us. We are, however, very sorry to hear about the missing birthday card from His Majesty King Charles. We completely understand how special and sentimental this item is, and we sincerely apologise for any upset caused. Please be assured that we will continue to make enquiries with the team and keep a close eye out for it. If there are any updates, we will ensure you are informed straight away. Thank you again for your thoughtful feedback.

My father and mMother have been in Willowcroft for nine years and five years respectively. They have always been treated with the best care possible. The staff are always professional and friendly and make the home a very comfortable place for the residents to live. My mother sadly passed away at the
end of January she was 94. I cannot praise the staff highly enough for the excellent care they gave to mother for last ten days of her life as well as caring for my father I will be for ever grateful. I have written reviews several times over the years, that my parents have been residents the standards never drops.
The staff are a credit to the management. I always recommend this place as one of the best care homes in the area.

A Care Home that really does CARE. They really look after my mum. It's clean, welcoming and I feels like a home. I really cannot fault the care and support the team give at Willowcroft and wish another relative of mine at another care home had the care mum has and to such a high standard. I wouldn't

Willowcroft is an excellent care home and my mum seems very happy there. The staff are caring and must have the patience of a saint. My only gripe is my mum is on the first floor, but unfortunately two of her best friends are now down on the ground floor, and one she went to school with; occasionally
mum would ask for them and thinks are are dead. I am not sure why they were taken down but personally I think it was a bit cruel for mum and her friends.
Reply from Steve Gardner-Collins, On behalf of the team at WillowcroftThank you very much for your kind words about Willowcroft. We're so pleased to hear that your mum is happy with us and that you've found our team to be caring and supportive-it truly means a lot. We're also really sorry to hear about your concerns regarding your mum's friends moving to the ground floor. We completely understand how upsetting and confusing this can feel for both residents and their families, especially when those friendships are so important. Please be assured that any decisions about room moves are made with residents' individual care needs, safety, and wellbeing in mind. That said, maintaining meaningful relationships is equally important to us. We would really welcome the opportunity to speak with you and explore ways we can help your mum stay connected with her friends, whether through supported visits or shared activities. Thank you again for your feedback-it helps us to continually improve the care and support we provide.

The staff are excellent at this care home, they are very friendly and welcoming and always have time for a chat. I'm always informed and updated when anything happens with my dad medically. My dad is a very fussy eater and staff always give him alternative options if there aren't things on the menu
that he wants to eat.
Rooms are comfortable, again staff very accommodating with things my dad wants in his room, his room has been made very homely for him.

Mum has been in Willowcroft since being compelled to leave her home after a fall, being admitted to hospital first, then welcomed to Willowcroft on a permanent basis. Mum was self sufficient at home and, having lived there for 70 years, it was a very tough time for her and the family in accepting what
was, really, unavoidable.
However, 5 months later, Mum has settled very well, and is comfortable, warm, fed, & watered very satisfactorily. I personally feel she is actually better off in the home as it takes all the pressures away of living on her own at a very old age. The staff, without exception, are always very willing to help with whatever is necessary in making the residents feel at home.
Thank you to all the carers & management at Willowcroft for your efforts to ensure Mum's happiness & acceptance of the situation. All of the family are at ease now as we know the care for our dear old Mum is exemplary.
Reply from Steve Gardner-Collins, On behalf of the team at WillowcroftThank you so much for taking the time to share this heartfelt review. As a family we wanted to let you know what an excellent experience our mum and we had during the two and half years she was resident in Willow Croft care home before passing in February.

We can't fault the care and support our mum received from the team at Willow Croft.

Having not had experience

of carehomes, we weren't sure what to expect, however we quickly realised mum was in the right place and was getting the professional, friendly and loving support that she needed.

All the staff that we met were always caring and understanding even when mum could be a little difficult, and there were particular members of the team who went the extra mile and we felt mum had a special place in their hearts. They made her stay there more engaging and comfortable than we had expected.

We wanted to let you know how amazing they were, which not only made mums last few years and days as good as they could have been, but also supported us as a family throughout, making it easier to deal with.

Reply from Rhiannon Freeman-Gray, on behalf of the team at WillowcroftThank you so much for sharing this review - your kind words mean a lot to the whole team. Dad moved in Jan 25 and he settled straight away. He seems to be very happy there. The staff are excellent and the support they've shown has been great.
Keep the good work up all at Willowcroft.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.689) out of 10 for Willowcroft is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 32 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.689 for Willowcroft is calculated as follows: ( (266 Excellents x 5) + (82 Goods x 4) + (14 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 363 Ratings = 4.689
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Willowcroft is based on 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 42 registered maximum number of service users is 8.4, which has been reached with 32 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
