My Aunt moved in to Willowcroft in January and settled in really quickly with the help of lovely carers. She loves her little room which looks out over the garden and is enjoying her food . She now has other people to socialise with which she did not have when living on her own.
Reply from Rhiannon Freeman-Gray, Regional Marketing Manager at WillowcroftThanks ever so much for this lovely review. We're so glad that your aunt has settled in well and that you're so happy with the care she's receiving. If there's ever anything more we can do for you or your aunt, please just let us know.

My mother and father-in-law have resided at Willowcroft for several years. They are comfortable and happy here and are always well looked after by the staff, who are very attentive, caring, cheerful and friendly. In fact the staff recently helped my in-laws celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary by
providing a buffet and entertainment for family and friends (and of course fellow residents) in the beautiful garden and sun-room. It's comforting to know that they are being treated so well.
Reply from Rowen Campbell, on behalf of the team at WillowcroftWe're delighted that your mother and father-in-law are so happy with us here at Willowcroft and it's lovely to see them both settled. My mum and dad are both residents and have been there for more than three years. The staff are very friendly and caring, always taking time to keep us up to date with our parents' wellbeing. Willowcroft seems to be a very happy place for both residents and staff (this is very evident when you walk through
the front door.). I would have no problem in recommending this care home to others. Thank you for your continuous efforts and high standards.

Grandparents seem as content here as they could be in a care home. Staff don't seem fake around visitors, and maintain cheer. Place has always seemed clean and happy. Activities include 'how many words can be made from the letters in 'UNFORTUNATE''.

Willowcroft is one of the best care homes in the area. It's got friendly staff and caring staff. It's situated just five minutes from the city centre. It's looked after many residents over the years and I would always recommend it to anyone who wants their elderly families to be taken care of by their
kind and friendly staff.

I regularly visit a friend in Willowcroft and she is happy there. The staff always make me feel welcome and I have enjoyed playing Bingo. The home is clean, there is always a nice tumble dryer smell at the front door. I haven't ticked all the ratings as some elements are not relevant to me.

My in-laws have been residents at Willowcroft for a few years now and I have always felt that they have been very well cared for. The staff are warm and welcoming to residents and visitors and keep the family up to date.
Last weekend Willowcroft hosted a party to celebrate my in-law's 70th Wedding
Anniversary for 20 family and friends. A couple of members of staff, who were off duty, also came in to celebrate with us. Willowcroft also arranged to have a singer to entertain everyone.

My mom and dad had their 70th wedding anniversary party last Saturday, the home as per usual excelled. They laid on a singer to come up and sing songs from all residents' eras which they all enjoyed then a buffet was laid on.
My father has been a resident here for 7 years and my mother for 3 years
since they have been here they have been treated to a very high standard and are very happy. The staff are very caring and treat them like their family. I would recommend Willowcroft to anyone thinking of placing a loved one in care.

My wife has been a resident at Willowcroft for almost three years, and apart from the first six months due to covid restrictions, I have been able to visit every week. I do not have any experience of other care homes but I would have no problem recommending Willowcroft.

My mother moved in earlier this year after having had a stroke and extended hospital stays which left her unsettled and fearful of change. The staff made her feel safe and she settled in quickly. The home facilitated her rehab and visits from social services, helped with confusing paperwork, and medical
appointments, helped us host a surprise birthday party and lots of other things that made mum's transition easier. The staff are helpful and approachable and the rooms are clean and well presented. There are a few pets which makes it homely and a nice place to be in the summer with the gardens.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.689)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.689) out of 10 for Willowcroft is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 32 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.689 for Willowcroft is calculated as follows: ( (266 Excellents x 5) + (82 Goods x 4) + (14 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 363 Ratings = 4.689
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Willowcroft is based on 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 42 registered maximum number of service users is 8.4, which has been reached with 32 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
